we had a great experience staying in this condo. The only real issue we had was the sliding door was hard to open and shut and a bolt was rusted and broke off on one of the balcony chairs. Other than that everything was perfect. "

I was a little skeptical about renting this condo as there were not any reviews listed, but to my pleasant surprise it was a great condo with amazing views. A large balcony overlooking the pool. There were a couple of small issues that I reported and they were taken care of that day. Great response time. I highly recommend this property and will stay here again!"

Perfect place to stay if you don't like a busy road next to your condo. We rented 4 condos and all were excellent, clean, nice kitchens, etc. No complaints except for the seaweed but no one can control that. Will be going back for 3rd year in a row."

I always love staying at your condos. My only complaint is that I specifically booked a master bedroom with access to the balcony which I did not get. When asked to be moved you wanted another $600+. I was GREATLY disappointed and obviously didn't move. Also, basics, such as coffee filters, dish soap, laundry soap, should be provided. "

"Relaxation!
We had a great time at Islander 4008! Beds were comfortable, bedrooms were quiet. Kitchen had everything we needed. There was an Alexa device in the kitchen which was very handy for listening to our favorite music. The only downside was our internet connection would cut out on our personal devices...I was trying to FaceTime with my granddaughter. Check-in/check-out was so convenient. Would definitely stay there again!"

The floor of the master bath tub/shower needs a deep scrub, the wall behind the toilet was missed when bathroom was painted and the area rug needs to be steam cleaned under the dining table and the one in the hallway needs replaced or cleaned. "Annual Florida Family Vacation
Loved the room with the space and location. The room was very clean and we were able to get in our room early thanks to the fantastic management! The kitchen had the most dishes and large pots and pans than any place we have ever stayed! The appliances were top knotch! Only missed a meat turner for grill and only had 4 steak knives. The kitchen table had seen better days and the wicker chairs in the family room were not comfortable. We always had hot water for showers. The beds were very comfortable. We played putt putt at Wild Willy's Adventure Zone and loved the take out at Stewby's Seafood Shanty!! "

"Excellent condo with nice amenities and easy access to the beach.
Clean and beautiful condo! We could come and go to the beach easily because of contactless entry and check in/out services. It was the perfect size for 4 people. There are no more than 7 floors and it was so peaceful since it wasn’t a high rise. It was quick to get to restaurants and other places because of location. We had the best time!"

"2nd stay
This is a great unit and my family's 2nd year staying in it. 3rd year in this building. It was very clean when we arrived. The kitchen is stocked well with pots, pans, dishes and anything else you need.The only negative would be that they were painting the building while we were there. Lots of noise at some points but it did not ruin our stay and is not anyone's fault. I am sure they will be done soon. We look forward to going again next year. "

One of the dirtiest condos I’ve ever stayed in. With Covid restrictions I would of thought things would be even cleaner than usual. Dishes in cabinets were dirty. Bathroom had hair on floor and mold on bathtub. All rugs and seat cushions were filthy. Would not stay here again for sure. "

We really enjoyed our week at Islander 4008. We had plenty of room for three adults and two toddlers. Condo was clean and had what we needed. Location was good.
I think my only real complaint would be that the pool is open until 10pm, but it is so dark down there. There needs to be better lighting!"

The condo was very nice which had everything we needed for a 4-day stay. We especially liked that both bedrooms have king size beds. The location and view of the beach was perfect. We wanted to stay near the airport which was a short 20-30 minute drive. It was also a short drive to Destin where we spent most of the time that we were not on the beach. "Beach Condo
This condo was in a perfect location on Okaloosa Island. The beach was absolutely beautiful and was just steps away. The pool was heated and was never too crowded. The condo was roomy and we loved the huge balcony with lots of seating. The paint on the cabinets in the kitchen and master bath were peeling off and the dishwasher would tip over as it was not secured under the cabinet. It was advertised that the sleeper sofa was brand new, but this was not the case. The mattress was very thin and slanted down. Quite uncomfortable! Overall, we enjoyed our stay here due to the great location right on the ocean. We would come back!"

Brooks & Shorey called to let us know our condo rental was ready 4 hours early. That's a first for us on rentals. Usually you can't get in until the very last minute! The only thing the condo needs is some cabinet work in the kitchen and more comfortable living room furninture. Other than that, everything was great. "

"Fun in the sun
Overall a very good experience. Beautiful view of the gulf.Property was clean and in well maintained although they could refinish some of the cabinet doors where paint is peeling off. We spend some time at the Harborwalk in Destin which is only about 15min.away. Very cool place plenty of restaurants. We ate at Margritaville and hung out at AJ,'s. We use to come to Ft.Walton when I was a kid and there were no condo's them just a sleeping fishing village. We had a short stay but I would certainly go back."

"Spring Break during a cold snap ??
This is my 2nd time to rent from Brooks & Shorey. They are fantastic to deal with, very responsive and helpful. I will continue to use them for all my future rentals. The 4008 Islander condo was very clean and nice. The only issues we had were there weren't any extra blankets in the condo. Also past condos have provided hair dryers, air freshener and a small laundry detergent. This one did not. Other than these small inconveniences, the condo provided us with a great place to stay in a good location. I prefer Okaloosa since it's less crowded then Destin and easy to maneauver.

Everyone had a great stay and due to the number of condos being rented we even received a discount! Being able to head home with all of our laundry clean was a great perk to the vacation! "

"Fall Break
It was great, clean, pleasant, and well-equipped. Our only concern was that, being directly over the pool, would the noise level be too much for relaxation during the summer/hot months. It was fine while we were there but only a few used the pool and having it locked up at night certainly was a huge relief. We have stayed at other condos at the Islander, before you locked the pool up at 10:00 and found it to be an interference. We have stayed in many condos at Ft. Walton and in Gulf Shores and this was, by far, the cleanest. Thank You! Also sincerely appreciate the fast, courteous, help with clean sheets for the sleep sofa when we could not find them. We have kept this information and plan to request this unit through Brooks and Shorey whenever we come again. "

Islander 4008 was a perfect place for our Fall Break getaway! The condo is clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the view is stunning!! There were plenty of extra linens, soaps, and kitchen supplies. The front desk staff were very friendly. Brooks and Shorey was a joy to book with! They did an outstanding job of taking care of us and even gave us a small goodie bag on arrival. I took my 10 yr old daughter to the Gulfarium and she loved it!! Checkout was easy and our entire stay was great. Ft. Walton is beautiful and I will definitely book with Brooks and Shorey again! Great condo, great beach, great staff, great vacation!"

This unit was clean, with ample room for up to 4 adults. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. The only thing I would mention is to bring your own hair dryer and shampoo and conditioner. The patio was large with plenty of places to stretch out and enjoy the view of the beach. I am planning to come back and stay here again we loved it so much. Location to local dining, activities and groceries was a plus. I can not wait to come back."

Location was everything for this one; 4th floor overlooking the pool and beach, huge balcony. Boardwalk very conveniently located and walk to the water is very short. Easily accessible from main highway and much less crowded then nearby Destin. Interior was clean, and decor was very nice. Normal wear and tear on a rental property. Two king sized beds was nice and both were comfortable. Ample space for 4-6 people. A few maintenance issues upon arrival that were quickly fixed. The free movies that are advertised were not on property; the card provided did not work in the resort machine and we never did find what machine we were supposed to use. Staff at the rental company was polite but not especially welcoming or helpful. Inconvenient to have to return to the rental office the next day if you arrive after hours or be charged $55. Condo was expensive for what it was on the interior, but the location helped make up for it. Would definitely return to this beach and this resort, but might not book through Brooks and Shorey."

Overall we enjoyed our stay; however, unit did not appear to be updated as advertised. It was clean and just painted but kitchen cabinets paint was peeling badly and window treatments were dingy looking. Also, we found the sliding glass door bottom frame to be a safety hazard as it was raised 3 or 4 inches from floor and easy to stumble over. We had to keep a chair in front of it to remind us to step over it as not to fall. Also we found it very noisy during the day as units around us were being renovated; a lot of jackhammer type noise. On the plus side the ocean view and the beach was great."

The condo was nice , we were very disappointed that there was not a working pool, I recently had knee surgury and it was the only thing I truly was looking forward to, they gave us a movie card that didn't work so no movies. We didn't have a remote to our tv, and couldn't get any help on Sunday, and the morning we left there was a very large cockroach, on our kitchen counter, thank god we saw it the last day or I would not have stayed. "

"Disappointed stay
We can not express how our hearts fell when we walked in and seen the condition of this outdated condo. Which made our overall stay very disappointed. The vacation rental is in a great location and we are sure other condos were in better shape. Personally, We think this condo should not be rented out until some work is done in it. Where do we begin-- The pictures on-line did not match the actually condo. The Master bedroom-the furniture was so out of place with it being pushed to one side of the room, the headboard was broken, every time you would turn in bed it would bang against the wall and the bed was so uncomfortable. The fan made a noise and there was no place to put your luggage. The guest bathtub was stopped up and drained very slowly. There was no TV in the guest room. Which is where teenagers stayed. There were no curtains in the bedroom. The furniture in the living area was very soiled and outdated. The lamp had been broken and was glued together along with figurines that were broken missing feet, etc. The bar stools were ripping apart. The blind for the patio door was broken with part lying on the floor. The refrigerator had an odor. Not enough spare blankets for the sofa sleeper. We were just very disappointed for the amount of money that is paid to rent a condo, we were just expecting it to be nice and clean. We gave a list of all the things we found unsatisfied with the condo. Brooks, Shorey said they didn't visit the condo's and didn't know what shape they are in. They leave it up to housekeeping. We would not recommend this property or the , Inc. to anyone. This could be a nice condo if it was updated with EVERYTHING!!! I'm disappointed that Brooks, Shorey would rent out this condo in the condition its in. "

Our stay was nice and the Islander 4008 was a great condo. The only thing that was upsetting was Friday I asked that someone come see about the dishwasher and the ceiling fan in the master room. The fan was making a horrible noise and made it difficult to sleep and at first we could not put dishes washing because the dishwasher would not reset. We eventually got the dishwasher to work by turning off the breaker so it would reset. As far as the fan, if you turned it down it was not as loud; however it would get hot. If they want you to leave the air conditioner set at 75 then all the ceiling fans should work properly.
When we left on Monday no one had come to see about either. "

"Loved the Amenities
Everything was great! We especially enjoyed the free amenities. The beach chairs with umbrellas were great to have without the hourly fee we have had at other places in the past. The dolfin cruise was great and my son and son-in-law enjoyed the free golf.
The beach is RIGHT THERE! Pool was nice too. We will definitely use Brooks and Shorey again."

Patio furniture was very rusted. Floors were dirty - baby crawling had black knees and feet. Wooden den rug was old and dirty. Elevator is unvented, slow and antiquated. Rents were very high considering condition of condo."

"The condon was really nice. The only complant I have is the master bedroon bed is very worn. After the second night I had severe bad pain. I got a message witch help. We use the guest bed room the last night. I suggest you get a new mattress.

"Wonderful Stay as Always
Had a wonderful time with no complaints. Unfortunately, a co-worker cannot say the same. Her air conditioning and fridgerator did not work IN JUNE WHEN IT GETS REALLY HOT! They fixed it the next day but did not give her any discount at all for her and her family's discomfort."

Perfect location right on the beach-just walk through the pool area into the powdery white sand! The place included everything we needed, including beach umbrella and chairs set up by the property management each day. We were there in early May when the crowds were light - ideal for a quiet, relaxing getaway. Highly recommend. "
