Location, Location, Location
Fishing in Port Aransas Located along the South Texas Gulf Coast, Port Aransas is just a half hour south of Corpus Christi. From there, it is a 30-minute drive to Mustang Island. At the end of the sandy barrier island is the lovely Port Aransas. The town has friendly locals and is filled with South Texas charm. Port Aransas is the "Fishing Capital of Texas", and the town's best guides will happily help you fill your cooler with fresh Redfish, Black Drum, or Trout. If you are feeling adventurous, you can try your hand at deep sea fishing for kingfish, sailfish, marlin, tuna.
About Port Aransas
Established as a Mustang Ranch in 1853, Port Aransas is still a small town in terms of permanent residents. The quaint and relaxing town has only a population of about 4,000. It blossoms into a spectacle in summer, however, when golf carts take over as the main mode of transportation. The town's impressive restaurants hustle to serve up boatloads of Texas' best seafood. It has four huge public fishing piers and multiple marinas. From there, you can embark on reasonably priced (and successful) fishing excursions.
Fun Things to do in Port Aransas
Parasailing in Port Aransas Port Aransas offers a ton of nearby activities. You can hire a fishing guide, head out to sea, and cross your fingers for a Texas State record; many of them are caught here. There are adventures like dolphin excursions, kayak tours to a lighthouse built in 1857, or trips to San Jose Island, a well-preserved island treasure. Play a round of oceanfront golf at the beautiful Palmilla Golf Course or take the ferry to nearby Aransas Pass and Rockport and do a little exploring. You might even try your hand at wind sports, like parasailing, skydiving or kite surfing- all of which Port Aransas offers an ideal location for.

Port A's beaches are as choice as its many restaurants. Dive into rich Italian food at the Venetian Hot Plate, the intriguing Irie's island food, an idyllic South Texas waterfront seafood experience at Virginia's on the Bay, or Kody's for beer and burgers.
