Welcome to Irongate Lodge—.
Quality and comfort describe this Meeks Bay retreat with an open floor plan. An abundance of well-placed picture windows let in the natural light and allow opportunities to appreciate the lake views.
Through the large craftsman front door, you’ll enter the family room, with filtered lake views, beautiful stone floors, a gas river rock fireplace, and leather sofa sleeper. A rustic family-style dining table with six chairs and a long bench is the perfect spot to gather for meals and good conversation.
Featuring filtered views of picturesque Lake Tahoe and doors and log trim hand painted by a local artist, the stunning kitchen includes seating for four at the breakfast bar, a Thermador gas cooktop, double ovens, a full complement of cooking utensils—everything you need to create homecooked meals. The dishwasher makes cleanup easy.
The living room has plenty of seating for the group. Put your feet up and enjoy the ambiance as the fire crackles in the wood burning river rock fireplace. There is a large flat panel TV and more filtered views of the Lake. This neighborhood does not offer Cable/DSL internet.
Off the living room is the huge deck with ample seating. Lounge and admire more filtered lake views as you make memories and take photos of the scenery. There is a gas barbeque when you’re ready to grill something tasty.
Feel free to wander the property. Irongate Lodge’s grounds are amazing, with lovely stone walkways, artisan metal gates, a hot tub with a craftsman gazebo, and plenty of space to explore.
When you’re ready to turn in, the main house includes two bedrooms. The master has a queen bed, attached full bath, and a flat panel TV with satellite service.
The second bedroom has two queen beds and a TV with a DVD player. There is no satellite service in this bedroom. The second bathroom is just across the hall along with the laundry room.
You’ll find the hot tub outside
When you’re ready to venture out, many Lake Tahoe activities and sights are right at your doorstep!
Your home away from home is close to Meeks Bay, with a terrific sandy beach and paddleboard and boat rentals. Located on National Forest Land, the Meeks Bay shoreline is popular for its beautiful scenery, sprawling clean beaches, and easy access. The area offers a high concentration of recreation opportunities including camping, swimming, biking, boating and hiking into the nearby Desolation Wilderness.
Ed Z’Berg – Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen, and juniper. Another attraction is the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion (also known as Pine Lodge), a summer home built in 1903. Winter visitors to the park will find over 20 kilometers of marked cross country ski trails and a heated restroom in the General Creek campground. D.L. Bliss State Park is open to vehicular traffic in the summer, where you can enjoy swimming or scuba diving in the crystal clear water of Lake Tahoe, picnicking, relaxing on the warm sand of Lester Beach or Calawee Cove, and access to hiking the Rubicon Trail, Lighthouse Trail, and Balancing Rock Trail. Lester Beach is a popular location to launch your kayak, paddleboard, or canoe. You won’t want to miss the icon of Lake Tahoe, Emerald Bay, a short drive away. Emerald Bay State Park boasts 360-degree picturesque views that encompass Emerald Bay, Fannette Island, Eagle Falls, and Vikingsholm Castle. Just a few miles down the road you’ll find Homewood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley Ski Resorts. The Magical West Shore has great options for whatever you fancy: snowshoeing, snowboarding, downhill or cross-country skiing, sledding, and more! Vacation Home Rental
