Capistrano Beach is a small beach town located in Dana Point, California, between
San Clemente and
Laguna Beach. The town of Capistrano Beach, named for the beach it's built on, has retained its original "small town" charm, with its status as a local "best-kept secret". Find out what everybody's talking about by choosing a
Capistrano Beach House Rental in a spot that is popular with both Orange County locals and well-informed California beach vacationers.
In this video, the Sands family is enjoying their beach house rental in Capistrano Beach (aka), Capo Beach. We have to mention it is technically located in the town of
Dana Point. Beach vacationers have been going to Capistrano Beach since the mid 1950's well before it became part of the City of Dana Point. Long-time regular vacationers will always know it as Capistrano Beach. The red brick rooftops and overall architecture of Capo Beach looks more like the Spanish city by the sea than the Cape Cod design that is predominant in Dana Point. We love Dana Point, but the train stop is also called "Capistrano" and the coolest thing about Capo Beach is its close proximity to 2 train stations: San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano. Enjoy a unique relaxing vacation and leave your car at home. It's easy to avoid southern California's traffic congestion and take the train from LA or the inland empire. Most beach house vacation rentals in Dana Point include bikes or they can be easily rented nearby. Many owners or property managers will stock your refrigerator and many grocery stores deliver.
Capistrano Beach is a convenient travel spot for those looking to go to Dana Point Harbor or the Catalina Islands because of how close it is to the Pacific coast Highway (called PCH by locals) in South Orange County. A public bike path connects Capistrano Beach to Doheny Beach and is a great way to see the city hassle-free on bike or rollerblades, and plenty of volleyball nets are available for those looking to have fun along the shore. Bring a frisbee or a football and enjoy the shore, then watch the sun set over the pacific ocean while eating dinner at local restaurants like Sushi Kiyo. For those looking to go out in the evenings, there are also plenty of nightclubs and lounges to enjoy.
Family fun includes the San Gabriel Mission Annual Fiesta celebrated every year at the end of Augustin San Juan Capistrano, less than a ten minute drive from Capistrano Beach. The three-day festival commemorates San Gabriel Mission as the birthplace of the LA region. It provides the full cultural and artistic experience featuring art by the local Native Americans, photography shows, and a variety of food for all to enjoy! Capistrano Beach is also conveniently located between Disneyland and LEGOLAND with only a thirty minute drive to either theme park for even further entertainment!
