"Only salt & pepper
No basic spices or other storage items like containers with lids and plastic wrap. I come to the Maui Sunset just about every year, and never came across this and 6 of the other units our family was at all had. All we got was salt and pepper, not even soy sauce."

"Beautiful Views!
Unit 515A was spotlessly clean upon arrival and came equipped with everything one could need for a beachfront experience, including boogie boards and beach chairs, and other water toys. The giant pool is absolutely sparkling and the grounds are immaculately maintained. The kitchen was very well stocked. No spices or olive oils, or basic condiments however so make sure you plan for that. My only complaint is that the air conditioning unit in our bedroom was ridiculously loud. It would be great if mini splits were installed for more noise free climate control. "

"Disappointed
We’ve stayed here 5 times in 9 years. Always bldg A and unit 516 or 515 this last stay. Condo this time was tired and not very clean. Stains on drapery, tired and worn furniture & mirror moldings missing. Sadly not nearly as condo clean as before. No maid service even though we stayed 2 weeks. Guest areas need attention. Pool area perfect and always well kept. Too bad the condo itself was tired and not clean. Well not return."

"A multi family vacation experience
I rented 3 0ne bedroom a one 2 bedroom ocean view condos for my family. My great grand children loved the pool and the little beach area, as did the adults. Our units very clean. comfortable and for most part well stocked. Beautiful views and very quiet at night. The booking agents were very helpful as this trip was supposed to happen last year, but had to be cancelled for health reasons. They were most gracious about making the change. i look forward to another stay at Maui Sunset sometime."

"Beautiful view and very nice accommodations at Maui Sunset
We had a really nice stay at Maui Sunset! My son and I walked down to the beach and enjoyed snorkeling with sea turtles. We also enjoyed the free rental of shuffleboard equipment from the pool desk. Loved waking up early and listening to the birds, enjoying my coffee on the lanai, taking in the view of Haleakala Crater to one side and the ocean on the other. Tenants were respectful and not noisy. I was very impressed with the cleaning staff and how well they kept the grounds looking clean and beautiful as well as cleaning the pool, jacuzzi, pool deck and chairs every morning. I look forward to staying there again on my next trip! Mahalo! :) "

"Overall Great Accommodation and Stay in Kihei
The unit we had was what we expected - decor is a bit dated, so could use an upgrade, but noticed that seemed to be happening in the complex. It would have been nice to be a bit closer to the commercial area of Kihei. Tennis courts were not in great condition. Was great that the units were air conditioned, particularly being in building "A", which gets the sun (at least our unit), most of the day, and the sunset in the evenings was amazing. Pool and grounds exceptionally well maintain, convenient parking. Well supplied kitchen. The addition of scissors would be good. Overall very happy with our unit and stay."

"Wow!!
This was our first trip to Maui & I think we could not have done better. The Condo was clean and well stocked with everything we could have needed, Including beach towels, lawn chairs, and after-sun gel. Every encounter with a staff member, from housekeeping & security through front desk personal was friendly & professional. The unit had a great view of the beach, as well as the common area of the resort. We are already talking about returning next winter. "

Inside needs a little tlc. Ripped curtain, range overhead light didn’t work, ac vent not working properly.

"Repeat Visitor to Maui Sunset
We have enjoyed multiple stays at this great property. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony on a nearby beach and it couldn't have been more perfect!
We are consistently impressed with the meticulous and constant grooming of the grounds, pool and facilities. The activity center at the pool is tended and items are available for loan to play shuffleboard, tennis, bocci ball, etc. Trees and greenery are constantly being trimmed, lawns mowed and cleared of leaves and blossom debris daily. The pool is sparkling clean. It's a great location and convenient to the town of Kihei which has many local beaches and a nice selection of restaurants (NaLu's South Shore Grill & Cafe O'lei are two favorites) and plenty of shopping available."

"Great Family Vacation
We loved our stay at the Maui Sunset! We rented 2 units and had our kids and grandkids join us. The units are in a great location and the resort grounds are beautiful, with the pool, spa, beach and park! Restaurants are an easy walk and the location is pretty central to everywhere. Each unit has a view of the ocean and the sunsets were amazing. Would definitely stay again!"

"Rest & Relaxation
I came to get away from CA and look for property to buy but also snorkel and relax at the beach. The ease of booking is excellent through their website and the property is nicely maintained. The unit I was in, was nice but could use a renovation update. The curtains on the lanai side were thin and the sun was very hot because it did not block out the heat. The AC units worked but because the curtains were thin negated the coolness of the AC. Other than that, it’s a very nice place to stay. It’s a nice quiet getaway location. "

"Amazing
We stood here 10 days and it was the best resort ever. The sunset views and the ocean view was everything. We stood in room A515 and it was comfy and fit our family of 5. Our kids enjoyed the pool as well as the grass area. This was the best place to stay for a big family like ours. Did not have any complaints. There is a kitchen. Washer and dryer as well as a balcony with an amazing view. Will definitely stay here again if we ever return to Maui. So many shops and things to do near by. Love Maui Sunset."

"Maui Sunset A515
We enjoyed our stay at Maui Sunset very much. This was a return visit for us. The suite was clean and comfortable but the kitchen was the least stocked of any condo rental we've had. There was no tin foil, plastic wrap, salt, spices, or laundry soap. The salt and pepper shakers were empty. There were 4 dishwasher soap tablets. We did not expect to have to purchase these basic items. The toaster handle was broken and the outdoor light on the lanai kept shutting off. It would have been nice to have a kettle.
It would be nice to have some outdoor umbrellas available poolside by the loungers, especially for families with young children and seniors."

"Great experience but A/C is on a timer
Overall we had a great visit and although I enjoy the tropical breeze at night not all of the family was as happy. The air con is on a timer and the longest it can run for is 4 hours before switching off so that meant getting up at least once a night to re-set the air con once it went off. This is fine during the daytime but it would be great to have an override on it for night."

Having been a guest of Maui Sunset for many years I was very glad to see that the building and grounds were well maintained and still in great condition. A crack in one of the mirror doors was a concern but the phone supplied did not work and I was unable to report it to the maintenance dept.
Otherwise a great vacation."

The place was clean, spacious and a great location. The only complaint is the air conditioning units are set to shut off every 4 hours. I would wake up in middle of the night to turn it back on. This is the ONLY complaint. "

"Not worth it
We did not have a full ocean view which is what we paid for. We were advised by the front that we originally had a full ocean view but were moved and never explained why. There were dirty towels when we got there. The pull out bed wouldn’t close fully. "

I do not have one single complaint about the Maui Sunset. It was beautiful. Our one bdrm condo was amazing. Very clean. The kitchen was equipped for just about anything you want to cook. The view was beautiful and the grounds are very manicured. Nice beach to walk on."

Excellent laid back vacation. Quiet and peaceful. Remodeled nice condo unit with all amenities supplied. Close to lots of activities in Kehei.If you wander too far away into woods at night there is a homeless problem but I saw that all over in Maui. Never had them wander into the condo complex though."

"Amazing View - Amazing Comfort
My husband and I stayed in this condo, while my brother and his girlfriend stayed in a condo in the opposite building. Huge plus that we were directly across from each other and could wave! Overall, really comfortable place! The view was PERFECT for sunset, and it was a quick walk to so many places. We'll definitely be back! "
