Salty Dolphin offers great outdoor living spaces, with a huge wrap-around deck, loungers, a large umbrella, gas and charcoal grills, outdoor dining area, two outdoor showers, a pergola for shade, and a second level deck with a second outdoor dining set, and a built in bench for spectacular outdoor entertaining.

You enter Salty Dolphin into the spacious, newly renovated kitchen/living/dining/bar area, as well as a full bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. The 11’ quartz island, with built in oven and range with overhead ventilation, seats six comfortably. The large dining area accommodates at least eight and also hosts a built in wet bar. This family room has a couch, love seat and chair, in addition to a large custom built-in cabinet, which hosts a 55” flat screen television. From this level, you can enter the sundeck, hosting the second outdoor dining area, and built in seating bench. The views from the deck are truly spectacular. The ocean is 50 yards away and you can see the pure beauty of Eleuthera.

Just walk across the street and down our private path, and you’re on the beautiful pink sand of French Leave Beach (also known as Club Med Beach, for the Club Med that was located there many years ago). Nearby Activities in Governors Harbour

Governor's Harbour is the main town on the island of Eleuthera, with a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is safe and friendly. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks and bikes. There is excellent sightseeing, as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, and a bottomless ocean hole.

Things To Do in Governors Harbour

For most people who make the trip to Eleuthera, the island of freedom, they come for its peace and serenity -- that feeling of being far removed from the rest of the world. One of the best things about Eleuthera is that you'll almost always have a beach to yourself. And the sand is pink! You can go swimming and snorkeling and see stingrays and other aquatic life here. The Glass Window Bridge is one of the coolest spots to visit on the island. The Ocean Hole is a spot you'll never forget.. read more

"Family week
The house was spacious and very well equipped. It was very clean and in a nice quiet area right across from the beach. Easy trail to walk to the beautiful white sand beach. Carol was awesome! We lost power and the generator kicked right on. After a short time the generator went off, messaged Carol and she was at the house and had the generator going within 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again! If there is anything negative, it would be that the WiFi didn't seem to work, but it could have been due to Hurricane Milton and the high winds we experienced during our stay. "

"Great Stay
Right across the street from the most beautiful beach. Living space is very comfortable and kitchen is easy to work in. Love the upstairs space and the deck upstairs for sunsets. Paddle boards were fun to have and there are plenty of beach chairs and water floats. "

"Salty Dolphin Review
I have been to the island a handful of times and have to say, in terms of location, you cannot beat Salty Dolphin. I want to give a massive shoutout to Daniel, who handles maintenance. He helped us handle the generator as the power was out island-wide for most of our stay. He also made multiple trips to the house with refills for the water dispenser. The dispenser had a slow leak, so for him to make multiple trips at night was truly appreciated. The generator was a lifesaver, and you can tell the owners have ensured they got the right generator to power this massive house for hours on end. We talked with many other visitors throughout the week who were not as lucky, so I highly encourage you to consider this, as it will be a must-have deal breaker in our future visits to the island. The house was huge and would be great for large families or groups. We only had four in our group, which made it nice to spread out to different parts of the house. The house itself could use a few updates, but all in all had more than enough luxuries to make a pleasant stay. The SUPs are brand new and were a highlight for us each day at the beach. The pics do not do this house justice, as the beach is a 20-second walk across the street and was even easier to access than when had expected. The pool was great for early morning and evening dips before and after the beach. I had seen many people complain about bad "no see ums," but I never noticed them at all, and we spent a lot of time on the decks. Salty Dolphin should be on your shortlist for rental selections. "

"Great House
The house was located 100 ft from a perfect beach. Easy drive to groceries, drinks and a few places to eat if you are not cooking in. The kitchen area was huge. Bedrooms and bathrooms were really nice. Everything was really clean! I loved every minute. For me, the roofdeck at sunset was a great place to end the day."

"Calling all swimmers!
Idyllic location steps from an amazing beach for swim, SUP, kayak! House interior good but exterior tired; deck floorboards would benefit from refinishing. Glimpses of ocean from front of house; rear looks onto a marsh. Issue with hot water resulted in cold showers. Advertised paddle boards unusable(leaked, missing key parts)which had been key attraction. Nice beach chairs and kitchen well equipped. Carol is terrific! "

Had a great week relaxing and a great house."

"So pretty!
The house is beautiful. We had a party of 6, 3 couples, and it was perfect. The kitchen is very well stocked, and what they didn’t have, didn’t matter much, we made it work. We cooked every morning and maybe two dinners. The location is great, right in the center of the island and on a great beach. I highly recommend the property. Sabrina, the housekeeper and the maintenance person were all very responsive. There was no time when we were confused about anything. Sabrina provided a very detailed list of everything we needed to know about the island. "

"Amazing Salty Dolphin July 2022
We stayed at the Salty Dolphin July 23-30, 2022. It was an amazing experience. Plenty of room to spread out or party of 6 people. We had 8 friends that stayed south of us 2 houses away, so when we did meals together, we had plenty of room to cook and eat. The pool was refreshing and had chairs and an umbrella to have some shade. There were plenty of towels for showers and for the beach. There were soaps, trial size shampoo and conditioner in each bathroom. There was a basket of various sunscreen bottles at the wet bar area. We really didn’t need to bring anything except clothes. There was even laundry detergent and dishwasher and dish soap. The house had a cistern and filtered water to drink. They also had city water for the toilets and pool fill up when the pool company maintained the pool. Carol and Daniel the house caretakers were amazing and helpful. He had a lack of water one day and Daniel came to fix the situation. The cistern had gone low and he regenerated the system. The power went out a couple f times and there was a generator that automatically kicked on. This is an island so these things happen sometimes. The internet also went in and out. But between Carol and Daniel, they got a new WiFi box and the situation was taken care of so that our son could work on his college online course. The beach access was directly across the street. Or we could walk 2 houses down to the public access road. Beautiful and easy to get to. The road traffic was light so walking to our friends rental property, we did not worry about the kids (aged 12-21) walking back and forth. Not a lot of noise, so we were able to hear cars before we could see them. Very safe location. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Using the “What’s App” was a great way to get in touch with Carol and Daniel. There were paddle boards that were available and we all enjoyed trying them. There was a big cooler and also a small soft cooler. Those were helpful when "

"Excellent house on the calmest beach
We had a great week @ Salty Dolphin. The beach is right across the street (barely any cars) and the calmest area around. If you go even 10 houses down more towards Tippys, it gets a bit rougher and we loved how calm it was for our kids at “our” beach. The pool is great and deck space is amazing. Loved reading and taking a nap on the deck. The house was immaculate when we arrived and the furnishings, linens, etc are in perfect condition. Carol, Sabrina and Dan were very helpful and friendly during our stay. Stay here and you won’t be disappointed! "

"Great vacation
Our stay in Eleuthera was wonderful, and our group of 3 couples were pleased with our choice of the Salty Dolphin. The villa had a very nice lower level layout that was large and open which made gathering around for meals and conversations really nice. The villa was well equipped with nearly anything you might need - extra beach coolers, multiple beach umbrellas (needed!), good quality beach chairs, full A/C, lots of extra towels/linens, and more.
What could use some attention? (1) The water pressure was extremely weak at all times and you could never get it warm - only hot or cold. (2) We lost power for almost a full day, and then the generator did not work. It was fixed about the same time the power came back on, but, again, it would have been nice not to lose about 20+ hours of power (and water). Stuff happens, right? (3) The deck areas could use some shade as they were extremely hot when the sun was up. (4) Internet service was very spotty and weak most of the time. I did a speed test one time and got 2Mbps down / .5 up. This wasn’t always the case, but it was also very frequent. And, if staying in one of the bedrooms upstairs, the speed was even worse (did not see a repeater of any kind that might have helped).
Would we stay there again? Absolutely - no question. The house is clean and well equipped, nice staff (Carol, Daniel) who were professional, warm, and friendly, great location to a great beach just 50 yds across the street, in a safe area, and convenient to Governor’s Harbour for groceries/restaurants. "Salty Dolphin
We absolutely loved our stay at Salty Dolphin! The house is very spacious and the layout provides a lot of privacy. The house is extremely well-appointed with everything one needs for beaching, relaxing, and cooking. We made a number of meals and had everything we needed. The pool was a wonderful option, and the many decks made for great stargazing! Carol the caretaker was very responsive. Finally, the location across from French Leave beach and in the heart of GHB was totally perfect. We loved the house and would happily return!"

"Amazing second stay
This was our second stay at Salty Dolphin (the first time under previous owners) and we absolutely loved it! The house is only a few steps from the most beautiful beach on the island. The house is beautiful inside and out. Love the remodel. Carol the housekeeper is so friendly and helpful. The home has all the amenities we needed, kitchen well stocked, plenty of seating, beds, bathrooms and kept very clean. We'll be back!"

"Second Stay at The Salty Dolphin (Richview)!
Fantastic property - directly across the street from French Leave Beach. The house comes equipped with everything you need; beach chairs/umbrellas, beach towels, two paddle boards, etc. The two kitchens (up and down) are fully equipped right down to the coffee grinder. The house is clean, well maintained and has recently been renovated. The house is exactly as pictured. Anne and Daniel will take great care of you while on Eleuthera and Simon provides impeccable booking services. Also make sure to visit Anne's farm on the highway just north of Palmetto. Daniel can help you with fresh fish and lobster. A perfect stay and we will be back!"

"AWESOME HOUSE AND BEACH
We loved it. waking up and walking to the beach was just so relaxing and fun. Saw tons of life in the ocean. House worked great. We were a group of 8."

"Magical week!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Richview, now called Salty Dolphin. It’s in an ideal location and the pool, many deck areas and fully equipped kitchen were a great addition. The only thing I would suggest is to add something to the upstairs bedrooms to store clothes. There was nothing other than the closets so we had to use our suitcases. Even a small dresser with a few drawers would help. Anne Bethel and Daniel were awesome and great additions to our week."

"convenient location, clean, updated
great location. great property manager. have to cross banks road to get to beach but it is an easy and quick walk. easy drive to town. easy access to get to north or south part of island. overall very satisfied!"

"Beach Paradise
The house is very well appointed, steps from an incredible beach. The caretaker is the nicest person ever and our vacation was fantastic....
Covid and the bahamian "lockdown" helpd the place to be next to deserted which added to the total relaxation package. This is not my first time...ther e will be others"
Nov 24, 2020 - Matteo F., Charlotte, NC

"Great Rental Right Next to French Leave Beach
Great property located right next to French Leave Beach that easily accommodated our group of 10. Property was clean and the layout of the house allowed for some privacy during the week-long stay. Pool was fantastic and all of the porch space allowed for great views of the beach and meals outside. Beach and property are more impressive and beautiful in real life! Proximity to Governor's Harbour, beaches, Tippy's and other restaurants/supermarkets made it an ideal location.

Only downside was that the honeymoon suite's AC unit didn't work for the first 4 days so that area was warm. Anne (caretaker) and her group gave us a fan for 2 days and sourced the difficult to find part to fix the AC for the remainder of the stay. Other than the AC issue Richview was the perfect vacation residence.

Giving a 4+ star rating instead of a 5 due to the AC issue, but this property is fantastic! I look forward to my next vacation at Richview!"

"Fabulous house
This property was great for 6 people, plenty of space ,huge outdoor decks, beautiful sunsets on the rooftop decks, comfortable beds, huge showers. Perfect central location .Matt Simon once again found us the perfect place on this beautiful island."
Jul 10, 2019 - Keith and Chris P., Blue bell, Pa.

"Needs some TLC
Location was great. Beautiful views. AC in one bedroom did not work so had to sleep on couch, grill was disgusting and did not work, pool was not working...pumps would cause breaker to trip. There answer was to throw chlorine tablets into pool. We had them fill the pool so the skimmer would work but we still had to flip breaker constantly. Boards on porch were rotted. This seems like somebody is trying to sell it but not maintaining the house."
May 11, 2019 - , Minot, ME

"Richview Is Great
Richview itself was wonderful. The home was fully stocked (better than any other home we've stayed in). Having 2 kitchens was really nice for our sized group and the property manager was very accomodating. Grounds & Pool were all well maintained. Eleuthera itself has so much potential but a ways to go in being eco-friendly. The island displays lots of trash on the sides of roads and sadly the beaches too. This did take away from our vacation & I wouldn't feel right not giving an accurate assessment of the area. If the locals & outside investors take the time to figure out how to keep the island, beaches & ocean clean it would be pure Heaven. "
Feb 05, 2019 - Kara B., Grand Rapids, MI

"The Perfect Get a way to "get a way"
The home was exactly as described and the beach was a 1 minute walk away. Having your own pool is priceless! The upstairs guest suite is perfect for privacy. Anne the caretaker is phenomenal. She made our trip perfect (and her fresh bread is amazing!)"

"Richview
Excellent "
May 18, 2018 - , Webster, ny

"Good Not Great
Richview is a wonderfully conceived off-beach property. The design is light, spacious and airy. If properly maintained, it could be a superstar. Regrettably, at the moment -- perhaps because it is for sale -- the property suffers a bit from a lack of attention and care.

The good: spacious, conveniently located, mostly comfortable, decent cooking facilities, mostly well-stocked

Room for improvement: beds are horribly uncomfortable, screen doors fall of tracks when moved (every time), many windows have no screens, pool was dirty/cloudy, some advertised amenities didn't exist (ample snorkels and fins -- I think there was 1 set), and various minor maintenance issues (light bulbs, worn paint, etc.).

For a property that charges premium rates, expectations are commensurate. This is where Richview fell short, in our opinion. For less money, this would be palatable. For a higher end priced property, it may be unjustified.

Eleuthera, still, is a beautiful location and Richview sits across the street from an amazing beach."
Apr 19, 2018 - Steve P.

"Richview, Eleuthera
Our party of 8 (6 adults, 2 children) had an outstanding stay at Richview. The house is on a "main" road less then a mile for Governor's Harbour and steps from a beautiful beach. House was very clean and inviting with a small pool for relaxing around. Island people were very friendly and helpful answering our questions. But beware food, restaurants, gas, etc are all very expensive so plan accordingly."
Mar 20, 2018 - David B.

"Wonderful Spot!
Just returned from a month at Richview. It's ideally located close to Gov Harbour and on the island's best beach. We explored Eleuthera top to bottom and can honestly say that we wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. French Leave beach is stunning! Matt went above and beyond providing tips and info on things to see and do. The house is very well appointed and comfortable. Bachus fine foods and Tippy's are both walking distance. Fantastic spot on a fantastic island! "
