This 2 bedroom 2 bath condo has everything you need to relax in paradise! Enjoy ocean views and gorgeous Kona sunsets from your private lanai.
The well appointed kitchen is fully equipped to comfortably prepare meals/drinks and the spacious living room is perfect for entertaining.
There is seating for 4 at the indoor dining table and additional seating for 4 on the lanai if you prefer.
The master bedroom has a deluxe king size bed with private bathroom and access to the lanai. Both bedrooms have ocean views to remind you that you're in paradise! There are air conditioning units and ceiling fans throughout the condo so everyone can feel comfortable and cool off from the Hawaii sun. Unit has been completely remodeled and upgraded with new bathrooms and kitchen appliances and finishes including vinyl plank flooring, quartz countertops, all appliances and lighting; bathroom vanities and fixtures. Beautiful!

The Kona Makai complex is a beautifully maintained & highly sought after Ocean Front Complex located on famous Alii Drive, just 1.3 miles from Kona town. This wonderful complex features beautifully manicured tropical grounds, heated ocean front pool and spa, sunny lounge area, two work out rooms, eating area w/ gas BBQ’s, tennis courts, ping pong table, communal library, ample parking, and is gated during the night for security.

The contractor plans on beginning spalling repairs on building 2 on September 9th , 2024 at 8:00 am. They plan to set up a scaffold at the oceanside end of the building and they will begin work on the column supporting landings in the stairwell. As they proceed, they will be working on leading edges of lanais on both sides of the building, windowsills, walls, and stairs throughout the building. When building 2 is complete they plan on moving to building 1 and then building 6.

Noise and obstructed views are also to be expected between the dates mentioned.

The painting and spalling contractor has agreed to take a break from work for Ironman and the Christmas holidays. Work will stop from October 21st-29th for Ironman. Work will stop from December 23rd- January 3rd for the Holidays

All dates are subject to change and has no say or control in if dates are changed. Dates are given by the complex's hired painting vendor.

The mentioned work will be affecting access to units at possible given times between the work being done on the building. Kona Makai will be sending notices of more specific dates that access will be affected between work hours. We unfortunately cannot provide any given dates for this. Other areas such as lanai access will be affected during times as well. Furthermore the AC will also not be allowed during specific times/dates when the work is going on.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made ninety (90) days or more prior to arrival shall not be responsible for the final balance of the reservation. The $200 deposit made at the time of booking is non refundable after the booking is made. Cancellations of less than ninety (90) days prior to arrival shall forfeit the entire rent and excise tax (less cleaning fees) unless we are able to re-rent the property. Refunds on any forfeiture will be issued the dollar value the unit is re-rented for during the same dates as the canceled reservation. There is no refund for early departure or no shows.

This rental unit was very well equipped complete with everything as advertised and more. Every little detail was anticipated with the supplies provided. "Peaceful Paradise
This lush property was very peaceful and family friendly. The grounds were very lush and well cared for. The oceanfront location is great...only a mile from the town. The inside of the property was newly renovated in very lovely decor. When a small issue came up with the property, the manager had it taken care of within 2 hours.

We enjoyed all the shopping, snorkeling, the manta ray dive and coffee plantations. I highly recommend the new Ola brewery. They have great food and drinks. The Kona Hotel really does have a great happy hour with beautiful views and amazing Mai Tais. We can't wait to go back!"

"Kona retreat
The rental was in a great area. Lovely views and amenities. One issue was that the master shower drain was not working. Called the property management and they did nothing about it. The people who were there the week before wrote about the same issue and it was not corrected by the time we arrived. When we first got there the toilet was in the hallway. They did finally correct that the next day. "

"Kona Condo in Kona Makai
Getting into the community was a challenge because we were never given the gate code, if we were it wasn't easily found on the documents given to us. Also, including a map of the development would be super helpful for guests coming for the first time and late at night. We coulndt see the building numbers and had no idea where we were going. We had also traveled from PA and had had a very long, tiring day. More details would have been so helpful. On the check in info it said to look or lane 7? That never made sense to us. The condo itself was totally amazing and we will definitely be back. "

"Our home away from home - in paradise
We spent 7 nights at this really nice condo. And we enjoyed every minute of it there. As soon as we walked in, we thought - wow, what a nice and comfortable place to live - and were sorry to leave.

There were plenty of amenities such as beach stuff to use (and we also left our beach bag we bought during our stay - too big to take back), plently of towels, and even some toilettries which we did not have to buy (thanks to those before us, we also left a few things to use), a very comfortable bed with awesome pillows (will try to get some of these back to Germany where we live), a spacious kitchen, washer/dryer (very helpful), 2 extra condo keys so you did not have to use the one in the little keybox next to the enterance of the condo and A/C in 3 rooms. The living room was also very comfortable. You could hear the ocean from the master bedroon. And we made steaks on the "community" Weber grill, which were absolutely delicious. AND saw spinner dolphins in the ocean from the lanai. The whole place is nicely decorated.

We treated this place as if it was our own. And were very sorry when our vacation was over. Could easily have stayed a much longer time.

There were only 2 issues, but Knutson & Assoc. took care of these little things very quickly.

Just for the future guests, be sure to always wipe down the counter and clean the sink as the tiny little ants will find even the smallest of sweet crumbs.

If we ever come back, we will look into this unit again. "
