"Fish times 3, in the pond, on the table and in the hot tub!
The house and grounds were as described. We enjoyed feeding the fish, which was mentioned in the description but left out of the guide. Hot tub was lovely after a long walk on the Hammond Trail, which is just a block away. The location was excellent and close to everything we wanted.

"An ideal setting!
It was perfect! The house is such an ideal setting for a visit to this beautiful part of northern California. It is nicely located in McKinleyville just off the 101 between Arcata and Trinidad. Easy jaunts to Arcata for the university, Eureka for the big town or (better yet) up north to Trinidad and amazing coastlines. The deck off the house is huge and has a wonderful view of the ocean and the pond with the frogs is very relaxing. The house is well appointed with all you need for an easy stay. The house was clean, well maintained and very comfortable. The Hammond Trail is just outside the neighborhood for a wonderful walk in either direction. After a long day hiking, shopping or being on the beach, the hot tub was a welcome treat!"

"Nice home in a quiet coastal town
Our overall stay was magnificent. The rental location was good - easy access to highway 101.
The house was clean and in good shape. I’m recovering from knee surgery and all three bedrooms are upstairs - the staircase was equipped with railings on both sides so I always felt steady going up and down the stairs.
Master bedroom has an obstructed view of the ocean (which was nice since it’s not located on the closest street to the ocean), and the stand-up shower in the master bath could use either grip tape on the bottom of it or a handrail installed. Our bed in the master was very soft. Our other travelers commented that the middle bedroom had a hard bed and the end bedroom had a soft bed. We all slept great.
The koi pond was my favorite part of the property and we went out to feed the koi every day - there was koi food in a cabinet in the kitchen.
The hot tub on the back deck was nice. I only went into it once because it’s kind of “in-ground” and I wasn’t sure enough of my footing to be confident getting in/out of it again. My son sure enjoyed it though!
We also walked part of the Hammond trail at sunset. It was an easy 1.3 mile loop for the route we took.
We didn’t have any interactions with property management besides texting to let them know when we checked in and out.
All in all, I recommend this property and would definitely stay again."

"Wonderful Home for a Wonderful NorCal Vacation
Wow. Never again will I book on or AirBNB (horror stories, no more!) - was seamless, super convenient, friendly informative, and well WORTH IT! The Garden Pond Retreat was spectacular for our small group of 4 people (2 couples).
The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms spacious, and the kitchen had everything we needed (spices, utensils, plates) to prepare snacks and sandwiches for the trails, and dinner after a day of adventuring.
The Redwood forest is a magical place, and this home, is a magical retreat that has everything your group needs to recharge on your vacation.
We recovered each day in the hot tub, and at dusk, took a seat on the patio to enjoy the birds and wildlife, (we saw Jays, Herons, Pelicans and even a Fox!)
Each morning I woke up early to take a walk on the Hammond Trail, and it was so worth it as I saw River Otters and Harbor Seals feeding in the Mad River.
Honestly, this home made me fall in love even more, and the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly.
Our group can't wait to return. Thank you welcoming us into your lovely home. Until next year."

"Summer Get Away
The house was amazing, beds were so comfortable, view of the ocean and a close drive to Moon Stone Beach. Seeing family in the area and this was a great place to stay! The spa and gas fireplace on the deck created so many fun memories. This was our most expensive stay for a rental so far after staying in Sunset Beach and Tahoe. I would have loved to have had coffee started kit or more condiments on site upon arrival. We had to run to the store fairly quickly once we arrived since the house didn’t have extra pepper, cooking spray, sugar etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will enjoy our memories made during our trip."

"Relaxing home away from home!
It was the perfect place to stay for our vacation to the Redwood national and state parks! The backyard was superb - we even saw some elk and cranes! The house had all the amenities one would need for a couple of days stay, including high end appliances, which we greatly appreciated. Perfect for a family or group of friends. Neighborhood was nice and quiet. Close to grocery stores. Highly recommend this place and if we are ever back in this part of the state, we'll surely be staying here again. "

"A lovely home and garden
Home was very clean with two gathering areas. Bedrooms are upstairs, large and offer privacy. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, with large central island overlooking artfully designed garden and pond. We would definitely stay here again. "

"Beautiful Humboldt County Retreat
Our family of 6(3 generations) had a fantastic stay at this super roomy, clean, & comfortable home. It had a great location for what we wanted to do...sorta 1/2 way between Ferndale & Patrick's Point State Park(now called Sue-meg St Pk) The house is located in an extremely quiet neighborhood, & we thoroughly enjoyed the owner's beautiful garden, fish pond, hot tub, firepit, & just relaxing on the huge deck.
The kitchen had every pan,bowl,or gadget one could imagine with a huge island prep area.
The primary bedroom had an amazing white-water view, & all beds were extremely comfortable.
Our granddaughters loved the darling kid's table & the supply of markers, plus having the fun of watching a frog, a lizard, butterflies, an egret,& pill bugs that hung out at the pond!
We have 2 suggestions...1) Possibly add a larger nightstand or a small dresser to the middle bedroom, as there isn't much flat surface to lay anything down. 2) All the home's furnishings seemed very clean with the exception of the upholstered chair in the primary bedroom. It was soiled & looked like a cat had scratched the fabric.
Otherwise, this house was perfect!!!!

"Great place to stay
Beautiful home located in a wonderful area. It was centrally located to all of the parks we wanted to visit in the Redwoods. The house was so serene and was spacious for a family of 5 adults. We enjoyed coming back to sit in the hot tub after a long day of hiking. Booking the house, communication, check in and everything about the stay was a breeze. Will definitely stay here again if traveling in this area!"

This house is very well stocked with all you need for home meals, space to play games and enjoy the jacuzzi. I would only comment that the chairs around the fire pit are a bit difficult to get in and out of. Might reconsider something more comfortable. All in all a great home."

"Great home, amazing gardens
We stayed at this home in June with 4 adults and 2 kids. The house was a perfect fit. The home is well furnished for the number of guests it can accomodate. The family room has lots of seating, the dining room table is very large. The kitchen was well equipped for preparing meals and more. the location is great. It's right off the highway and just a short walk to the water and costal trail. There is a barrier island between the house and the big ocean waves. You can walk along the water at low tide. The gardens are AMAZING! The only minor complaints were sugar ants in the guest bath and the kitchen floor could use a mopping. We would totally stay again."

"Great Homebase for the Northern California Redwoods and Coast!
Highly recommended! We plan to stay again next time we come down to explore our family history in the Eureka area.
This was the perfect house and location for our family trip to the Northern California Coast and Redwoods. My family met up with my brother's family for a comfortable stay centrally located for great day excursions, including beach combing at Agate Beach, hiking Fern Canyon and Redwood groves, Humboldt Bay Kayak Eco-tour (great for first time kayakers), and some great breweries (especially liked Redwood Curtain Brewing in Arcata, but all the locals including Mad River and Six Rivers were great). Early morning walks right outside our door on the Hammond Trial along Mad River were especially relaxing.
In the evenings, we really enjoyed relaxing and socializing on the huge outside deck area with the clear wind screen, sunken hot tub, gas fire pit, and lot's of chairs and loungers provided.
The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dishes and had a very large island that served as a common gathering place while we prepared our meals and grilled outside. The bedrooms, beds, and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, with great views of the beautiful backyard pond and well kept yard and gardens. This place stands out as one of the nicest and well maintained homes on the street."

"Absolutely Amazing!-
My husband and I needed a much needed get away and this was the perfect place.
My mom past 2 years ago from Cancer and sometimes I need a recharge and a healing place.
This Oasis was huge! Very clean and you can see the ocean on the top floor. The pond was great! The fish came out in the morning and it was the perfect place to relax and meditate. The hot tub was an added bonus and helped relax my tight shoulders. We can't wait to stay here again!
It was just my husband and I but the home could easily fit a family. Amazing vacation! Must stay! Great location and we were so close to the ocean or the redwoods.
I also left my bikini behind and when I contacted them to mail it they were very kind to do so. "
