"Michael Adno, May 2024
Absolutely loved the place and was so grateful for the chance to stay in Haena, one of the most beautiful communities I've ever visited. It's a deeply special place, and so is this property."

"Treehouse for two
A comfortable and small functional treehouse perfect for two. A main house shares the property occupying the front and entry to the property. A short walk to the beach."

"A Great Treat
The rental description says it all. The only addition I would make is "it's quiet!". There are no surprises. Its easy to get in. Its easy to park. Its easy to walk to the beach. The property is well capitalized; the kitchen has all the pots and pans and plates and glasses you need. It has a rice cooker and both kinds of coffee makers. The management company responds to queries rapidly and kindly. They have beach chairs and boogie boards. "

"Awesome rental
Everything was great: location, the place, the amenities furnished. Would love to stay here again. "

"Spacious, Beautiful, Comfortable
A second-story 1-bedroom apartment on stilts, on a property shared with two other, larger homes (all detached). During our stay ours was the only occupied home on the property. The home is beautiful and comfortable with all the amenities you would hope for (kitchen, laundry, etc), and in close proximity to Tunnels Beach. It’s a bit off the beaten path up here on the north shore, but that’s the appeal. There is a hotel/restaurant in walking distance if you’d like a night out. Keep in mind that the drive out here is long and traverses several one-lane bridges, so be prepared for traffic. Only complaint: the roosters will wake you up EARLY. If you’re a night owl you might want someplace that’s better soundproofed."

"Wonderful secluded property
I thoroughly enjoyed my vacation at this wonderful property. The location was perfect for me, just a short walk to a beautiful, almost deserted beach. The property was beautifully appointed with lovely decor, extremely clean with a well equipped kitchen providing everything you could possibly need. If you are looking for a more secluded vacation await from the more touristic areas, this place is perfect . The host was extremely receptive and helpful. Would definitely return if lucky enough. Highly recommend. "

"5 * experience at the Treehouse
My wife and I could not have been more pleased with this hidden gem. Our first trip to Kauai, I was not certain where to stay, we found the perfect place. Couldn't have picked a better location.
The Treehouse itself was perfect for us. All the amenities, lots of space, quiet, private(there was Noone in the main house). Close to beaches, fun drive to get there and the views were amazing. I would recommend this to all my friends, acquaintances or anyone looking for a couples getaway to Kauai."

"perfect for a much needed getaway
This property was perfect for a much needed romantic getaway. We felt like locals during our stay and could imagine living on the property. it’s tucked away in a residential neighborhood and a short walk to a public beach entrance. Very quiet and serene. It rained during half of our stay, but we loved hearing the rain on the rooftop and feeling like we were in a tropical rainforest. The views of the mountain were amazing. The windows and skylights let in so much light. Everything was clean and tidy, intuitive and easy to find. We made use of the beach towels and the aloe stored in the hall closet. It was definitely a pleasant surprise to find that after a day on a boat and a pretty good sunburn. The shower was cool and comfortable, and extremely moody. The towels were soft and fluffy. I’d like to purchase a set of the sheets that were on the bed. They were so nice and cozy. I’m so glad we chose this property over other options. We felt we had much more comfort, space and privacy. Instructions and tips for our stay were clear and well defined. Light switches were all clearly labeled so we’d know what is what. The garbage cabinet was a little hard to open, but a strong tug would usually do the trick. The kitchen was well supplied and stocked with useful utensils, appliances and dishes. The idea of Crossing the bridges to the residence caused us some anxiety, but it really is such a breeze to figure out. Most drivers we encountered followed the courtesy rules, and followed posted speed limits. With only a two lane(sometimes one lane) road in the area, we were forced to let go of our aggressive, frantic SF city driving expectations and really slow down, chill, enjoy the scenery and live in the moment. It was a welcome reprieve. We want to thank (Property Manager) for a 5 star vacation stay!

"Lovely magical escape
Had a fantastic 5 days in February end.
Weather and accommodations were perfect. Comfortable bed. Gorgeous kitchen and bath. Need to bring your own oils and spices if you plan to cook.
Location was lovely and remote. 5 min walk to long walkable beach.
Had a lovely time. Watch for the early AM roosters. Bring your ear plugs.

"Amazing Magical Hone
We had an incredible experience staying at Makana Kauai properties. The treehouse was immaculate and exactly as described. The staff was attentive when we needed something and extremely responsive. It is exactly as pictured and a real gem of a property. Highly recommend this company and this home for a magical visit to Kauai. "

"Great getaway
Great, tranquil experience in Haena. Bit tricky to access Kalalua and Ke’e with permit system. Would be great if this could be easier for those staying local. "

"Highlight of our vacation!
Our stay in the Haena treehouse was the highlight of our vacation to the Hawaiian islands! We split our accommodations between 4* and 5* hotels and rental properties to get a good variety. The treehouse blew the others away! The unit itself is beautiful and it is located in an idyllic neighborhood far away from the flocks of tourists. It is a convenient walk to Tunnels beach and other attractions like Limahuli Gardens and the state park. At night the stars are wonderful since you are so far removed from any light pollution. Stay here if you want a magical experience during your Hawaiian vacation!"

My wife and I had a relaxing and wonderful eight days."

"A wonderful and beautiful place!
Perfect location just a walk away from fantastic beaches on Kaua‘i‘s north shore. The tree house was bigger than it looked like on the pictures. It was impeccably clean when we arrived. Communication was excellent, super quick responses. Lots of beach gear available, and if you have a bigger party you can also rent the bigger house on the same property. Both share a nice lush green garden for kids to play!"

"Incredibly Relaxing Stay at Haena Tree House
We were delighted to stay at the Haena Treehouse for 4 days in December. It was the perfect escape for my husband and I. Just what we needed after a long 2020. The house was perched up high which gave us that idyllic jungle-treehouse feeling as well as a gorgeous view of the mountains from the living room and master bedroom. I opened my eyes each morning to a view of the rich deep greens of the sheer mountains and a tumbling waterfall. It was absolute magic! The lanai off of the master bedroom was a perfect and serene place to have our morning coffee while enjoying the breathtaking views and the sound of the waves crashing in the background. The space was meticulously clean and very comfortable with AC in both the living room and the bedroom, though we barely used it because it was on the cool side while we were there. The wooden jealousies open up for a generous breeze, which we prefer over AC, but it was nice to have both options. The jealousies give the option to create an open feeling to the space by opening the windows or closing them to give more privacy. The only house really visible is the main house next door, which was not occupied during our stay so we kept them open most of the time. Tunnels Beach (which is a 2 minute drive/ 5 minute bike ride / 10 minute walk away from the Haena Treehouse) is my favorite beach on the planet! It has to be one of the most beautiful places one can experience. Even the rainier days were enjoyable as we could read and hangout comfortably in the covered outdoor lounging spaces. The outdoor BBQ area was great with a beautiful yard space and some cushy chairs. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were happy to be able to cook all weekend since there weren’t too many restaurants open in Hanalei. The beach equipment was also brand new and we were stoked on the cooler provided. We did not want to leave and we are excited to come back again with a larger group to also enjoy the main house next door. It's an amazing prop"

"Heavenly Ha'ena Tree House
We had a great stay at the Haena Tree House. Loved the interior colors and materials. Very relaxing feel. Cold A/C. The beach was a very easy walk. We hope to stay here again."

"Dark Damp and MOLDY
The house was very musty and dark. If you have allergies to mold or mildew DO NOT STAY HERE. (Property Manager) was very helpful and friendly but I wasn’t able to get a refund and couldn’t afford to rent a different place. My nose is still swollen shut. We tried sleeping out side and were eaten up by mosquitos. My one and half year old’s face is covered in bites, he looks like he has the chicken pox. It’s so dark in the bed room that even with all the lights on you can’t see what is in your suitcase. "
