"Pelican Bay Stay
Pelican Bay is a nice clean facility. We chose it partly because it is a non-smoking facility. I have severe asthma. The non-smoking rules are not enforced. I wasn’t able to enjoy the balcony due to the smokers & vapors below our unit. The maintenance workers were very professional and friendly."

"Wonderful Condo, just rude people

The location was amazing, the view will be in my memories forever. We love Okaloosa Island. This condo did not disappoint. Usually there are four of us that vacation together, which this condo would of fit comfortably but this time it was just my husband and I as we celebrated 25 years of marriage and we couldnt of picked a better condo!!!"

"PI 510
renting the property through Brooks & Shorey was very easy. We appreciate the repeat business discount that was automatically extended to us. We were disappointed that the parking garage was closed for repairs and that we had to park outside, since a parking space is included in the rent. There was no offer of a discount for not having the garage unavailable. We appreciate the beach setup being included with the condo rent and used that every day. "

"Absolutely Perfect!
We just spent a week at Pelican Isle 510 & it was so perfect I've already inquired about booking it for the same time next year! I've rented alot of vacation condos over the years on different beaches and this was by far the best ever. It was a girls trip, me and my bestie and on the way home we tried to think of one thing that we could suggest for improvement and we came up with nothing. Perfect location for everything. Perfect layout in condo for privacy. Everything worked. 2 chairs and umbrella provided was a huge plus. Managing staff were very easy to work with and communicative. Would highly recommend. "

"Pelican Isle 510
I had never been to the Fort Walton/Okaloosa Island area. When I opened the door to the room I was thrilled already. Decor was never and room was clean. Kitchen had everything need to function for our stay. The main and guest beds were very comfortable. The bunk beds though we did not use for very quaint and fun! The water was gorgeous and the complimentary chairs we had were amazing. Will definitely go back and stay in the same room! Only downfall was the sleeper couch in the living room was very worn and not comfortable. The step in and out to the balcony tripped me many times as well."

We enjoyed our vacation and the time away. The beach was beautiful. The pool was quite cold, but we still enjoyed it. The view was beautiful. We didn’t realize when we booked that stores/restaurants were as far away as they were, which was disappointing. There was only one elevator working during our stay. We let the property management company know ahead of time that we would be in early and were disappointed that they didn’t make an early check in available. We were notified at the same time as everyone else, at approximately 4:10 PM"

The unit was clean and beautiful and the view was amazing. A couple things to consider....we were given one wash cloth for two bathrooms. That was not ideal. The toilet in the hall bathroom was difficult to flush. Sometimes it flushed, sometimes it took several attempts. The light switch in the master bath is finicky. If you don't tap it lightly to the left the lights won't stay on. Although my cousin and I got a good laugh out of the lights going out while I was showering and me screaming like a 7 year old kid, others may not find that as humorous and it may be difficult for some to navigate themselves out of that tub in the dark. It is a beautiful, very clean unit with a great view. Thank you for sharing it with us. "

Beautiful condo. We enjoyed our week. The parking was good. Condo was clean. Beach was beautiful. The chair guy was awesome. The only thing that would have made the week better was new sofa and chairs. They are worn out and very uncomfortable. We would definitely stay again if the furniture was replaced. "

The room was immaculate as soon as you walk in. Brand new and updated. Great view of the beach. The sink clogged up on us a couple times but it wasn't a huge deal. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay, definitely would recommend to friends and family"

Loved the location of Pelican Isle. Condo was clean and had enough space for the 6 of us. We really liked that the area was not crowed. The pool was somewhat small but we really didn't use it much. The beach was beautiful and loved that it came with 2 chairs and an umbrella."

"My wife’s 50th birthday trip
The condo and the whole area was great. We had the best view and all the beaches were outstanding. Only thing that needs addressed is the couch and 2 chairs in living room of the condo. In pelican isle unit 510 other than that there is no complaints. The bath rooms were great. Beds were just like my home. All other furnishings were outstanding. I will be staying here again for sure "

"This unit is just okay
We loved staying in this area. It was quiet and not crowded at all. We will certainly come back to the area, but I can't say that I would stay in this unit again. It was just dirty. There were things left on the floor that shouldn't have been there if it were properly cleaned. I found a past renter's wax earplugs in the guest room, trash under the beds and end tables, built up dust on the wall hair dryer, unidentifiable stains on the wall in the living room, and lots of mold and gunk in the guest bath shower doors. I would expect with having to pay cleaning fees that the unit would have been cleaned much better. I will say that Brooks and Shorey was good to respond to the maintenance requests that we submitted, and the unit wasn't so bad that we asked them to reclean it. We discovered much of the grosser things as the week went on, and by that time we had tracked in our own sand and had our own messes, and it would not have been fair to ask for a cleaning at that point."

Thank you to the home owners for allowing us to stay in your beautiful condo. You have done an awesome job with the finishes and the decor. We had a gorgeous view from our balcony and we loved the comfortable patio furniture. Brooks and Shorey was easy to work with. The staff in th office were very friendly and helpful as well as the rest of the staff. The cleaning crew you use did and awesome job. I always bring cleaning supplies with me but I did not have to clean when I got there (which was nice). Kitchen was stocked well. The beds very comfortable. The complimentary umbrella and chairs were very nice to have. My family had a wonderful vacation!! Thanks again for sharing your home with us."

We found the unit to be very clean and well stocked for needs. Location and view was great! You need to venture out of the immediate area to see and do a variety of things. The living room furniture is not very comfortable. Nice heated pool, and hot tub were very nice. Nice to have the carts to help move in to units verses numerous trips up and down to parking. The neat thing we were able to have assigned parking. "

This was exactly what I needed! Beautifully decorated. Clean. Spacious. Comfortable beds. Great location. The only thing I would change, and this is so minor, is to have spare blankets in the closet. I wanted one more on my bed at night. I can’t wait until I can book this condo again. It was the perfect week of relaxation. Stop scrolling and stay here! "

First time at Pelican Isle. Stayed in #510 and could not have been happier. This kitchen was wonderfully equipped, the beds were great and lovely furnishings without being kitchey. This was our second trip to Pelican Isle and we really enjoyed it. The location is perfect, we had a wonderful stay and we can't wait to go back. It was nice having covered parking and I liked having codes for the doors rather than having to bring key cards. The condo was beautiful and had everything you could ask for."

"Perfect Family Paradise
This condo was wonderful...from the view of the beach to the cleanliness of the condo and whole property to the friendliness of staff to the beachy and fresh was WONDERFUL...every single aspect! I will most definitely rent from this company again in the future and if I’m lucky, I will most definitely rent this same condo again. It is very clean, new appliances, fresh beachy feel throughout the condo, amazing to have TVs in the bunk area,

This unit had breath taking views, and was very clean. We enjoyed the amenities which included washer and dryer and a private parking spot. The only con that I can think of was the carpet in the dining area. Not ideal with kids eating. The carpet was clean and in good shape, though. All in all, we had a great stay. "

"Lovely location
We loved the location of this property and while overall the condo was lovely, certain things kept us from giving 5 stars. The sheets were "hospital grade" and a simple update to even Target sheets would have made the world of difference. Also the bed pillows and sofa throw pillows needed cleaning and unfortunately carried an "unwashed" odor. Simple fixes which would make for a more pleasant stay. "

"Relaxing
We loved our rental! It was great having reserved garage parking, and the condo was fantastic. Everything was so pretty, relaxing, and clean. The master bed was very comfortable and breakfast on the balcony was wonderful. When we come back to Fort Walton, this is where we will absolutely stay again. I also loved that the beach was quiet, mostly just the guests from Pelican Isle."

"Long time renter coming to an end!
We have been coming to this particular condo now for years and we absolutely love it however this year it was a noticeable difference. The room was dirty! There were dirty dishes in the cabinet, food and trash in the floor and under the furniture. The comforter and shower curtain were stained and the mattress was changed to a extremely hard mattress. Not to mention the elevators were down most of the trip. Unfortunately I think we will be looking elsewhere for our next trip. "

This rental met all our needs. The furniture could have been a little more comfortable. The beds were pretty good. The only thing I didn't care for was that a family set a tent up at one of the ends of the swimming pool and the pool area felt to crowded after that. "

This was our first visit to Destin and had no idea where to stay so a friend gave us your name and address. Other than the extreme cost of your condo, our stay was phenomenal and the condo exceeded our expectations. It would be a wonderful idea if you all could lower your rates to make it more affordable for families to stay at your nice facility. Emerald Towers West was where we stayed 2 days due to lack of space at The Pelican, where we stayed 5 days,was much nicer and cleaner. The only negative comment I can make is that the ladies that were cleaning the room were very rude. we had forgotten something in the room and went back up to get it and she allowed us to get our items we had left behind, but we asked her about the location of a place we wanted to go and she basically said she didn't have time to help us, she said she didn't clean at Emeralds Tower often and couldn't help me & immediately walked away as if I wasn't even there. "

We loved the condo. There was a musty smell that wouldn't go away so if we rent it again we will definitely bring a candle. We loved the updated kitchen. the view was to die for. It was great to sit out on the balcony after a long day at the beach and site seeing. When you check in at the front desk the girls are so nice and helpful. They answered any questions I had and always had a smile on their face. "

"Beach Time
The Condo is perfect. It was a great home away from home for our week stay. The beach service, pool, and hot tub are great! Bonus beach toys and extra chairs in the closet were a great extra touch. Beds are so comfortable! Kitchen has all new appliance. Only thing is they supply nothing for the kitchen. No dish soap, scrub brushes, seasonings. We left some for the next guest:) Only down side was I wish I would have know about the June grass/seaweed. I would stay again during a different time of year"

"Great Place to Enjoy the Ocean
My wife and I have been coming to Pelican isle for four years and spend two weeks in the spring and two weeks in the fall each year. Being close to the ocean is wonderful. Barbara and Brooks & Shorey have always been responsive and do a first rate job. This unit is very nice (we have rented it on other occasions as well as staying in other units in Pelican Isle). We will be back in the fall."

"Paradise at Pelican Isle
Loved the unit. Very nice condo with high end finishes. Nice furniture in the unit and nice flat screen TV's throughout the condo. Unit was very clean. Good size balcony overlooking the gulf. Patio furniture was nice aluminum powder coat and not the cheap plastic chairs you see in so many places. I would highly recommend this unit. "

"Wonderful Vacation
We loved the condo, it was perfect. It was clean, spacious, nicely decorated and not cluttered. the kids (5 years old and 3 years old) loved the TVs in the bunk beds. the view was incredible and we would have coffee in the morning on the balcony and watch the dolphins in the distance. the beach is pristine. We will be back for sure!!!! It's close enough to enjoy all Destin has to offer without having to deal with the traffic and mass amounts of people everywhere."

"Recent Stay at Pelican Isle 510 Fort Walton Beach
We have always stayed at Gulf Dunes in the past, however, we have found a new PERFECT replacement!! The condo was beautiful. The details were accurate, if not under done. The décor very upscale, very clean, and well-maintained. Loved having the covered parking spot and the convenient free movie rentals on site as well. 2 Beach Chairs are included in the rental too. The master bedroom bed is simply DIVINE!!! (My and I Both agreed we hated to leave it as it was more comfortable than ours at home) Something that we have never said about a bed on vacation!! Both bedrooms have king size beds which is a nice addition. We will definitely be booking Pelican Isle 510 again."

Dirty dishes in dishewasher; dishes in cupboards with dried food, fingerprints and lip marks; master bath with hair in tub, on toilet and vanity sink; bath cupboards dirty. Second bedroom with hair on the sheets. Baseboards, flower arrangements, lamps, etc, with a major DUST problem. Fire the cleaning service!! Will not stay at a Brooks and Shorey rental again."

"A a Rocky Start
My vacation was great, with the exception of a few things. We were early arriving in Florida. When we were about 2 hours away, iI called to request they clean our room at the earliest time possible. This was not honored. We arrived at 12:00 and our room was not finished until 5:00 ( check in was at 4:00). This was an extremely long wait when you have been driving for 12 hours and you have three children with you. Other guests arriving said it was crazy that we were waiting when their rooms were ready and they hadn't called ahead. Also, dune grass made the beach disgusting."

"Nice vacation
We love Pelican Isle and have stayed here several times at different condos. It's always been a great experience. The only negative about unit 510 was that the master didn't have the ocean view as both bedrooms were on the walkway side. This meant it was louder at night as there is a condo with a basketball court right at the doorway it felt. It was a great place, however, and would stay again. Beach view is awesome and the living space adequate for the 5 of us.

This unit was very clean, well stocked with everything we needed (especially in the kitchen), perfect location on the beach and close driving distance to whatever we needed. Beautiful view from the balcony. We will definitely stay here again."

"Clean, comfortable stay!
The condo was very clean and comfortable...very homey and decorated beautifully. The beds were comfortable. The dishwasher didn't seem to clean the silverware and some of the dishes that well, but that wasn't a huge problem...everything else was great! I loved having the large size washer/dryer, as we did laundry a few times during the week - it was nice to be able to wash the towels. The property and grounds were nice as well. It was spring break and there were lots of teens. I noticed that a group came over to use the Pelican Isle hot tub - they climbed over the wall. Another family was very concerned and thought that should be enforced, as her family wasn't able to use the hot tub because of the group of teens. Other than that issue, we had a wonderful vacation and we'd recommend this property and condo to others!"

"Lovely November Escape
We loved the condo we rented from Brooks and Shorey. This is a reliable company, and the property at Pelican Isle was perfect for our needs. Coming here in the late fall is delightful. The beach is back to a more natural state (no lines of beach chairs) and the water is clear and gorgeous. Shells are found; sunsets are spectacular; life is unhurried. Thanks for the beach chairs available in the condo and the wireless internet. The pool was warm enough to use, and the hot tub was working and comfortable. All the comforts of home but in a beautiful beach place. Still warm enough to walk the beach."

"Busy crowded beach
Crowded.... I will not be back during in season... Front desk( Barbara ) was rude and offered us zero alternatives to the super crowded pelican isle pool and beach. If I ever come back ( this was our 5th year) I would chose off season, smaller condo building. "

"510 Pelican Isle
The condo we stayed in was very comfortable and we liked the floor plan. The master suite was large and quiet and we appreciated the two chairs and king sized bed. We have been coming to Okaloosa Island for over 20 years and this condo was the nicest we have stayed in."

"Pelican Isle Is Perfect
Unit 510 was spacious and clean. When we walked in, my daughter said "mommy what's that smell?" My answer was "that's what new carpet smells like". I was most impressed with the owners and their suggestion (in the guest book) to "pay ahead" to the next guests staying in their unit, meaning to leave a little something for the next guest staying that my be helpful to them. Some items that had been "paid ahead" were everything from dishwashing liquid to beach toys. What a great idea!! We love Pelican Isle and have stayed in unit 418 every other time. It's a tastefully decorated corner unit. Great family vacation memories made at Pelican Isle. "

"Awesome!
This place was perfect for us! The view, the pool, the hot tub, the reserved parking, the little grills to cook on, the brand new appliances(the wash machine sings to you when it's done) the space was just right for the four of us! We will be staying in 510 again for sure! The owners seem like great people, they encourage guests to leave little things for the next family to enjoy (beach/pool toys, games etc.) to pay it forward! Very nice cool and wonderful! It was my 16 month olds first time at the beach and she loved it. It was a perfect place for my husband to take a much needed break from military training we all thoroughly enjoyed it! "

"It was a dream
We had the most wonderful time. I studied every condo rental available online for days, and this was the nicest one. Ft Walton Beach has sentimental value for us, and we had planned to retire there someday. Then my husband died. Its five months later and I took my teenagers for quiet time to heal.
Every night I sat out on the balcony and reminisced our last visit to FWB. On the last morning, I wondered if my fantasy could come true. I called my sister's realtor friend, who dropped everything and showed me properties. I can't afford beach front, 510 will always be the best, but I am planning to buy a condo on the sound, and fix it up with the finest materials as the owners of 510 did. I will rent it out a couple of years, then move there myself at my kids' and sisters' urging.
Never would have dreamed it possible. This was the finest vacation we ever took, and we made memories to cover the hurts last week.
Thank you for providing friendly management beginning with Barbara at the front desk, to the best photography angles (but the place is even better than the pictures), to all the thoughtful amenities."

We would definitely stay in 510 again. They recently upgraded the appliances and decor. Everything was very nice and comfortable. The staff at Brooks and Shorey were very helpful, especially when helping us pick out a unit. The walk to the beach was very short and the view from the balcony was perfect. Thank you for making our stay very nice. "

"An HGTV Junkie's Delight!
The unit is just as it is pictured. No cliche beach decor. We enjoyed every inch of the unit! Because of it's recent makeover, everything is pristeen. Great washer and dryer! Great location--near the end of Okaloosa Island so the traffic is less and the beach is less crowded. Agent on site was so friendly and proud to welcome us to the island!We only regretted that we had to leave! "
