"Decompression time
We have rented condos at Beachhead for a number of times over the last thirty years and have always had a good experience. The condo has a view of the gulf, although the beach is somewhat obstructed by the dunes. They have a private boardwalk with close proximity to the beach. The pool is very nice and it’s heated. "

"Labor Day weekend 2024

"Cute condo but needs some attention
Unit 502- Union arrival initial impression was good. Cute decor and appeared clean. We were aware that Beachhead is an older but updated establishment, however there were about 5 “spot spots” in the floor, holes in the wall around shower curtain rods, and pet peeve ... the master bathtub wasn’t clean, even had hair left in the drain. We didn’t complain to the office because it wasn’t a deal breaker. The property grounds themselves are beautiful and the booking process was seemless. Master bed is extremely firm. Minimal view of the beach from the balcony due to the dunes. However, Weith this unit you’re just a few steps from the boardwalk, playground pool and game room. Overall it served its purpose. But if you’re looking for something a little more modern or an updated condo I’d look elsewhere. "

We arrive on time but the code did not work on the door. We found the condo clean and everything ready for us. I would be nice if they upgrade the condo as it does appear to be old but it is well kept."

"Overall good, but a maintenance issue
Ample space in bedrooms and living area. Best for a family.
Good location. Communication form rental agency excellent. View was okay. Furnishings new
And clean.
Bathrooms are super small, but pictures show that up front. Overall decent rental.
One downside was that they keys would not work in either lock on the door, nor would the striker latch the door. When we arrived late we struggled to get the door open for 20 minutes and finally jiggled it enough to get it open. We called maintenance the next day (directions given in brochure: on property office is on the hill (??)). The door was fixed, but it’s the kind of issue you would expect. When the unit was updated, perhaps locks/latches should have been too?

"Awesome condo with perfect location!
The condo was located perfectly: so close to the beach and also to town. The condo itself is decorated nicely and has a well-equipped kitchen, two separate bedrooms AND bathrooms, and a large TV. The complex has a large, very nice pool and grills, which we used almost every night. Check in/out was very easy. We loved our stay here and will book this condo with (Property Management) again! "

"A Winter Texan Stay
Although the weather didn’t always cooperate, we enjoyed our stay at Beach Head in Port Aransas. The condo was very comfortable. We enjoyed the convenience of walking down to the beach and the on-site pool (although the pool wasn’t always as warm as we would have liked). The only complaint we had regarding our condo was regarding the lack of sufficient cutlery for eating and how mismatched it is. We love Port Aransas!"

"Heavy rains will impact your stay
Ww were overall happy with the condo, but wish meant would have forewarned us of the flooded parking and condo entrances. If we had known, we could have better prepared ourselves with appropriate clothing and equipment. The condo was pristeen, but reeked of insecticide (but insecticide worked, absolutely no roaches)."

"Port A Escape
Overall, the condo was dated; bathrooms very small but it served it's purpose. Clean. Biggest disappointment was lack of balcony access (under repair). Had a major rainstorm just prior so retrieving items from from car was difficult. Beach access was wonderful! One thing I would ask for is a short list cleaning items available. I didn't check every closet/drawer/etc. so I ended up purchasing some items (dishwasher soap, etc) and then later found it."

"Beach getaway
The first place was not like the pictures, so they switched us. The 2nd place we went to, the keys didn't work, it was corrected. UT was nice and clean but the beds were horrible, like sleeping on a board! Balcony closed so no where to sit for morning coffee outside. I will never book a place with guests above either!! To much noise. At least it was clean!! "

"Beach boardwalk condo
My family enjoyed two nights here in December, walking to the beach, and swimming in the heated pool. The living room was large and the bedrooms were comfortable."

"Beach head 502 .... June 2020
The property in general was obviously improved from our last post Harvey stay, the pool / activity area was a huge plus. Parking and beach access was a major selling point for our group. The bathrooms had issues though. Bathroom 1’s tube hot water faucet would not turn off completely....dripping (noise) our entire stay, bathroom 2’s toilet had a slow leak so the water would cycle on to refill regularly. Both of these were a inside noise pollution issue, especially during the night. Bathroom 1’s sink was a slow drain situation... maybe a sand and or hair clog?"

"Wonderful Time
Very simple check in and check out. While I was effectively forced to download an app to manage this process, by the end of the trip I was ok with it as it provided notification when room was ready and reminders for checkout which was nice"

"Good location to access the beach
I would have liked some shade on the beach to sit and rest. Your rental plan can include a service for which you can charge to place a tent, to have some chairs. This will help seniors like us."

"Beachtastic was awesome 502BH ! Wonderful experience!
Property was in a great location and the amenities were great! The grounds were kept in wonderful delights of flowers and tropicals no stickers, lush lawn. ( I compliment the grounds keepers) Well Maintained but more a bit above. I loved the solar lights that you looked at during the night that looked liked a flames burning.
The Condo was decorated in beach theme and was beautiful and very pleasing to the eye. The couch and loveseat very comfy and the bedrooms were very nice to sleep on, airy sheets and quilts that I am now trying to find for my home. The swimming pool was exquisite and had a game room with ping pong table and foosball and air hockey quite fun!
We loved the walk to the beach on the board walk and then rinse off station was very nice. The playground equipment needs a bit of attention but somethings functional. I might recommend to the cleaning crew to put in a swifter for the guests to use, I would have gladly cleaned the floors with it.
Since we tracked in a bit of sand. Sweeping was fine. The Patio was very nice for us to have coffee on in the morning. GREAT VIEW OF THE BEACH ! Loved Loved seeing the ships and boats come in from Canal by the Jetty. My family loved staying there very satified a 5 stars or a 10! Very Happy with the location a 5 stars. Only thing was my family did not want to leave they want to stay forever! Hope to beable to come and stay again. !"

"Locked Out Beachside in Port Aransas!
The location is great with easy access to the beach. However, the lock on the door was extremely difficult to open when we arrived and then became impossible to unlock. Those staying near by indicated it was an on going problem. We contacted the management company and a maintenance person arrived within the the hour. If we wanted to leave the condo, we were told our
only option was to leave the condo unlocked because the lock could not be repaired until the next morning. We missed a dinner out in Port A Friday night and a member of our group missed Saturday morning on the beach. The lock
was not repaired until noon on Saturday. A temporary lock with keys should have
been available. "

"Location is everything
Booked a modern looking condo in Beachhead and was told 5 days before arriving that we would need to be moved to a different condo. Having booked our stay based on reviews and photos, this was extremely disappointing. The company worked with us, but having paid in full and it being part of their contract there wasn't much that we could do.
The new booking, 502BH, smelled like mothballs upon entry; overwhelmingly so. We opened the door to the balcony and turned on the fans. After the first day we got used to it but it was an off putting start and a little embarrassing when having our friends stop by.
The Beachhead location, boardwalk, and pool are all draws. You can't beat the beachfront location, and the beach views from the pool. There was also a really nice gameroom/community area next to the pool.
All in all, it was a comfortable stay with the amenities we needed, but overall wasn't what we're looking for in a condo. I wouldn't say BH502 is small child friendly. The view of the ocean over the dunes was nice in the morning until the sun came up."

"Great condo by the beach
Our condominium was really nice. It was clean and well kept and had an amazing view of the ocean! The only issue we had was the keys to the door did not turn easily and it was at times difficult to unlock the doors. The facilities at beachhead were great and the heated pool was amazing when it was turned on. We had a great time and would recommend this condo to friends and family! "

"It was Ok
Due to storms moving in they are not flexible at all about rain checks. Nor do they warn you that when it rains the condos at the end start to flood. We needed up leaving at 5 am so our car wouldn’t get water up the tail pipe. No warning anywhere of risk for flooding. The condo was ok. Funky smell and the carpet is really bad with stains all over. Needs replaced. The view was very nice"

"Beactastic 502 BH is a pile of ****
The unit had a sour smell when we opened the door. There is light green/gray carpet throughout and it is filthy. The bathrooms are carpeted and the **** smell is like a nursing home. The laundry room has machines that don't work. The property is close to the beach. There was good hot water. Those are the only 2 positives I can say about this. We were cheated, plain and simple."

"No Place To Take A Vacation
When we arrived at our condo we discovered the area around our unit was flooded (ankle deep). We then had to park in the front of the condos and haul all of our gear a long way to the condo. We also found that the condo was roach infested, the front door lock was difficult to open and the handle on the door to the patio was about to fall off. The carpet looked like it had not been cleaned in years. When the management company replaced the front door lock, we were at the pool and they failed to leave us the new keys. We were locked out of the unit until they sent the maintenance man back out to give us the new keys. Based on other beaches we have been to over the years, the beach was sub-par. We will definitely NOT be back to this beachfront rental property."

"Happy Overall with One Big Complaint
Great condo complex location. Pool is very nice! Unit layout is absolutley perfect. One big compnaint, the unit has GROSS carpet throughout. I mean EVERYWHERE. In the kitchen, in the bathrooms. Toilets are mounted right on top of it nasty! I would certainly consider staying at Beachhead again but definitely not in this unit unless carpet is removed and would verify flooring in other units before booking. "

"Good location
These condos are in a great location, an easy walk to beach and drive into town. The view of the ocean from the pool is beautiful. My main concern was that the condo has carpet through out, even in the bathrooms and kitchen, and it is in pretty bad condition. I would stay in this complex again but I would find a more updated unit."

"Great Location!
The huge pro to this rental is it’s location and view! Easy walk along the condo’s boardwalk to the beach, and great view of the sunrise from the balcony! This condo is well priced for the location and views.
That said, you do get what you paid for. The negatives of this condo is the smell- a combo of mildew and mothballs, which is very unpleasant. Also, the entire condo, including both bathrooms and kitchen, is carpeted. The carpet is quite run-down and stained. Makes it hard to fill like it’s really very clean.
There are no outlets in the bathrooms and there is no iron/ironing board (cause sometimes you do want to wear something other than a bathing suit;). Also, the fridge does not have an ice maker. Ice cube trays are provided but they were empty when we got there so I’d suggest you buy a bag of ice on your way in.
None of the above are necessarily deal breakers, especially for the price range of this condo, the view and it’s location."

"A nice place to stay
Overall, this is a great place to stay. Only problems were limited parking and the mosquitoes were HORRIBLE! This is mostly due to the flooding that happened at Port A and the property did spray for bugs twice but it was just very, very bad this year. Other than that, a great place to stay. I loved walking to the beach! "

"Great Spot With Great Access To Beach
We were very pleased with our stay, we had a 1 year old with us and the short walk to the beach was great. The condo was is in good shape, the only thing we noticed was a slight smell in the condo but nothing major. We would certainly rent this again in the future."

"Port Aransas Beachhead
I would recommend the Beachhead. There were, however, a couple of issues. The sitting room furniture was very hard and uncomfortable. Also, there was very little hot water and the bath tub faucet leaked heavily the whole time. I called (Property Management) twice about it but maintenance never showed up to fix it. We showered in shifts, and just lived with it! Other than these issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Port Aransas is our favorite place to "chill out"! We'll be back!!"

"Most uncomfortable furniture ever
Property was in a good location and very clean and fairly updated. The decor was kind of kitchsy and the furniture was super uncomfortable. It smelled old and musty in the condo and the air conditioner was not very cold. "

"Fall beach time
Comments: Unit is Beach Head not Beach Ball. Instructions for access to unit were vague (ie, access is on second level). Plumbing was not very good - we had to clear the master toilet after only 1 day. Overall, the condition of unit was good, access to beach was convenient."

This unit is nicely located, but needs maintenance.. The carpet does not allow the entry door to open more than 14 inches.. Hard to bring in your bags, let alone some groceries, The AC unit was inadequate because the filters were electrical outlets in the bathrooms.. Old unit in need of updates"
