The calmest of beaches in Eleuthera are on the Caribbean side of the island. With a southwest exposure, you will experience some of the most incredible sunsets in the world. This unique location offers you over 1,500 feet of beach front to enjoy. It is nestled between two small rocky point peninsulas, creating a very calm and private atmosphere, alluring you to make this your lifetime vacation home, as it has for many others.

This completely furnished home was completely renovated in 2010/2011 and no expense has been spared.

Amenities include AC in all rooms, wifi, satellite TV, DVD player, CD player, video library, music library, washer/dryer, back-up generator, and three sea kayaks (two single and one tandem).

Pau Pau Bay was named many years ago, upon the discovery of the land's abundance in vegetation. Among the many fruits, there are pau pau (papayas), coconuts, and pineapples. Directly in front of the beach are the Pineapple Cays, four islands that offer a great anchorage and protection on windy days. Pau Pau Bay is home for an astonishingly diverse collection of sea creatures living in just 3 to 9 feet of water...

The town of Governors Harbour, less than 10 minutes away, has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is completely safe any time of the day or night. Enjoy the rare experience of picking up hitch-hikers and leaving your keys in the car wherever you go. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks, bikes. You can have a charter captain take you out for excursions of various types. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore. We hope you will enjoy Pau Pau Beach Estate, and experience all our island has to offer.

"Beautiful Rental in Eleuthera
We all enjoyed this house and property very much! We loved the location and all the privacy. The pictures online do not do it justice. Our favorite part was boating and kayaking out to the small islands and snorkeling. It was better than snorkeling on an excursion and this was free! We would definitely rent this house again and tell our friends to rent it also. "

"Paradise Found!
An incredible home is a beautiful setting! The water and beach are perfection! We loved the fire put at night. Beds were comfortable, showers and bathrooms were clean and great. No complaints!"

"March 2024 Vacay
We had a great time in Eleuthera and the house worked perfectly for our group of 8. The beach is beautiful and we explored the area for sealife. The caretaker was very responsive and took care of all our needs. I would definitely stay here again. "

"Pau Pau Delight
Loved our stay at Pau Pau Estate. It is a special property with a lovely, spacious house. The beach front and bay is amazing. House does need updated beach chairs. We usually like to have portable beach chairs to take to the wonderful Eleuthera beaches. The chairs at the house are plastic solid type that were all cracked and needed replacing. It's our understanding that the cistern water did not have purification systems so we purchased bottled water (about 1 gallon per person per day). Really enjoyed the kayaks. One of the kayaks leaked significantly and luckily the person that took that kayak out made it back to the house. Lots of steps, not all to International building code. The two levels of the back deck had a 12 inch high riser."

"Lovely Home; Needs a working Generator
This is a very lovely home with plenty of space for our family and lots of supplies. We loved the beach, the shallow, calm, warm water, and the phenomenal snorkeling near the nearby islands. The house was clean and pleasant. The problem was that the power went off on at least 3 of the 7 days we were there for hours at a time, disabling all electricity including the water pump. Unfortunately, the generator was not working which made for a tense time with us worrying about having no water, toilets, etc. for an undetermined amount of time. The management company was professional, but there wasn't much they could do. It made a vacation that could have been heavenly more stressful than it should have been. If the generator is fixed, I would definitely recommend this home."

"Great house, incredible beach!
House was clean and well equipped. Beach, snorkeling and time on the water was super as no travel required. We enjoyed a good fire in the fire pit and some fruit from one of the trees. Daniel, the caretaker, was responsive and stopped by to say hello and see if we needed anything. Thank you!"

"Awesome!
This place is so cool. Beautiful private beach with some really cool cays to kayak out to. Perfect for our kids and perfect for us! Close to Governer's, which is a plus and so many awesome Atlantic beaches near Palmetto Point. Can't beat the proximity to the Island Farm either!"

"Private paradise
Beautiful home on private beach but you need a taller vehicle to get to it. Kayaks we fun but need to be drained after using them (the little blue kayak filled with water and almost didn’t make it back to shore after a long paddle). "

"Paradise Found
Our family of 5 found the home to comfortable and a perfect location to make you feel you are on your own private island. Beautiful bay, small islands just a kayak ride away for added adventure. And great fishing!
Eleuthera had fantastic restaurants when we weren’t in the mood to cook too!"

"Wonderful vacation!
We had a fantastic stay at Pau Pau! The home was clean and very well-stocked. Daniel, the property manager and Matthew Simon were so nice and very responsive. The beach grass was always raked and trash taken as needed. We had the beach to ourselves and enjoyed snorkeling and kayaking to the islands in front of the home where we snorkled some more. We saw many reef fish, barracuda, stingray, nurse shark, and lobster! We spent time also exploring some of the beaches on the island and really loved Lighthouse Beach, Tay Bay, and Twin Coves. Twin Coves had amazing snorkeling! We visited Cathedral Caves, Preachers Cave, Ocean Hole, and Sapphire Hole. We also went on a snorkeling tour and fishing charter with Sheldon with Exotic Excursions and caught reef fish and fed the stingrays and sea turtles and went tubing! The locals are so friendly and we enjoyed the food and treats at Da Conch Hut, Mate and Jenny’s, Tippys(best pina coladas), Buccaneer Club, Cravings Bakery, and Coco Dream. We would love to come back. Thanks for an awesome vacation!"

"Excellent location
Absolutely loved the location! Great semi private beach on Caribbean side with shallow water and views of offshore islands. Saw sting rays in Water near shore. Be sure to visit Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve. Daniel arranged local lobster and crab. Grounds keeper cut and opened some fresh coconut for us. Actual house in need of several repairs. "

"Wonderful family vacation
House was very clean and is well laid out. We had a 16, 13, and 11 yo kids with us. The bedrooms on one side eod the living room and the master on the other gave the two older boys some privacy and allowed them to sleep later than we wanted to. The view is absolutely amazing. We ordered groceries for The Market and Daniel met them and had them put up for us. The islands out in front were great to snorkel. We rented a boat from Paul Petty, so getting out there wasn’t an issue and the kids could relax at the beach while we were still close by. The only issues we ran into were one of the water pumps messed up, but everyone was right on it and Daniel came out that night and fixed it! Also, only one kayak does not have a hole in it. Beaut her of these would prevent use from returning. Loved it! Hope we can come back again!"

"Paradise!
We had the most wonderful time , this was our second time staying at the villa. Everything that we needed was provided, full kitchen, washer, dryer and kayaks. Beautiful spot to snorkel! We will be back very soon!"
Apr 05, 2021 - Ginger P., Columbia, TN

"Great location - very central
The care take was very nice & friendly. The location of the house was very secluded. The beach is rocky & the water is as well. We had a school of nurse sharks & Man-O-Wars that visited daily. That kept things interesting!
We loved that the house had a door to separate the bedrooms from the kitchen & dining areas. Kayaking around the islands was amazing & great snorkeling too! Some upgrades/updates would really make this place sparkle. One of the guest bedrooms, interior with no windows needs a bed upgrade! Also one of the pieces of furniture in the living room had a broken arm. The refrigerator had some broken shelves & missing a piece on the shelf door which made it difficult to organize food & drinks. Most of the lawn furniture was cracked, warn out from the sun & salt air no doubt. Replacing with beach loungers would be a great improvement! There are some bees around the outside table making a home so be careful if you’re allergic! We always have a great time in ELH! Thank you for the rental!"

"Better than expected!
My siblings and I enjoyed a great stay at Pau Pau. The place was VERY clean and Kingsley, the caretaker, was extremely attentive and responsive to our needs. The young man who cleaned up the yard and raked the beach was not only a hard worker, but very friendly. The only things we were missing was a water dispenser to use for the larger ((5 gallon?) jugs, and a cooler to pack a lunch for the beach. Location was awesome as we felt like we had our own private beach. Thanks for a great stay!"

"Wonderful Home in a Wonderful Location
Visited for a week with our family - three generations, gpa and gma in their 70's, youngest grandchild was 1 yr old and this house was great for everyone. Pau Pau beach is beautiful with lots to do - fishing, kayaking, spear fishing, snorkeling, relaxing. The house was fully furnished and easy for us to cook big meals every day. The best part of the location is it's 5 min from one of the best farm stands on the island - fresh baked breads, local grown produce and other locally prepared foods available daily. Also easy to access other amazing beaches like French Leave (pink sand) beach and Receivers Beach. Couldn't say enough about the kindness and accommodating nature of the care taker Kinglsey who lives near by, and the responsiveness of the rental company leading into the trip. All very helpful and made our trip very easy. "
Jan 06, 2020 - AnnMarie J., Boise, ID

"Pau Pau Bay Beach Estate
This is the only trip we have ever made where the grandchildren did not want to go, go, go! The house inside was immaculate and well planned. The pictures do not do any of this place justice! Swim, snorkel and kayak to your hearts delight! The exterior of the house could use a bit of love and care but don't let that keep you away! We never managed to get wifi or television and my husband was disappointed about the tv but no one else missed it! We had from 80 years old down to 11 on this trip and everyone (including the 80 year old husband without tv) is ready to go back!"

"Great family place!
Our family of 6 adults had an amazing week in a beautiful, we'll stocked house and a beach that was perfect!"
Nov 20, 2019 - Robin D., Beatrice, NE

"Nice vacation
Renting this house was perfect for our family of nine. The house accommodated us well. It’s in a very private area with only one house at the end of the beach and a private beach cove for our self. Nice snorkeling and kayaking right outside the door. Be prepared that it is pretty remote, long unpaved road to get to the home, but beautiful view once you do arrive. Also be prepared that there are a lot of bugs in the evening, hard to sit outside after desk. Property management was very attentive and quick to respond to any of my questions before and during our week there. "

Fabulous, could not have been better !"

"Beautiful home, beautiful view
Beautifully furnished home with a stunning view. Located on a great shelling beach, good for snorkeling
Kayaks were great to visit offshore cays. Mileong potholed dirt road was the only drawback, but central location on the island a plus.."

"Wonderful laid-back beach holiday
We were a family of eight with ages ranging from grandparents to grandchildren and we all thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay in April 2019.
Pau Pau Villa was very comfortable, clean and well equipped and situated in an idyllic, private and secluded position. The air-con in all the rooms was very welcome (even though the equipment in two of the bedrooms was rather noisy). There are picture perfect views of the beach and sea from the villa so sitting on the terrace taking it all in was so relaxing - it was quite an effort to leave the villa and go exploring. The children especially enjoyed the Kayak's (hopefully the two leaking ones will get mended).
Eleuthera is a very unspoilt island with a very safe laid-back feel and the local islanders were all very friendly. We managed to eat (& drink) very well although be prepared the food prices are high and if you can tear yourself away from the villa it's definitely worth hiring a car to explore the island.
Would we return? Most definitely and I think that says it all!"
Apr 26, 2019 - MR RICHARD S., Stogumber

"Pau Pau Paradise
Visited 6 different beaches from North Eleuthera down to Rock Sound. Kept coming back to Pau Pau for the privacy and complete calming of the bay"

"Mid-Summer Break
We rented the property for the first week in July with my wife and I, our daughter and her husband, and our three grand children ages 11 to 14. After a tough year or so we were all looking for a relaxing break and I think the whole crew was overall quite happy with our week escape.
Everyone loved the house's beach for swimming, snorkeling, and the kayaks. The kitchen was well equipped and the living space was very comfortable -- I could never tire of the view from the living room window. The grounds are beautiful and it doesn't take much to imagine the place is a private island.
The locals were very friendly and our only negative experience was flight delays getting off the island. In hindsight flying through Nassau may have been more reliable.
A day trip to Harbour Island was fun and we managed to see a lot of the island with short driving excursions.
There are several good restaurants around but most of our meals were cooked at the house. With the limits of being on a small island we needed to be rather creative and flexible with a meal plan. Food is generally expensive and some items difficult to find but understandable given the population and location.
For our family get-together we wanted a peaceful relaxing experience and this place certainly delivered.
This place is nice -- clean, quiet, and well equipped! Even better than advertised.

"Fabulous Family Vacation Spot
We had a fantastic time at Pau Pau Bay Beach Estate!
The home was very well equipped & clean. The layout was perfect for our group. The views from the living room & deck are spectacular! The beach & tide pools provided us with hours of entertainment. Roasting marshmallows over the beach campfire was definitely a highlight!
The management staff were all very responsive & helpful. Kingsley supplied us with the best tomatoes ever!
Thank you to all who helped to ensure that our stay was comfortable!"
