"Enhancing Experience: A Great Stay with Room to Grow
I wanted to offer some feedback after our recent stay at Shorewood 202 over Labor Day.
First, I’d like to say that the location is absolutely perfect, and the condo is well-stocked, even including a wine cooler, which we appreciated. Overall, we had a great stay.
However, there were a few areas of concern that I’d like to bring to your attention:
- The air vents appear to have a buildup of dust, particularly the return vent behind the hallway door.
- The balcony could use a good pressure washing as there were noticeable black spots.
- The beds really need some attention, including the quality of the pillows. For us, this was the biggest disappointment.
- Additionally, the exhaust fan in the guest bathroom is quite loud and disruptive, almost sounding like a screaming goat.
We loved many aspects of our stay, but these areas definitely impacted our experience. I hope this feedback is helpful for future guests.

"Great Location and Beautiful Views
This is our fourth time staying at a Shorewood condo and we love the layout and amenities of each of the properties. This particular condo was well stocked with everything that we needed.
We felt that this condo was not as clean as the others and overall could use to be freshened up with painting every room. Mold is starting to build on the ceiling above the shower in the master bathroom and should be addressed very soon before it worsens."

We had another fantastic stay on HHI. This year we stayed at Shorewood 202 for first time and we had a wonderful stay. The view is amazing and we really enjoyed eating lunch on the balcony.The kitchen and appliances are great. Seashore vacations once again was great to work with, we have stayed at Shorewood and have booked through Seashore vacations many times and they are always easy to work with. We plan on returning next year! "

"Beautiful View but that’s all.
Beautiful view and nice kitchen. Living room furniture was uncomfortable and dirty. Patio table was too big and heavy. Master bedroom bed was so lumpy you could barely sleep. Pillows and blankets dirty,we went out and bought our own. Second bedroom same way and tv didn’t work because there was no cable box. Would never rent from this owner again and told the realtor that. "

The location of the condo, the view and the property management was excellent. I would stay at this location again, just not this condo.
The condo itself needed updated, painted, cleaned. All of the furniture was worn and dirty. All of the beds need new mattresses."

We stayed at Shorewood 202 The week of June 17th. The room was very clean with a beautiful view of the beach and the pool. Our kids love their pool. The walk to the beach is easy and it’s a quick walk/bike ride to coligany and all the shops and places to eat. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it."

Very much enjoyed a relaxing week at Shorewood condo. Parked our car and walked to nearby restaurants and shops. Strolled the wide beach and spent time at the pool.
Rental office responded very quickly to our requests at move in. Only suggestion to owner is better silverware. We only found 3 forks!
As older adults, we found the outdoor chairs difficult to get into. Such is life!"

"Fantastic Location
Shorewood Villas has to be one of the very best locations on HHI. Right on the beach! Beautiful pool and hot tub. Grounds are absolutely beautiful and very well maintained.
Unit #202 has many much needed upgrades and maintenance issues. There were 14 dinner knives but only 4 forks & 4 spoons. There were 18 dinner plates. Torn and stained blanket on the king bed. Sofa was like sitting in a bowl of Jell-O. Light fixtures hanging loose from the ceiling. Heat/AC vents rusted and loose from the wall. Musty smell as you walked in. Outside balcony & furniture stained with wax on the table. Kitchen table rocks. Bottom of the bathroom doors have water damage. However, the appliances are great as is the ice maker. The view is the saving grace of this unit. Shops and restaurants (try the Sandbar) within walking distance. Would certainly stay at Shorewood and will use (Property Management) but would never stay in #202. "

"Accommodation not exceptable
The view from deck and condo of course beautiful. As for the inside of condo. When arriving the condo didn’t appear we began checking first the master bed mattress had a yellow foam pad it was damp in between mattress cover we removed all and found horrible stains all on mattress top. We also found it was not stable and firm. The chair is stained in master bedroom. The master bath water leaks out from bottom when showering. Miguel came to check since bottom condo complained said had to get in touch with owner to fix never heard back continued leaking. The living room furniture had sand flees all in it when temps got warmer came out we had to cover all furniture with covers to sit. Unfortunately we do not feel for what we paid for 18 day stay was acceptable and comfortable. Wish we would have known before and would have liked money refund for the dirty living spaces.also the spare bedroom you couldn’t have someone stay the beds are awful. We actually left a day early to go home.
I have found other reviews stating the same on this condo and feel the owners either are not being made aware or just don’t care.

"Beautiful view
We have stayed in many rentals in Shorewood and Ocean One in South Forest Beach! The location is ideal! The view from our window of the ocean was beautiful! We saw many colorful sunrises from our balcony! I wish the owners of this condo would spend a night or two in their condo to identify small fixes that would improve this rental to spectacular! "

"Nice 2nd Floor Ocean Front View!
Nice location, ocean front view, easy access to pool and beach. Condo was roomy and nice. Kitchen was well equipped. Walk in shower was nice. King size bed needs a new mattress and paint touch-ups. For the price it should be in better condition. We have stayed in other condos at Shorewood that were better maintained."

"Great location, but needs work
Pros: The location is perfect. The pool was great & the kids had a blast every day. We had some concerns with the condo, and the rental company was very responsive & helpful.
Cons: The condo needs some repairs & a deep cleaning. None of the beds are in good shape. The headboards are very loose & make a ton of noise. There was no getting out of bed & not disturbing each other even after the rental company tried to help.
The kitchen utensils/cookware are old & many are rusty. The cabinets/drawers had dirt/residue in the them and could really use at least linens. The doors to the bathrooms have water damage at the bottom. The master shower leaks water in the floor. The air vents are in bad shape. The dresser in the 2nd bedroom is hard to use/broken drawer. The closets were unorganized - pillows just thrown on the floor, stuff falling out when you open the doors. The kitchen cabinets have dust caked on the tops where they have not been cleaned. The sheets on all the beds are cheap, stiff, and uncomfortable. The patio area was not even swept & the cushions are all dirty. The condo never felt welcoming...
We stay in houses/condos every summer. We have always had a good experience with owners leaving personal touches to make you feel welcomed.
This rental could use lots of organization. For example, all cabinets in the kitchen were full. There wasn't even one we could use. The rental company did come in and reorganize so we had some space. But there wasn't even a muffin tin, so it's not like it is filled with usable items. It is just odd.
Overall, if you are ok with mediocre accommodations, you will love to view, location, and pool. I also appreciated the rental companies attempt to help and even bringing disposables we could use."

"Disappointed and especially so for the price...
The villa is in good condition, very clean, and a great location but not exactly what the picture shows with regards to the furniture. The beds are broken down. The master king size bed is like sleeping on a sack of door knobs. The sides of the mattress are broken down to the point of making it difficult to get the fitted sheet on or keeping it on. The second bedroom beds have ill fitting foam blocks on top of the mattress' to compensate for being worn out I guess. But it was like putting lipstick on a pig. Don't expect anything close to a restful night of sleep here. Had to buy two bed sheets at Walmart to put over the living room couches as they are very heavily stained/filthy. There are two different (using the pictures as reference) yellow club chairs by the windows that are getting thread bare. The TV's are old and offer only the most basic cable service. The living room TV has bad sound and picture quality. The master bedroom TV is small, almost impossible to operate, and looks like its seen better days. We've stayed at (Property Management) properties in the past and been very happy. But 202 Shorewood was a disappointment, especially so considering the price. We've been coming to Hilton Head in the summer for over 30 years now. We can't recommend this property until they replace the mattress' and update the furniture. "

"Great location, nice beachfront condo!
We had a great stay at 202 Shorewood. The location to Coligny plaza was a definite plus for our family. It was just a few minute walk to the many restaurants and shops there. Loved that this condo is beachfront with a great view of the ocean and partial view of the complex's pool, which was very nice. We really appreciated the updated kitchen (well stocked, just a little short on spoons), updated bathrooms, and newer washer/dryer. What was lacking was the cleanliness...I went over the countertops with Clorox wipes, and they were definitely not cleaned well. In addition, the master bedroom sheets had crumbs of dirt/sand on them when we went to bed the first night. So we felt the need to clean all of the bedding! Not sure if they were not washed, or if the quilt was thrown on a dirty floor and then put back on the bed over new sheets, but in any case we felt better just washing everything. Also, the living room sofas could use a good deep cleaning, and the master bedroom mattress definitely needs to be replaced. But overall this unit worked nicely for our family and we enjoyed the week in Hilton Head!"

"Veteran Travelers to HHI
Overall I would say our stay in HHI was awesome as usual. We usually stay at Ocean One but unfortunately all was booked by the time I started looking. Was excited to find a place at Shorewood. The complex was nice and I did enjoy the pool. however, as adults with older children we do prefer to have more of a deep end to the pool. When arriving in the condo, I felt it had a musty smell to it but seemed to dissipate over time. May have been the cleaning products due to covid or my nose getting use to the smell. The beds are all very uncomfortable, hard and squeaky and in need of an update. It also advertised a pull out couch but there was none and it appeared to have 2 full beds in the second bedroom but it was a full and twin.
The master bed had a headboard but it was not attached to the bed so every time we turned over or made a slight move it banged against the wall. The cleaning people did not do a very good job in the shower of the master as my husband found hair over the drain that was definitely not ours as it was the first shower in that bathroom. I would have also preferred a keurig coffee pot. Again, we love hilton head and will definitely be back, but wont be looking to stay in that exact property."

"Shorewood 202
We have stayed in Shorewood on many occasions while vacationing in HHI. It is our favorite location. This condo is pretty and has recently been updated. Paint and doors have been replaced. My only concern is that the condo could have been cleaner. It was dusty as well as the cabinet, door and refrigerator handles need to be sanitized. Also, the temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer had been increased to 54 degrees and 42 degrees. We did not realize it until we had placed our food in the fridge and freezer and realized items were not getting cold. The milk spoiled and we were concerned about eating some items. If this is a common practice and then this should be disclosed to renters."

"Beautiful view but needs updating
Checked in on a Sunday so we were just left an envelope with instructions we had to collect from a nearby office. There are codes for everything but we didn't know there was one for the front door as others we spoke to had actual keys. Apartment was a good size situated in a pleasant, clean complex with a beautiful view. Overall, it was satisfactorily clean but dated. The couches and cushions were grubby and the chair arms threadbare. The patio furniture and master bed mattress need to go. Whilst the provided white linen was spotless the quilt cover and bed pillows haven't been cleaned in some time. The bath in the main bathroom doesn't drain and the blind in the master is broken. I called the number in the welcome envelope to report these things on the Monday only to discover that the letting agency didn't cover our apartment at all. Obtained the correct number and left a message for Katie who I was told was the property manager but nobody ever called back. So, sadly we had no view from our bedroom all week.
Overall, I'd stay again because the location was gorgeous and a short walk to Coligny Plaza but hopefully by the time we return some updates will have been done."

"Clean, and Convenient
Check in and check out was super convenient with the app. The room was very clean, and plenty of cookware was available for making dinner for a night or two. Only complaint I can think of is that the bed was terrible. You could literally feel every spring, and it was extremely uncomfortable, if the owners dropped $600 on a new mattress it would totally transform the sleeping experience! Having a balcony on the Ocean is super amazing, and the view was wonderful! "

This is a beautiful condo with a gorgeous view, convenient location. It was clean, attractively decorated and well maintained. We just used the master bedroom which had a comfortable king size bed. "Beautiful view and property
This is a very nice property. Fabulous views, pool, jacuzzi etc. This is a small unit probably best to not try to put too many oeoplw in it. The owners are very thoughtful leaving many items for renter use and a notebook with a lot of helpful information. Be careful with the door lock. I thought I was setting a night lock when I was actually overriding and disabiling the lock feature. Great if you are coming in and out a lot when arriving or leaving but be sure its locked at other timea. Very nice clean unit. Would rent again. Blessings to you all."

"Weekend Getaway
This condo was perfect for our fall getaway. Since we have 2 young children, it was really nice to be oceanfront with great views so we could enjoy the ocean while the kids were napping! It's a beautiful space. Our only complaints were that the pool was closed for maintenance during our stay which was disappointing (it is beautiful!), and we couldn't get the master bedroom tv to work (maybe a user error. no big deal though). We did enjoy the hot tub though. The highlight for my toddler was the little goldfish pond on the main level. This location was an easy walk to Coligny Plaza and all the bike trails. Super easy to bike or walk to breakfast, coffee, etc. It was very clean, and our check in was a breeze. Would definitely return to this spot. "

Overall it was a very nice stay. The condo location and the view from the deck and master are excellent. The condo is nicely appointed but the living room chairs could use to be re-upholstered or replaced. Some things I didn't like were the fact that the TV in bedroom 2 didn't have any cable. The remote for the TV in the master bedroom was missing batteries. The dishes didn't look so clean so we cleaned them before we used them. The bathroom fans were very noisy. The headboard for the bed in the master was loose and needed to be tightened as well. "

"2017 Beach Vacation
3rd yr. staying at Shorewood. Previous 2 units were great. Well maintained and very clean. We were very disappointed with 202. It was not clean and unit in need of professional upgrade. Beds in 2nd bedroom very uncomfortable and sheets did not fit. Someone painted over wallpaper and it looked tacky. Microwave reported failed on Mon and not replaced until Fri. Complex also appeared to be going downhill. Main gate stood open all week. No need for code. Patio had too much furniture and smelled of cigarettes. Master bath sink did not drain properly and leaked. Stopper did not work."

Our vacation was amazing except for our toddler was able to open the front door on her own and leave the 2nd floor and make it to the 3rd. My only suggestion to the property owner would be a deadbolt or chain lock from inside. Other than this the unit and complex was amazing and would definitely rent through (Property Management) and Shorewood.."

"Awesome condo!! Great location, views and kitchen/bathrooms
We stayed here over the week of July 4th. We booked before the kitchen and baths were renovated so we were very happy with the upgrades for the price. Kitchen and baths are awesome as well as the balcony and quality of the table out there. Previous reviews complained about curtains which are now new. They have plenty of beach chairs and an umbrella or two if you want to conserve space in your car. Couch is fine, it's a beach rental after all. Very nicely decorated. We really enjoyed the condo and would rent again. Only advice is that with the kitchen Reno, you have trash cans built in so you may want to remove the stainless one to provide more room near the washer/dryer and pantry."

Seashore was very easy to work with and responded quickly to a couple of minor issues.
The only real issue we had was people in a neighboring condo who smoked a lot on the patio and limited our ability to use ours."

"Fun at the beach
We really love the location of this condo and the ocean views are great! The condo also has a lot of amenities for the renters to use (i.e. fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs, umbrella, etc.). However, the furniture in the living room, carpet and curtains could definitely use some updating. "

It was good. I was disappointed in the window in the bedroom (the right slider window) because it was fogged up between the glass (needed to be replaced) and the handle was completely broken. I got the ocean front condo to look at the ocean but I couldn't see it from the master bed. The unit was clean and the kitchen was well appointed and the washer/dryer was great. Location was great, right on the beach."

We were very pleased with the condo unit 202 Shorewood. The view was everything they said it would be. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen/bathrooms were very clean. All of the amenities of home were included. I really liked having the dolleys available to carry our belongings from our car to the unit. The pool and Jacuzzi were very nice. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. The restaurants in the area were excellent. The traffic was heavier than we expected, so we didn't use our bicycles as much. Wished we could have ridden our bikes to the South Beach area or the lighthouse. The beach was so nice, that's where we chose to stay the majority of our stay."

"Wished I didn't have to leave
Perfect view, wanted to eat every meal on the patio. Perfect location, nothing like walking on the beach to go to breakfast every morning. Walking distance to shopping and dinner restaurants also. Equipped with everything you need for a week(DVD player did not work). This unit was everything I expected and hope to return someday, was a very memorable vacation."

"Perfect Location!
We stayed four nights at this great condo and it just wasn't long enough! Shorewood is the perfect location and unit 202 was a great location with in the complex. The second floor view was beautiful while not having to use the elevator or climb a lot of stairs. We were very happy with the condo itself. The kitchen is beautifully updated and well stocked. While the rest of the unit could use a little bit of updating and freshening up, it was clean and it wouldn't stop me from renting here again. My only complaint was that we didn't have more time! "

"Perfect spot
Sandy did not bother us.Interesting golf clubs and we found 3 good restaurants. Access to the beach was perfect.We had a very secured bike ride up to Harbour Town.The pool at Shorewood was perfect with heated water.The appartment was well built with nice decoration. We hear a few time people upstairs walking but it was not major.We will return most probably in the fall. "

The location is great with easy access to the beach and pool. The kitchen has been upgraded and is beautiful and well appointed, but the rest of the unit needs some work. There is a lot of "stuff" in the rooms, especially the closet in the second bedroom which can not be used, the doors are bulging out because of all the beach equipment stored in it, useable or not, needs purging. Bathrooms could use an upgrade as well."
