"Perfect House on The Perfect Beach
DOGTROT VILLA on French Leave Beach i was
perfect house. Amazing interior with new appliances. two great master BR and baths. AC in every room. The porch is awesome with a great view of the beach and water. French Leave is one of the best beaches in all of the Bahamas and Caribbean. Amazing. Michele and her daughter were great hosts. Mr Pinder met us at airport with them perfect vehicle. we have traveled extensively in the Caribbean and The Bahamas Family Islands. Eleuthera is right at top for beauty and laid back life style as well as friendly people. Would definitely go back and must start at DOGTROT!"

"Our vacation at French Leave Villa was perfect.
It was our first trip to Eluethera and we were very pleased. We live in a couple of tourist hot spots so I found the perfect place for beauty and peace. Sunrise was amazing, water warm and clear, the perfect beach for walking and the accommodation was so comfortable and filled with amenities, whether in the kitchen, the beds, books, TV, generator, and all the beach gear. Very thoughtful hosts trying to provide for your comfort and relaxation. Pam was our host with Eluethera vacations and responded quickly to all questions and provided you with all the information you could need about the island. Their island host, Michelle, was lovely and very helpful and responsive. We talked with a few people that had stayed other places but came here because of the generator and internet service. They had poor experiences elsewhere. We had no power outage while we were there but neighbors said ours came on when theirs did not during an earlier outage. For us, I could not have picked a better place to stay and it is great to have Eluethera vacations as a host. Thank you!"

We have stayed at a few different homes and this one was incredible. Felt like home away from home. All the amenities, high end bedding, living room accommodations, equipped kitchen and a view that topped it all. It will be our go-to spot until we move there. "

Our stay at Dogtrot was great. The house is in wonderful condition and a great location. The beach access is perfect. The only criticism of our stay was the attach by no seeums every evening. Not sure what can be done or if those bugs are always there or just happened to be there for our stay! Thanks to Michele and Sidera for helping with things. They were great."

"Dogtrot Villa Getaway
The villa is perfectly located on the French Leave Beach which is definitely one of the top beaches on the island. The villa is perfect for two couples the front veranda is awesome for early morning coffee.....the island unfortunately experiences frequent power outages but Michelle (property manager) was very accommodating to ensure the generator was operating. The Sunset Inn is great for sunset dinners and the food is reasonably priced and good. The Buccaneer restaurant is another must place to dine, food is very good. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating during our trip .....Eleuthera is a secret amongst vacation getaways! "

"Paradise in the Bahamas
This has been our second trip to the spectacular Bahamas Islands and our first visit to the beautiful and secluded island of Eleuthera. We loved staying in the Dogtrot Villa. This house is perfectly appointed with a modern style, clean. It is situated on one of the most amazing beaches on the island. The villa with dual master king bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms is thoroughly equipped with everything you may need for your stay, towels, linens, pillows, kitchen ware, air conditioning, beach chairs and umbrella and much more. It faces the peaceful and pristine French Leave beach with its clear blue water and light pink soft sand - it is really a dream. Sunrises and sunsets were spectacular from the villa front porch. We will definitely treasure our vacation there which will remain among our most beautiful memories with the hope to come back in future."

"Absolutely perfect
This Villa is situated on the most incredible beach in all the Bahamas. French Leave beach has it all with its pristine pale pink sand, crystal clear waters and quiet environment. The double en-suite master bedrooms was the perfect setup for my husband and I our 2 boys. The unit was stocked with lots of linens, towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, glasses, plates, coolers which were all in new and perfect condition including the washer / dryer which was so helpful during our stay. The Villa is modern, clean and well maintained. There was a helpful groundskeeper who kept the loungers, beach and landscaping immaculate. Melissa is super knowledgeable about the island and extremely responsive to any questions. The Villa is also close to many amazing restaurants including the Buccaneer, Bacchus, Tippy’s and 1648. We went on amazing boating adventures with extraordinary marine life such as turtles, stingrays, starfish, dolphins, and coral reefs. The fishing is amazing - caught over 12 fish which the Captain filleted for us. My boys enjoyed paddle boarding, surfing and exploring the sites. This was not our first visit to the island and it won’t be our last. We look forward to returning to Eleuthera and staying at Dogtrott Villa again! Thank you for the most wonderful incredible memories. "

"Abundance of Peace
My husband and I spent 9 quite nights at Dogtrot Villa. We enjoyed every second of this well appointed home. Michele took good care of us. We didn't even need to bring shampoo and conditioner. Beds were very comfortable. French Leave Beach is perfection. We really felt like we had our very own private beach. Only saw a hand full of people the entire time. I’m so grateful we got to spend our 25th at Dogtrot."

The AC unit in the room to the right as you walk in was not working
There were 5-6 dead bugs throughout the home when we arrived
Some notable spots on the walls and doors that could easily be cleaned
The 4 foldable beach chairs need to be replaced because the straps are broken and the hinges are extremely rusty
The back door handle does not work so if you close the back door while on the porch you have to walk around the house to get back in"

Our experience was excellent! This rental was booked last minute after an airbnb disaster and it had all the accommodations we needed! The property manager was awesome and the place was spotless! "Absolutely Perfect!
This was our first trip to Eleuthera and the Bahamas and we couldn't have been happier with Dogtrot Villa. The villa was beautiful just as shown in pictures, the beach is just steps away and it's centrally located making it great for exploring each end of the island and everything in between. Pam was so helpful in booking the reservation and Michele was great once we got there, answered all questions and attended to our needs. I would highly recommend this property and we most certainly will rent it again if back on Eleuthera."

"Truly Amazing in Every Way!
This trip was our first visit to Eleuthera (and the Bahamas) and it started out as a couples trip but ended up turning into a girls trip instead which was so much fun! The house fit us perfectly and everything was exactly has described in the overview and pictures. The beds were comfortable which was great since we were there for 9 nights. Everything was very clean but our only little frustration was there was no broom in the house and since we spent so much time at the various beaches, it would have been great to have a broom. The living room furniture was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and had most everything we needed. We cooked some great dinners and breakfasts in the villa. The bathrooms had plenty of towels for bathing and the beaches and the washer and dryer was very helpful. It was extremely windy for the first few days so we didn't really hang out at French Leave Beach for the first few days but that is the beauty of Eleuthera, you can always go to the Caribbean side and find calm beautiful beaches. The villa is in the middle of the island which made it convenient as we fully explored all 110 miles of Eleuthera. There is a similar villa right next door which was also booked (and this was their 3rd time staying there). Lots of good food but definitely check out French Leave Resort for breakfast. Lastly, I have to say that Pam at was so wonderful and helpful. Since this was our 1st time here, she answered a ton of questions for us for the last year! We were extremely comfortable traveling by ourselves because of all of the information Pam gave us! We will stay here again and book through ."

Absolutely delightful 2 bedroom villa on one of THE most beautiful beaches. Ideal location - close to Governor's Harbour Settlement. House is comfortable & thoroughly equipped for your stay - great towels, linens, pillows, kitchen ware, beach chairs & umbrella. Sunrises & sunsets are utterly dreamy from this front porch. What we liked is that is beech style without being "beach-themed," if you get what I mean."

"Dog Trot Villa
Wonderful house with a breathtaking view of probably the most beautiful beach in the world. Manager Michele
was friendly and always available when we needed her. The house was clean and had everything we needed.
We enjoyed local restaurants (Buccaneer, 1648, Da Perk and Tippy's). Food and service was excellent.
Don't bother with the Rainbow Inn restaurant, food was so so and the service was poor. BTW the bartender may or may not put tequila in your margarita. Also check your tab carefully.
Da perk is perfect for breakfast and a great cup of coffee. The staff even provided a togo order of homemade pancake syrup to complete our Christmas breakfast (somehow we lost our previously purchased syrup between the grocery store and the villa). Da Perk saved the day!
Speaking of groceries bring lots of cash and I mean lots of cash. We are still enjoying our $9.00 box of Triscuit crackers that I brought home to the States. The local grocery store is well stocked but brace yourself for the prices. Baucus is a great place to get deli meats and cheeses, they also sell a $12 box of crackers, yum.
While we were there we enjoyed long walks on the pink sand beaches, stand-up paddle boarded with turtles, and visited and fed the pigs on their own private island.
We will definitely be coming back!

"Great location, great house
This was our first trip to the island, and we are glad we stayed in the Governor's Harbour area. The Dogtrot house is on a lovely stretch of beach and close to restaurants and grocery stores. The house is in great shape, with nice linens, new furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed and plenty of hot water. Oh, and the generator definitely came in handy!
While you have everything you could need inside the house, this property could benefit from better beach amenities. The neighboring house had kayaks, beach gazebo, solid umbrellas, beach rakes, etc. The umbrella provided was broken and the beach chairs were more like lawn chairs, so difficult to carry to other beaches. No snorkel equipment or floats provided.
We enjoyed Eleuthera, the beaches and especially the warm, friendly people. The property manager, Michelle, was professional, friendly and responsive.
With just a few upgrades, this property would be perfect. If you are looking for a modern, clean, well-located house on Eleuthera this property is a good option."

"Amazing property on best beach
We shared this home with our friends and our 18 month old and wow we Weill be back! The house is perfect for two couples as both sides of the house have ocean view master bedrooms with their own en-suite. The kitchen and living space that is shared was perfect for taking a break from the beach. We highly recommend this house and after four other trips to the area this is now our favourite. It’s close to town and she many restaurants including Tippys a huge favourite. We can’t express enough how much we enjoyed our stay in this house!"

"So Beautiful you won't believe your eyes
The property was absolutely beautiful and the beach is unbelievable! It was so peaceful on the front porch for coffee every morning. The power went out twice for a brief time and the generator kicked in immediately. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook a meal and the washer and dryer were a huge bonus. Wifi was very fast and they provided cable TV as well. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this property to anyone. "

We absolutely loved the Dogtrot Villa! It is a beautiful home on a gorgeous beach. It is brand new, was spotlessly clean, and everything works! Generator did kick in on few days and worked great. Internet was very good, had satellite TV if you wanted it. The location is perfect for access to groceries, restaurants, etc. but still quiet and private. Loved it! Would highly recommend. Pam, Michelle, and team managing the property were wonderful to work with! Very responsive, friendly, and professional!"

"Impressive and beautiful home
The house is so nicely designed and has a perfect location. The beach couldn't be nicer. The house was furnished very sophisticated and simple, not a lot of clutter or typical beachy style; it was stocked with whatever we needed to cook, grill, watch movies or chill on the back porch. The water was occasionally off, but fixed very quickly. Towels were clean and fluffy, checkin was super easy. I recommend this home and the sister home next door any time. "
