"Great condo- #205
Great condo. Very clean and only steps away from the beach. Loved having extra towel hooks in the bathrooms and hallway! Balcony has plenty of furniture with lots of room to sit and relax. The pool is located on the back of the property with no view of the beach, but we like to hang out at the beach more anyway. Overall a great stay and enjoyed our time here! Brooks and Shorey did an excellent job of making sure we had the check-in info and any information needed for our stay. Great property management company. "

FIVE STAR RENTAL. Absolutely no issues. Good communication with the host, very friendly staff at the location. Stunning views of the gulf from the oversized balcony, with access to the master. Very clean. Plenty of room for a family. 10 min drive to all that Destin has to offer. Just a few steps to the elevator/stair tower, with direct access to the beautiful beach. You won't be disappointed. We will stay again."

Surf Dweller Unit 205 is beautiful. You could not ask for a better view or a better kitchen. The room was very clean and bright. The kitchen was beautiful and well stocked. I only have two minor complaints - The beds are uncomfortable because they are too soft and the living couch and recliner are not comfortable. With that being said, we loved this unit and tried to book for April and next October, but the unit appears to be unavailable anytime in the future months. Brooks and Shorey are great to work with on booking and make everything easy."

"Wonderful vacation getaway!
We had a wonderful week at this beach condo! The location is good, not too crowded at the beach. Every condo has a beach balcony facing the ocean(our favorite).Condo had everything we needed, was clean and well maintained. My only complaint was that the condo was supposed to be smoke free and I guess the person before us smoked in there. There was a faint smell of smoke and the trash bags in the trash cans smelled strong of smoke."

"Room with a view!
wanted to take my mom on her dream vacay to the beach in Florida. The view, access to water, and balcony were my most important must haves and that is why I chose this condo.
The did have/ did not have:
Did have generous space. We felt very comfortable and there was plenty of parking. Did have keyless entry-big bonus for beach goers! No need to keep up with keys. Did have full size washer and dryer-the dryer did take a really long time to dry a small load towels (like hours). Did NOT have beach towels, bring or buy your own. Did have ice maker, careful though as the door panel sometimes fell off when using. This snaps right back on but is startling when it first happens. Does have tons of dishes, cups, kitchen equipment-just supply food. Does have keurig duo which is nice-the carafe side does make a bit of a mess when pouring so careful there. Did have starter shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry powder, dishwasher powder. Did NOT have dish soap, hand soap, any type of cleaner wipes/spray. Did have ceiling fans! Did have great AC. Did have screen doors-these look like they are coming undone so I did not use them.
Primary bedroom has super-soft mattress...you will love or hate. Looks like box spring, mattress, then thick foam mattress. I did not sleep well on this but I like a very firm mattress. The view from here is great though! The secondary bedroom was not used-it was very dark and uncomfortable feeling. It also had not been cleaned properly.
Maintenance responded within 10 minutes. Housekeeping responded within a little more than an hour.
Beach service: I saw chair/umbrella setup as early as 7:30am. Go down early if you want a spot! Several front/center chairs were “reserved” all day even though no one sat in them til after 2pm. I asked one family how they reserved them and was told they paid the attendant $100 per chair, some paid more some paid less but that seems to be the practice for guaran"

One word of advice...bring your own blanket if anyone is using the sofa bed, there were sheets but no blankets. Other than that, the condo had everything else we needed! "

"The BEST location on the beach!!
This is our favorite rental. You can’t get any closer to the beach. The balcony is the biggest in the area. Close to the elevators but not noisy. The kitchen has been remodeled and is open to the living area. There is a nice flow from the kitchen to the dining room. It is fully stocked with everything you need. Every year when we come back there are new updates. You can tell the owners really care about this rental. We will definitely stay again!"

"Beautiful condo in perfect location
We absolutely loved our Surf Dweller rental and our experience with Brooks and Shorey. From the moment we booked the reservation, B&S sent us everything we could possibly need to get our trip off to a great start. The app with all of the information was invaluable. When our flight landed, we already had the entry code to the condo! Once we arrived, the condo was in perfect condition--beautifully decorated with all the amenities of home. The kitchen had EVERYTHING. Gorgeous views of the ocean from both the living room and the master, and the patio is spacious with comfortable furnishings. The beach was honestly immediately outside our window, with nothing between (the pool is in front, so it didn't block the view or the sound of the waves). Outdoor showers were lovely and the water was not too cold. Easy access to grocery stores and tons of restaurants, and much less traffic than on the eastern communities. We would book this condo again in an instant!"

"Very clean, updated and spacious!
This was our first trip to Fort Walton Beach (flying from Maryland). We have three kids and we were looking for a second bedroom that had at least 2 full-size or queen size beds. Compared to the 2-bedroom condos I looked around the Okaloosa Island, I was drawn to Surf Dweller, particularly to unit 205 because of the updated kitchen, furniture, bathroom and flooring. I am glad they upgraded the floors to tiles so it was easier to deal with the sand when we come back from the beach. Even if there is a rinse-off section outside the building, it is still inevitable not to bring in sand. The bathrooms are all clean, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything we needed when cooking our meals, and there are plenty of seating available both in the family room and the balcony. There is also plenty of seating in the dining room and the kitchen counters. The beds were very comfortable (we've all slept in on most days, which means, the beds were very comfy). My family made a lot of great memories in this unit and out in the beach. All of the activities and stores were just within 20 minutes away or less. We like how the main road on Okaloosa is not very busy compared to route 98's traffic."

This is a 2 Bedroom Unit in an older building. The unit was very spacious for a 2 Bedroom. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The entire unit was remodeled and updated. The furniture was very nice. The beds were very comfortable. The property manager was very prompt in addressing a minor issue. This would be a great unit for 2 Couples. It would also be good for a family. The swimming pool is behind the condo with no view of the ocean. That was not a problem for us. Balcony was big. Kitchen had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again."

The condo room was nice the location to the beach was great, the complementary beach chairs were great.The pool was a big disappointment it was in the parking lot, very noisy. No one cleaned it, even after I asked 2 maintenance men to, and turn the heat on. It had scum around the edge and a lot of sand and bugs in it, and it was cold even though its says heated. The condo room (yes) could use some new furniture and matrices but condo (no) even the elevator broke twice the fire station came to get people out of it. "

"I've always rented through you and this was dissatisfying
Condo was dirty, pots and pans and cups in cabinets dirty. All the drains in the main bathroom backed up. Shower rod falling apart. Power was out for two hours. Master bedroom bed linens were dirty upon arrival so I went and bought my own set. Very uncomfortable bed also. 2nd bedroom had storage in 1/2 of the closet so we couldn't use that. There were many things being stored in the condo under the beds. Pillows were old and clumpy like they had been washed over and over again. Again I had to go out and buy new pillows. I have never been this disappointed 😔 someone needs to go look at this condo. We shouldn't have to call maintenance on our vacation. I'm not sure we will be booking through your company next year ☹️ "

"Spacious & comfortable beach condo
We had a great week in Surf Dweller 205! This was our second year booking with Brooks & Shorey and we are yet again very happy. The condo had very comfortable beds, tons of space, great large TV's, a well-stocked kitchen, large sound-proof sliding glass doors in living area & master bedroom, and the list goes on & on. The pool was really nice when we just needed a break from the sand & seaweed. Beach service was so nice, we even rented a kayak for a brief adventure! We used the dolphin tour on the Seablaster again, and this will likely be part of our trip each year. Loved this vacation!"

"Beautiful Beach Getaway
This condo unit was perfect. Interior was wonderful, very spacious and clean. The ocean front balcony was spectacular. The only minor issue we had during our stay was with other guests at the condo. Having lived in the area for four years during military duty, we fell in love with the beaches and return every year for our family vacation. Obviously, the number of visitors is rising as people start to discover this wonderful spot, especially in the last few years. We love that the island is getting the attention it deserves, however the quaint, serene, laid back atmosphere is getting lost in the shuffle. Not because its too crowded, thats the beauty of the smaller buildings, but because people are so rude and ignorant. Unfortunately, there needs to be a beach etiquette "handbook" added to the check in procedure. its really becoming a problem here and the trend is getting worse every year. Here are a few tips....1. Do not sit directly in front of somebody....especially the beach chair set ups that have been PAID for. there is still plenty of room for everone so there is no need to be a jerk. If you want to walk straight down from the walkway and plop directly at waters edge....PAY THE CHAIR GUY like everyone else. Otherwise put yourself in the open spots that they leave specifically for those who choose to save a little money and bring their own chairs. Those who do pay the extra didnt pay for the luxury of looking at the back of your head.....its just rude! 2. Pick up your trash....really?? 3. If you wanna dig in the sand great, have fun, but fill in that hole before you leave. Dont want to spend your vacation at the doctor for a broken ankle?? Neither do I! This is all simple common courtesy but it is really starting to get out of hand because people are rude. Everyone is there to enjoy this beautiful place on their vacation not just you so lets be aware and keep this beach as wonderful as it is."

We have stayed with brooksandshorey many times,but this time our stay was not as pleasant as usual. The unit was not up to brooksandshorey's usual standards. The cabinets were dirty,many of the pans and utinsels were sticky from previous use. They had not been washed just wiped out. They still had food residue on them.the stove had only three working burners and they did not sit down in the holes properly which caused everything to be lopsided, burning some food, while undercooking the rest. Light over sink kept going off and on. Mirror in 2nd bathroom, was melted where the light was up against it. Very dangerous.rug in living room had large strands pulled out, where Vacumn had appearantly caught it. No working light out on balcony. The location of the unit was great and otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed ourselfs."

"Fantastic Vacation in Surf Dweller 205
We couldn't have been happier with Surf Dweller 205. The condo was nicely updated, spacious and very clean. It was exactly what we were expecting based on the description & photos online. The location was great, being that is was close to the stair well on the 2nd floor. The beach wasn't too crowded so it was very relaxing & quiet. Check-in was very easy & everyone that we spoke to at the office was very friendly & helpful. We will definitely stay again!"

We had a great vacation while staying at the wonderful condo. There were no disappointments about the condo! It was very clean and updated. The kitchen was awesome to cook a few meals. The balcony was awesome in the morning and evening. It was close to the beach and had a great view. The location was perfect, not too touristy or crowded! The staff was friendly and accommodating! Our condo 205 was very clean and we we're very happy with the condo. The only things I would suggest as a home owner is the faucet in the guest bathroom comes off with no effort and the guest bedroom bedding could be updated. Those are minor things. We will be back for sure. The Belgian waffle maker was fantastic!! The movie card was very nice to have. We have stayed on Okaloosa Island many times and out of all the condos we prefer Surf Dweller. You won't be disappointed."

We really enjoyed the Surf Dweller Condo #205. We had a family trip to the beach and our condo seemed to be the gathering place! The big square table was nice, the large kitchen was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole unit. It was also great to have the umbrella/chair setup on the beach included with the condo."

"Loved our stay!
We loved our stay at the condo and it was in a great location for families! We had some difficulties finding the main office when we got to town and they were closed at five and we couldn't reach anyone. We got our information letter from the lock box at the office but it didn't tell us where to look for the code to get in our condo but we found another guest that was outside and they told us. Other than that we had a great stay and will stay there again!"
