"Pelican Isle
The booking process was simple and straightforward. All costs were known up front. The customer reps were very helpful when needed. The rental unit was clean and well kept. The only issue was a broken leg on one of the chairs for the dining table. We discovered it on our first full day and reported such to Brooks & Shorey via a phone call. The only property issue was one of the elevators was not working. Wait times were longer but not significant. I would recommend this management firm and property."

Brooks and Shorey are a professional operation. We received timely emails, and phone calls, that kept us up to date but at the same time did not smother our inboxes. Once there the room was clean with a great view of the beach. I am a coffee drinker and was pleased to see a coffee maker that took both ground coffee and K-pods even though it wasn't described as such.
Over all, I would stay at Pelican Isle again and use Brooks and Shorey again."

Guess I can understand the concern with Covid-19, but would have been nice to know that before we arrived. Brooks and Shorey are always easy to work with. This unit was very clean, well stocked, and very comfortable bed. "

Condo is in a great location in Fort Walton beach. It was very clean and had all the necessary amenities. I would recommend this room to those coming down for a beach trip. The only negative comment I have is that the bed in the master wasn’t very comfortable. The mattress and pillows seemed very worn. Otherwise it is a great property!"

"Disappointed
We were excited about staying here because the pictures looked extremely nice and the location to the beach seemed perfect. We arrived and the location to the beach was great, but the place was not like the pictures. The furniture was all extremely outdated. The arm chair of the recliners had rips in them. The patio furniture on the balcony was made out of like thick PVC pipes that had yellowed. The cushions on the patio furniture were completely ripped and torn to where stuffing was showing and coming out. As for the bathrooms, they were not too bad, but the metal shelving was a little rusty in both bathrooms. The place also had a really weird smell, that you could tell was trying to be covered up with the wall scent removers. Overall, I was disappointed because I paid quite a bit for this space for it to be outdated and smelly. "

I have rented from brooks and shorty about 5 different times I have always had a wonderful experience. Due to change in travelers we down graded to a 1 bedroom this time and check in was great ... the furniture and appliances however were worn out and chairs appeared dingy/dirty , the burner elements were sticking out and in order to use them I had to repeatedly push them back down , the remote for living room tv was non functioning even after we bought new batteries and told gentleman at front desk about our issue nothing was every followed up on ... the stucco on balcony was broken up .... this is truly not my usual experience with this company . I will use Brooks and Shorey again I just wasn’t 100% satisfied this trip ��"

We enjoyed our stay at pelican isle room 214. The view once you walk in the front door is awesome!!! The only real complaint we have is that the mattress needs to be replaced in the bedroom. My husband felt like he was on a slope and the carpeting needs to be replaced in the bedroom also. Super clean, great pool. We love pelican isle. Check in and out with brooms and shorey is so easy. "

"28th wedding anniversary, hurricane Michael, 1st Destin trip:
The condo and view did not disappoint. Check in was a breeze, condo was clean with a beautiful view as promised. Everyone from the front desk to the beach were friendly and helpful. The only complaint we had was lack of communication . We were supposed to check in on the day of the hurricane so of course our flight got cancelled. I was notified on Tuesday that the island had been evacuated. Wednesday afternoon we started calling to find out if everything was ok and open but couldn't get a answer. No one let us know anything until Thursday, the following day. So on the day we were supposed to check in, we started the 14 hour drive. We missed a night but was so glad we went. We celebrated our 28th anniversary that Saturday. We'll definitely go back!"

"Perfect Autumn Getaway
Condo was clean and convenient to everything we wanted to do. Personnel at Condo we’re always friendly and helpful. The bbq grills were clean so enjoyed cooking out one night. The beach service personnel were also friendly and helpful. The weather was perfect. The water was crystal clear. Those two things were out of resort’s control but certainly added to our enjoyment. Golf was good, as well as dolphin and sunset cruise."

"Much Needed Vacation
We really enjoyed our stay. I loved having the table and chairs on the balcony for breakfast. The separate tub and shower was great for us. The beach chairs and umbrella was a huge bonus to keep from having to carry so much to the beach. For me being able to keep up my laundry and not have piles of it when we got home was amazing."

We really enjoyed our stay at Pelican Isle. Our room was 214. Our condo was cute and clean. Well stocked for dishes and cookware.We cooked most of our meals. Loved having a washer and dryer. Our views from condo were amazing. I so miss sitting on the porch watching the waves having coffee. Pelican Isle I feel is one of the best locations on the beach. It is less crowded and all the rooms are gulf facing. Family friendly. Staff were friendly and maintenance quick to look at issue we had with dryer. Took care of the problem. Grounds always being cleaned.Check in process was a breeze. We will definitely choose this location in future. "

We stayed at Pelican Isle for the first time. Check in was super easy, and we were able to check in a little earlier. We loved that the condo sat right on the beach. Unfortunately, sitting on the patio in the morning was overshadowed by all the cigarette smoke rising up from the condo below us. We figured that since this condo was non smoking we were all good, but smoking is allowed on the patios. The kitchen could be better equipped. The condo could use a deep cleaning no updating. The pictures were a little deceiving concerning the size of the condo. The mattresses could be replaced. Overall, we had a great trip as a family, but we will not be back to Pelican Isle. We feel that it was not worth the money that we paid. "

Overall it was a good stay. The condo was laid out good and good location, just needs a full overhaul. Carpet in bedroom needed to be taken out and burned. AC never shut off and it struggled to keep temp around 74. Trying to cool down the room we turned on the ceiling fan which promptly came loose and fell only hanging on by wires. All that said we still had a great family vacation. "

"Great Getaway!
A week away from home to relax on the Gulf. Chose after Spring Break and before Memorial Day to lessen the school age crowds. Only had to call maintenance once because the balcony door wouldn't slide open. He had been called for the same problem in another unit so response was prompt. Door needed a little WD40 and it worked fine. Closest to a complaint would be that this unit doesn't have a screen door so I couldn't leave the door open in the evening when the temps began falling. Didn't want any bugs getting in, so I had to keep it closed. But that was very trivial. Comfy bed, good night sleep every night. Rented a movie one night and, now that I know how it works, I'll do it more when I return. Very trivial, but it would have been nice to have a DVD player in the bedroom, but there was only one in the living big deal. Went on a dolphin cruise for the first time and it was a lot of fun! Next time, I'll try to go on more than one. I've read others' complain about paint, walls, kitchen, etc., not being perfect, but my only preference is cleanliness. I don't want to be the one to bump something into a newly finished wall, for example, so I'm glad the unit was "lived in". Will definitely stay again!!!"

Our vacation overall was outstanding. The condo was nice. However, I think the furniture could be updated as the couch was not very comfortable. The ottomans were stained.
The front desk was great. We noticed within 24 hours the fridge was not keeping our groceries very cold. They had the fridge replaced within 2 hours of us saying anything. They were very kind. Overall, the condo was great. It just needs some updating :) "

"Great condo on beach.
This was a great experience. The condo is on Okaloosa Island, about a 10 minute drive to Destin. My wife and I loved the location as it is quieter than the bustle of Destin, but the beach is excellent. The condo management provides lots of extra perks like beach chairs and an umbrella, 1 pass a day for a dolphin cruise, a round of golf, or snorkeling. This can save a lot of money over a week. The condo was large for a one bedroom and had bunk beds built into the hallway and a sleeper sofa. This condo condo would be great for a family with 2 or 3 kids. Bed was OK and kitchen had everything we needed. We loved this place and plan on staying here again this fall. "

We have stayed at many places on Okaloosa Island over the last 50+ years, but for the last 4 years we chose Pelican Isle. It is facing the beach for a good view and is near the west end of the populated area where there are fewer people. We like to walk the beach and walking west gets us to an unpopulated area. The famous white sand beach is also great. Even the stormy weather was pleasant. "

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the condo was well equipped only exception was the furniture on the balcony. There was only one tall chair and two small ones which were not comfortable. We had electrical outlets that did not work and when I was checking out was told a light switch makes them "live". Wish I had known that early on, but it was our fault too for not addressing it immediately. The staff was extremely kind. Beautiful time of year to vacation!! Beach was awesome! Love working with Brooks and Shorey!! I will be back.... :)"

The condo was exactly as described and then some. We were welcomed by friendly staff and given a welcome bag filled with goodies. The place smelled really clean and fresh. We were able to see dolphins playing right from our couch. We loved the fact beach chairs and an umbrella were set up for us each day! The free movie rentals were an awesome bonus. The property was just enough off the busy traffic way, yet close enough to drive to anywhere we wanted. We were absolutely impressed with everything and just can't wait to come back!!"

It was a carefree time with family in a family oriented atmosphere. Very relaxing oceanfront view that is steps away from the beach! The pool was also very nice for my little guy to splash and play until he got up a little nerve to tackle the ocean. We are so pleased with the property. It was roomy and so comfortable for a family of six. The view to the beach was spectacular. Loved opening the sliding door and hearing the beach sounds. The pool below was busy during the day but always quiet at night. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen updated, well stocked and very nice... even a working ice maker. Pelican Isle had a few rolling carts to help us carry our stuff to/from our truck; much appreciated. the grounds were clean and updated. kids liked having the movie rental machine to pick movies to watch in the evening (so tired they were never able to finish in just one sitting). Pelican Isle 214 is a very nice room! I would definitely stay again at Pelican Isle, although I would like to have a different room location! The room is very loud due to its location by the pool, my husband and I couldn't really enjoy setting on the balcony because of the noise and closeness to the pool. We have a 20 month old son and it was hard for us because the noise from the pool and other guest being loud would wake him up! I believe Pelican Isle would benefit from having a night security guard or person there to help keep the noise at a manageable level. With that said I know people are there to have fun on vacation, but you have to be courteous as well! Thanks"

"Average place, won't come back
For the amount of money we spent, you would think the master bedroom would have had a comfortable bed in it. It was a very old bouncy mattress, and my wife had to sleep on the FLOOR all week on her vacation. The view of the unit was great, but the pool was pretty small. We really liked the white sand beach, but won't be renting through this company again since they put such a ****** mattress in the unit. Will probably go back to renting from actual live people who own their unit and care about it more than a rental agency does. Nothing like spending over a thousand dollars on a week, only to sleep on the floor all week."

"A Nice Visit Overall
I've stayed at Pelican Isle probably almost 20 times... albeit with another management company which we will no longer use. I was overall happy with the Brooks & Shorey Condo. The issues I'd had with condo's in the past were not a problem (moldy smelling
condo, handicapped bathrooms provided, etc.) The only complaints I would have for this rental were very VERY minor. First of all - we were staying during Tropical Storm Lee.. so we came to the area fully aware that we would not have the weather we preferred.
I was a bit disappointed in the amenities that were not provided that HAD Been provided from time to time with past visits: Hair Dryer, Paper Towels, Coffee filters, dishwasher soap (seems odd that the directions state for me to run the dishes as we are leaving
but don't provide even ONE Dishwasher soap to use... if I hadn't brought a sample I'd have had to purchase a Full Box of them), laundry detergent(1), Shampoo / Conditioner. This is very minor I know... other than the mattress at 214 was rather worn out. I
don't know if these amenities (or lack of) are consistent with this management company... it just would be nice to know what items I need to bring with me on our travels. Other than that... despite tornado warnings, heavy rains and blown transmitters....resulting
in loss of electricity... we really had a nice vacation and I would try Brooks and Shorey once again :) It's also nice to be asked for this review as I would like to be a happy and returning customer hopefully as much as you want for me to be ! Thank you for
