Welcome to Popa’a Palms, our tropical oasis in the quiet coastal community of Hawaiian Beaches, near the village of Pahoa! Just two blocks away, stroll the breathtaking cliffs or lounge at the park and take in the colorful evening skies over the sea. In season the park is great place for whale watching.

Popa’a Palms is perfect for families and couples, offering plenty of privacy. The main floor (lower level) has two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The kitchen and living room are on the upper level, with one bedroom and bathroom. Enjoy ocean sounds and breezes on the spacious covered lanai.

Centrally located to the Island’s top destinations, explore Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Pohoiki Beach, the Island’s newest lava-created black sand beach, Akaka Falls State Park, the Botanical Gardens, and much more! 6. CANCELLATION POLICY (not applicable to Hale Kai Suites. See section f, below): To offer you the best services possible, we strictly adhere to our cancellation policy. Guest shall inform Agent in writing of Guest’s intention to cancel the reservation. (For reservations made through third parties, additional cancellation policies may apply.) The cancellation policy is as follows:
a. If Cancellation notice is received thirty or more days (30+) prior to the check-in date, a cancellation fee of $75.00 will be retained and the balance will be refunded within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation.
b. If Cancellation notice is received less than thirty days but at least fifteen days (15-29) prior to the check-in date, fifty percent (50%) of the booking amount of rent and taxes will be forfeited. Half of the rent, tax, security deposit or damage waiver and any pre-collected cleaning fees will be refunded within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation.
c. NO REFUNDS if cancelled within 14 days of arrival (0 – 14). As a courtesy to our Guest, if Agent can rebook any portion of the canceled reservation, Guest will be refunded to the extent that Agent is able to re-book the Property.
d. This loss can be avoided if Travel Protection Insurance was purchased and the reason for cancelation is covered under the travel insurance policy. All reservation changes must be acknowledged in writing.
e. Owner/Agent Cancellation Policy: In the unlikely event that the Property becomes unavailable for any part of the tenancy for reasons beyond the control of the Agent, including but not limited to the sale of the property, Owner and/or Agent may cancel this Agreement and refund in full to the Guest all payments made. Agent will assist in procuring similar alternative accommodation should this situation arise. Guest agrees that any claims against Owner/Agent arising out of performance or
non-performance under this agreement shall be limited to a full refund of all consideration previously tendered by Guest.
f. Hale Kai Suites Cancellation Policy: The guest may cancel free of charge up to 14 days prior to arrival. The guest will be charged 50% of the total price if they cancel in the 14 days before arrival. No $75 cancellation fee charged on Hale Kai Suites cancellations.

"Pahoa Paradise
We loved our stay at this home. The neighborhood was quiet and nice for walking. The little park down the road was great for ocean gazing. It was a bit warm when we arrived, but once we opened up the windows it cooled off quick. Nice furnishings, great kitchen, comfortable beds. We would stay here again for sure!"

"Relaxing vacation stay near the ocean!
Wow! Our stay at Popa'a Palms was amazing! Just what we were looking for in a vacation home. We didn't want to leave! The neighborhood was quiet and perfect for walking. The views along the cliffs and oceanfront drive were amazing. We loved sitting on the lanai in the evening with the cool breeze listening to the waves. The property was very open and spacious, clean, and well stocked. We used the grill on the lanai several nights. There are chairs and coolers in the garage which were handy for going to the parks and beach. We went to Hilo many times and it was an easy 25-30 minute drive. We visited the farmers markets, Waimea, the lava beds, many beaches and parks, and other sites. A grocery market, restaurants, and shops are only 10 minutes away in Pahoa, which were handy, and we also stocked up on groceries in Hilo. We will definitely be back!"

"Such a great house - so easy and comfortable!
This house looks cuter in person and we loved the floorplan! Two bedrooms and a full bathroom are on the ground level then the kitchen, open living room and third bedroom are upstairs. This made our family vacation SO comfortable - the old folks and little kids slept downstairs while the teen was able to stay up late, watch TV in the living room, and sleep upstairs without disturbing us. The upstairs lanai is right off the kitchen so we all ate breakfast outside admiring the lovely yard FULL of palm trees. There are so many birds here, we really felt the tropics. We planned lots of activities from this location. Expect to drive every day. Coming 'home' to Popaa Palms was so comforting and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again!"
