Living the good life at Fairways 1703 with your own exclusive private beach!!

Welcome to your tropical paradise! As the owner of Fairways at Mauna Lani 1703, I wish to provide you with everything you need to enjoy your dream vacation here on the Big Island of Hawaii. You will love our peaceful and quiet villa located in the Fairways, a beautiful and private condo development within the prestigious Mauna Lani Resort. Enjoy our two-bedroom, three-bath property. The development has lush grounds, a hotel size pool (with attached kiddie pool), lava rock waterfall hot tub, fitness room and a recreation pavilion.

Your home, away from home, has room for five with a king sized bed in the primary bedroom and a queen sized bed and toddler bed in the guest bedroom. Both upstairs bedrooms have large private en-suite bathrooms, stocked with full sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The primary bedroom has its own private sitting area and a big lanai perfect for reading that book you’ve been wanting to get to.

The huge fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals to enjoy in the lovely dining room or out on the lanai relaxing in the fresh breezes of paradise. There is a half bathroom downstairs for your convenience as well. The living room comes loaded with comfortable furniture perfect for relaxing and a brand new big screen Smart TV perfect for that family movie night.

Step out of your back door and stroll to our pool and you instantly have access to one of the biggest pools in all of the Mauna Lani Resort! The cascading waterfall brings calm and joy as you soak up the magic of Hawaii in the whirlpool. In the garage, you will find boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach toys, an ice chest and more. Don’t forget to grab them as a short 4 minute drive sends you to my favorite feature of my home and that is your own private white sand beach!!

Your Mauna Lani Beach Club card gives you access to lounge chairs, cabanas, showers, and the Napua Restaurant as well as fantastic snorkeling, all the equipment rentals for your favorite water sports, and soft white sand perfect for relaxing in your own private beach sanctuary! This is a special place that is a unique opportunity for you to have as yours while staying in my home! Right next door, you can stroll through the historic fish ponds on lovely Palm tree shaded hiking paths of this natural gem. Golf is available at 7 nearby world class courses that will challenge your golf game here in paradise. The Shops at Mauna Lani and the Kings and Queens Marketplace provide you with only the finest dining, retail and movie experiences. All are within an easy 10 minute drive. Hapuna Beach State Park is a glorious beach that is consistently rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world and is a 10 minute drive from your front door.

Cancellations of less than ninety (90) days prior to arrival shall forfeit the entire rent and excise tax (less cleaning fees) unless we are able to re-rent the property. Refunds on any forfeiture will be issued the dollar value the unit is re-rented for during the same dates as the canceled reservation. There is no refund for early departure or no shows.

"Beach retreat!
While not on the beach, everything about this condo gives you beach vibes. Super clean and well appointed. For us, it felt like everything was brand new with this place. Beds and pillows were great. Location great in the complex - everything on the listing was provided and more. Cleanest place we've stayed in our last 10 times on the island.

Only wish ... management company was a little less hawkish about damage. We've never damaged a rental and don't ever intend to... be prepared for strong messaging! Also wish for more beach towels! Would not have been enough if there was more than 2 of us. "

"Nice enough.
The kitchen faucet handle was loose and came off during use. The countertop oven didn't work. The dwelling itself and furnishings were very clean with less than normal wear showing. Detailed property instructions were left at the entrance along with various access keys. A/C worked well but was not adjustable. The nearby private beach access was the best thing about this condo even though it was a bit crowded the days we went there."

The community is pretty and quaint. It is not too far from Kona... about 30 minutes. There is plenty to do even closer. The private beach access is really nice, but get there early if you want a chair. Also, if you want to use the gym, the time for guests is limited. We had a great stay, and it was nice to have space and a fully equipped kitchen. I would go back again. "

"Beautiful Location
My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Fairways. Loved the quiet and beautiful daughter and wife really loved the access the private beach. The condo was perfect with the all the extras and I especially loved the grillin a few nights. Management was great with communication and making sure our needs were met. We loved the location as well , a short 1/2 mile walk to market and coffee."

"Problem with Air Conditioning
I stayed at Mauna Lani#1703 with my husband and another couple. When we first booked the property there were discrepancies between the cancellation policy posted on and the one stipulated in the rental agreement. policy stated that cancellations made 60+ days prior to arrival would receive a full refund of our $200 deposit, minus $125 partner fee. The contract they sent through DocuSign stated that the $200 deposit is non-refundable after the booking is made. Knutson agreed to honor the policies posted on the site. Once we arrived at the property, we noticed that the furniture in the living room did not match what was posted on . The washing machine instructions were outdated. The listing stated that the unit had air conditioning but the bedroom at the front of the condo was hot the entire time we were there. The couple sleeping in the front unit was sweltering the entire 5 nights. For the price point listed I expected the air conditioning to be adequate. Also, on the listing the master bedroom and second bedroom were presented as comparable size and quality but that was not the case. The master was excellent, but the second bedroom was small, with a small ensuite and virtually no air conditioning. We were hoping to have a stay where both couples felt pampered, but our experience was not as expected. The kitchen was well equipped but that was a small consolation when the temperature in the upstairs front bedroom was so hot. There was only one AC unit for both the upstairs and downstairs. We turned the unit up in hopes of cooling the hot bedroom but instead, it made the downstairs and the master extremely cold, and the front bedroom stayed warm. I believe the owner should install more AC vents in the front bedroom and include one in the front bathroom too, in hopes of keeping that area comfortable enough for guests to sleep.Overall, the property was not represented accurately on .The manager,Kapena Ortiz, was very responsive and helpful."

"Wonderful time on the Kohala Coast
We had a wonderful time with this rental. We visit the Kohala Coast regularly and have stayed in several different places, but we both agree this is one we're eager to return to. The layout of the rental is great for a couple or for a small family (we were just two this time, but we may come back with our daughter and her spouse). The kitchen is nicely stocked with everything you'd want for either private meals or meals with a small group. There are two lanais - we loved the one on the second floor, off of the master bedroom. The master bathroom is very spacious. All the rooms are well lit, and there is plenty of comfortable seating. The agents were welcoming and attentive.


The complex is relatively small, which is nice. You can walk around the perimeter in about 15 minutes. In the center, there's a very nice pool and hot tub. In terms of location, this is a great spot to be on the Kohala Coast - great restaurants are nearby, and the private beach is just a short drive away. We're looking forward to our next visit!

"Wow, what a special rental!
This townhome was amazing. So spacious, and spotlessly clean. It was stocked with everything we could possibly need and very well organized. It's quite a drive from downtown Kona, but very private and quiet which was nice. My kids and I had tons of space and loved the pool/hot tub area. The beach access card was utilized and enjoyed as well. Would definitely stay again - I've never stayed at another rental like this. Loved that shoes were to be removed upon entry as well; it felt very clean. Thank you! "

"Best Value for Luxury Condo Rental on the Island.
Seller did not "spare the horses" when outfitting this graciously-appointed luxury condo. We appreciated the fully-equipped kitchen, attached garage (that accommodates a mini-van), outdoor cooking and dining setup, generous room sizes, oversized bedrooms both with full private baths, including a master with jetted tub, sitting room and gorgeous views from its own lanai. The private beach was perfect for snorkeling, and we were pleased to discover that everything that we needed to enjoy the private beach was provided. The home was squeaky clean and strategically located close to Shops of Mauna Lani and the King and Queen shops, and only footsteps from views of all five volcanoes. The grounds were adorned with beautiful views, lush trees, flowers and birds and graced with a salt-water pool and hot tub. After comparing the condo to offerings at the Hilton, we soon realized that the value of renting a home-away-from-home like this can't be beat. Without fear of embellishment, we can say that this has been our top vacation lodging. We intend to book this property next year. "

"Amazing!
We had a wonderful stay! We love to stay in this area when we come to the island. The place was very clean. Any questions we had, just a quick text and the property was responsive.

It was well stocked with everything needed.

The beds were a bit firm, but that's something that seems to be the norm in every place we've stayed. It wasn't a deal breaker at all and we would stay again.

Having access to the beach club is so nice. It's a short drive if you don't want to go up/down the coast.

We hope to stay again on our next visit!"

"Fantastic Stay in Paradise
I found this to be a property of distinction! My experience was that Fairways at Mauna Lani 1703 was bigger than I thought it would be. There was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the very well appointed interior. It was full of lovely decorations and furniture throughout each and every room. The layout of the townhome was fabulous. The free flowing movement and natural lighting in this townhome made it a joy to stay in. Everything was spotless in this unit.

Outside the townhome was just as magnificent. The gorgeous garden full of fruit trees just outside the lanais was a peaceful refuge in which to enjoy. Walking through the garden, brought you to a huge pool and hot tub area full of other friendly vacationers with which to chat with. The waterfall near the hot tub only added to the enjoyment.

The resort itself has the amazing private sand beach that you get with booking this townhome. It was a phenomenal beach that had lounge chairs and a top notch restaurant. This beach makes 1703 a special place. I also strolled through the fish ponds right next to the beach. This glorious serene place was one of the highlights of my whole vacation. The Queens Shops were wonderful places to eat and enjoy a movie at the theater.

Overall, I will stay here again without a doubt! No brainer easy decision for me! With its high quality at a fair price, Fairways at Mauna Lani 1703, was the best decision I made in terms of where to stay on the Big Island! "

"Perfect In Every Way
We loved our time at 1703! The home was immaculate and well stocked with everything we needed. It truly feels like a home away from home - in all the best (vacation dreams) ways!! Just wow!

It is a great location-not far from the Kona airport and a great jumping off point for exploring the rest of the island. We spent time in Volcano National Park, the Hilo area and Waimea. Locally, we did a night swim with manta rays, a coffee farm tour, a few trail hikes and a sunset and star gazing experience on Mauna Kea. Between all of that-we spent time at the properties beach area and pool. There is a market nearby for food along with some shops and restaurants. Additionally, just a short drive away is the Queen’s Shops for a larger selection of local shops and a movie theater.

We will definitely be back! "

"Beautiful rental and community!
The condo rental itself was better than expected. It was clean, luxurious, convenient, and had a nice layout. There was plenty of space for a single family. The balcony overlooks a beautiful garden with amazing plants and birds. It was so relaxing to just sit and look at it while breathing in the fresh air. The grounds of the condos are better than what the pictures seem to indicate. The community is gated and the grounds are green and colorful. In and around this community is safe and perfect for jogging or going for a walk. It is basically heaven on earth. The coastal beach region essentially has perfect weather day and night, and the wind seems to be the thing to make or break the day. Windy days make the beach difficult. Kids will love very nearby Hāpuna Beach. Mauna Kea Beach (Koana’oa Beach) is nicer and calmer, but parking is very scarce. Beach 69 is ok if you don’t need the direct sunlight on the sand. It is a calm cove with very casual snorkeling and a lot of shade on the shoreline. Just buy a day pass if you want to use the Hilton pools. Don’t stay there, because it’s overrated and touristy. Fairways is a far superior base camp. The Beach Club beach wasn’t that great compared to any of these beaches and pools, but it was ok for something easy and quick. I’m sure the food at the Beach Club was good (it smelled good), although I didn’t eat there. There is a grocery store in walking distance that is fine for stocking the fridge. The local pool and hot tub are decent and good if you don’t have time for some other major experience. It is nice just to chill in the perfect weather and surroundings and appreciate that it is much better than back home. Overall, the stay, the community, and the island of Kona are perfect and exceeded all expectations. It felt like home away from home. My only regret was having to leave. I will return!"

"Great Place!
Staying at the Fairways at Mauna Lani was the perfect location in the Waikoloa area. It is a short drive to the Kona area, and easy access to Hilo for those that want to make the 70 minute drive to the other side of the island. The condo was spacious and well equipped. We used the beach pass to the Beach Club, and the pool within the complex was very nice. The condo is well maintained, and very clean. We utilized the beach chairs (and umbrella) found in the garage and provided beach towels each day. This was our second time at this property, and we hope to return again soon! Mahalo!"

"Our home away from home!
This property at the Fairways is very well appointed and had all the amenities of home (and more!). When we visit the Big Island, we always book a Mauna Lani property. It is a more exclusive area (vs. Waikaloa) and the highlight for us is having access to the private beach club where we enjoy snorkeling and having lunch at their awesome restaurant (Napua). We also love to walk down to the Fairmont Orchid and have some meals at their restaurant (although we enjoy cooking at the unit as well). The property itself was very well maintained, nicely furnished and well equipped - they even had beach towels, chairs, noodles, boogie boards, a cooler, water bottles,etc. so we didn't have to buy anything for the beach!

The Fairways also has a beautiful pool, gym and hot tub, if you choose to stay put.

The check in process was seamless and their property manager, Kapena, was most responsive and kept in touch throughout our stay. I 100%+ recommend this place! The one thing worth mentioning though is that both bedrooms of the unit are upstairs, we didn't mind it but it might be an issue for someone who has trouble climbing stairs."
