Overall, this is a nice, spacious just needs a bit of updating. Kitchen is well stocked, just needs more than one skillet. There are many extra beach accessories provided from this unit (beach loungers, floaties, etc) which was appreciated. "

Took my children and grandchildren. The grandchildren had a great time, especially my granddaughter. Of course the beach was superb.
The accommodations were very nice, beachside and everything was included. Only displeasing was the elevator. It was very warm inside. Check in was easy and every time I had a concern it was addressed in a timely manner. I was certainly recommend staying in this unit."

"Great condo with perfect views!
We loved our stay at 603! Very spacious 2 bedroom with excellent views! Our only problem was the WiFi went out on our second day and didn’t come back on until the night before we left. But even with that, the property management worked very hard to get it resolved and the communication with us was top notch! They answered all my emails in a very timely manner. We will definitely be back! "

"Great winter stay, but. . . .
Surf Dweller units are very large with great balconies and beautiful gulf views in a convenient location on Okaloosa Island. 603 has comfortable furniture and comfortable beds and the kitchen is well equipped, however the unit is in serious need of updating. We've rented from Brooks and Shorey for several years and have always been satisfied with the cleanliness of the properties. But something went wrong this time. We are accustomed to cleaning up after ourselves, but we did not expect to have to clean up after the previous guests upon our arrival!"

Our vacation rental was Surf Dweller unit 603. It was awesome and had an amazing view. There was plenty of room for our family of 7. The pool was great, the beach is so clean and gorgeous. I just wish the balcony had taller chairs and more places to sit and enjoy the view. "

"A few little things could have been better
Direct TV didn't work at all so we had no tv's for the week. Not the end of the world but it was Thanksgiving week and we had some games to watch. Someone came to look at it after my 2nd email and 3 days but it was never fixed. The washing machine sounded like a plane taking off so you couldn't run it when you were in the condo. There were no blankets for the sofa bed. I would have brought my own but that wasn't listed as an item to bring. The elevators malfunctioned so only 1 out of 3 was working.
The view was unbeatable and the condo was clean. Sometimes the little things go a long way to making the stay more enjoyable. "

Did not work, it seemed that was the case also in living room, but the power

Great layout, large, good location. The condo was a bit dated. The cables to the TV laying open and not safe for kids. A thick layer of dust on the TV. The dishes weren't all clean. Missing knifes and spoons. Wall paper chipped. The hot water takes forever to get warm in the showers. The washer is loud.
I recommend this condo and believe the issues identified need to be addressed a.s.a.p. "

The unit was very spacious and plenty of room for 4 adults. The view was what everybody wants with it being beach front. The vertical blinds in the bedroom were missing several of the blinds (they were under the bed), which made it impossible to get a dark room for sleeping. I did notify the host of the problem. Possibly there were not aware of it. The floors were not maintained as should have been. There was a dental floss stick under the coffee table (found by our 1 year old), and pieces of Cheerios beside/behind the sofa. Had a lovely laundry room which was nice! Plenty of storage in the bedrooms, baths, and closets. I would stay there again. I feel like the owner is not close by to check on things and isn't aware the blinds needed maintained and the cleaning company is not putting their best foot forward."

"Anniversary stay
Had a wonderful time. The condo was exactly the way it was shown and described. Has everything you need for a vacation stay. The beds were very comfortable except for the sheets not fitting properly. They needed deep pocket sheets so they stay on better. The window treatments need to have the missing slats replaced. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. Will definitely be staying here in the near future."

The balcony had cigarette butts in the left corner when we arrived. The living room had 7 remotes and the main remote was labeled bedroom. We had to call for maintenance to turn on the master TV. None of the channels would change not even for the maintenance guy. MTV for 3 nights"

This trip was kinda a last minute decision and alot of the condos we looked into were booked for the dates we wanted, found this one and it fit us pefect. It is however very outdated and the ac is terrible. I thought maybe the previous renters had just turned the ac off and it would have cooled off at least by the next day but that was not the case, it was very HOT and it looks like the ac has been a problem for years now. We stayed in Surf Dweller years ago a condo on the 7th floor and had the exact problem. We will always rent from Brooks and Shorey however never another condo in Surf Dweller. AC's are extremely important when you come in from being at the beach all day and when you can't even cover up with a sheet because the condo is that hot, something is wrong. Overall we enjoyed our stay outside of the condo."

"Nice getaway
I must say we really loved our stay. The view was breathtaking and the sound of the waves while on the balcony was so relaxing. I would highly recommend staying here. Everything was nice and clean. A little dated on the furniture, but who is here for that. I would however recommend better pillows or have more available, the ones we had were a little flat. If you have toddlers the balcony is great, it has a small wall with the rails on top

I would highly recommend this place! It was everything we expected from pics and more. Very spacious for our family of 7. Most importantly to me very clean & neat. No hidden surprises. We actually lost water on the entire island but it was taken care of very promptly and professionally that it didn't bother us at all. They were doing some maintenance work on 1 of the elevators so I was worried at first. Even that was not a problem. There were still 3 elevators to use and 1 was very close to our room. Weather was perfect and the water was so clear & beautiful. Lots of attractions and restaurants nearby and not too far from Destin which gives even more choices for activities to choose from. We had a great time and will definitely return and ask for this room again!"

The condo was clean and very large. I was very happy with everything until I walked into the master bedroom and saw the very old and very faded bedspread on the bed. That thing needs to be retired! I took that off and replaced it with a very nice white blanket and was much more satisfied after that. The condo is very nice. The living room furniture shows some age but it is OK. The TV's were nice. "

The management company is TOP RATE too, we had a problem with the WIFI and when they couldn't help us fix it over the phone, they had a man there within 10 minutes to remedy the situation.

"4th July Weekend
Fun!! We had such a great time here at Surf Dweller. Definitely on our list to return to this unit. We were located on 6th floor which we had a great view of the beach every morning and night. Not only that we had great view of all the fireworks taking place too!! Everything is within small walking distance. We hopped down elevator and 75 feet later we was on the beach. I love it that three a shower to rinse off before heading up and a bathroom. Great great place!!!!"

We enjoyed our vacation at the Surf Dweller very much. , Inc. did a nice job with the arrangements. Unit 603 was very comfortable. The beds are great and the kitchen is well equipped. Enjoyed the big outdoor patio and the view is awesome. The only negative was that the kitchen floors were sandy and the master shower needs a good cleaning. Overall we like our stay and would rent 603 again. "

"Great time at the Beach
The condo was great. There was enough room for the family as described. It was very clean and well-maintained. 2 full bathrooms, washer/drier, fully furnished large kitchen and flat screen televisions in living and bedrooms. Check in was very easy and there are lots of places to eat and a few things to do if you need to get away from the beach. Destin is only a few miles down the road as well but Ft Walton was not nearly as crowded.
I would recommend this to anyone wanting a large space to get away for a few days. I would certainly stay again."

I have stayed at Surf Dweller several times over the years. I love the facility, but I was a little disappointed in the condo unit. The electrical outlet didn't work (bottom outlets)in the entire condo. The furnishings seemed a little dated and worn. And the maintenance being done, was distracting, I think a better timing on those issues, would be not at peak rental time. Would I stay again and Surf Dweller? The answer is yes, but not in that unit. The rental fee I feel like I was a little ripped off."

Very picturesque view. 25 ft balcony faces south making possible great views of both sunrise and sunset. Very well furnished with plenty of seating for a family yet not so elegant as to fear children might break or soil anything. Equipped with everything one could want in the kitchen. Clean and well maintained. Beautiful beach. Loved beach view from both livingroom and master bedroom. Weather was perfect entire month of Oct! Pictures speak for themselves! Six miles from Destin, but away from the crowds. We felt so at home; want to go back maybe next year!"

The caption for this condo says "everything new in 2014." This is VERY misleading and should be removed. Most of the furnishings were very dated. The accommodations were average. The best feature was the beach service. I don't think we would stay here again. It's overpriced for what you get. We expected more because of the caption "everything new in 2014.""

This was an awesome family vacation! The staff was friendly and booking was an ease of mind! Everything was to our expectations. Very right at home and equipped with everything you need! The master bedroom mattress wasn't all that comfy but we made the most of it! We loved the view especially the dolphins!! The kids loved walking the beach at night to find sand crabs. Maybe next year we will stay longer!! Very close to attractions that was affordable or free!! "

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. Location is very good close to Destin yet out of the crowd. The only issues we had was with the
WiFi .we couldn't get it to connect so we called the office. They did give us access code to connect through another unit but it was very weak and sometimes wouldn't work. It would have been nice if someone had came over to fix it because we needed it for a couple of projects. Overall it is very good unit. "

"Beautiful view in wonderful condo at 603 Surf Dweller
This was the first vacation with my children as adults. We really had been looking forward to this for a long time and it was worth it. The condo had absolutely everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. Comfortable beds and wonderful kitchen with a view of the ocean. The spacious balcony was wonderful to sit at and watch the sunrise and set. The beach was very clean and well kept and chairs were very comfortable to sit in. It surpassed our expectations and we would come back any time of the year. Thank you for putting so much thought in everything that was available for our stay!"

"Wonderful vacation
We traveled with parents in their eighties. The walk-in shower with the seat and hand holds, along with large balcony were our reasons for choosing this rental. The view was beautiful. The two chairs and umbrella available everyday were great. We took advantage of the free Dolphin Cruise and Snorkling trip, and enjoyed both. We liked that the patio furniture was normal height, since perching on taller stools isn't a stable situation for elderly parents. The carts downstairs to bring up luggage were plentiful and helpful. The pool was clean.
Improvements recommended: 1. The two Mr. Coffee coffeemakers malfunctioned and apparently needed cleaning with vinager to keep them from shooting the water out with such force, that grounds were landing in the coffee. Fortunately, we had a few pods to use in the Keurig coffee maker. We also had some of the straps on the furniture outdoors break. I'm sure that has been replaced by now, since we reported these problems. The movie rental that was free, but not handy, since you had to drive into Destin. There was also construction next door, which was loud and disruptive to me. Our bedroom was on the street side and I could hear it early in the morning. My father-in-law and husband found it fascinating, and stood out there watching the progress off and on during the day. The location was convenient to the new Publix. Overall, If I returned to the area with my in-laws, I would rent this unit again."

"Enjoyable place to vacation
I have to admit that when we first arrived we were a bit surprised about some aspects of the condo being somewhat outdated. However, these were very small things such as VCRs and vintage clock radios which had no impact at all on our stay. The views from the balcony, the living room, and the master bedroom are gorgeous as advertised. The only things I would recommend changing at all would be fixing the one queen bed in the second bedroom as the one corner sags. And since there is no place close by to get good coffee it would sure be nice to upgrade to a Keurig so people could use k-cups! :). Oh, and we did have problems with having enough hot water for four people to shower in the morning which we thought surprising considering that the condo will sleep up to eight. Overall, we had a great week and would not hesitate to stay here again."

"Graduation Trip
My husband, myself and "the boys", 6 graduating high school seniors, had a blast and all of us loved staying in this unit at Surfdweller. It is light,airy, has a huge balcony and plenty of room. The management company was also very professional and accommodating."

"Gulf experience
We have been coming to Surf Dweller for the past 4 years and we are very happy with the professional care Eva and Bill have given us. Our dishwasher was not working properly, so we called Eva and she got right on it with a repair man showing up the next day. He determined it was not fixable and the next day Bill installed a new dishwasher. We truly appreciated the quick response by Brooks & Shorey and the communication with owner to replace the appliance. Good job guys!"

"New Years Eve
Plenty of seating space - a nice table in the LR for puzzles and computers. We like to have a "feast" on New Years Eve and the kitchen is well equipped for serious cooking.

We were very pleased with our condo. This is first time to stay there and we are hoping to get this condo again. It is as close to the beach as you can get. The condo complex is a little smaller than some and therefore the beach was not as full in front of it... Loved it."

"Very nice accomodations at a good price
We spent 3 nights at Surf Dweller in late June 2012 and were very pleased with our unit for the price we paid. Our 2 bedroom unit had more than enough space for our party of 7 and the unit was well furnished and beautifully decorated. Good parking facility, gulf front balcony, well organized elevators and beach access. Very short drive to all the action around Ft. Walton Beach, FL. We had a pleasurable stay at Surf Dweller and the staff at Brooks and Shorey were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a great beach vacation at a good price."

"Always Spectacular
We made reservations for the Dolphin Cruise which we thought was southern star which was on the pamphlet that was given to us when we arrived. When we go there they wouldn't honer the discount and told us to go to Little Nemo. Which later we checked the web site and it did say Little Nemo but it was to late. So basically we had received the wrong information! "
