"A nice getaway steps away from the beach, avoid the business.
We stayed here for a USSSA week long baseball tournament and were pleased with our choice. We avoided the hotel chaos with our choice and got pretty much a private beach condo (for the most part). A quick grocery trip to get our food made it complete. The condo provided plenty of dishes, refrigerator/freezer that made plenty of ice for filling our waters for games. The 2 beds were perfect for our son, being able to lay things out. In between games, the condo offered plenty of fishing poles and tackle to get in some shore fishing. We caught a few catfish! We left a live bait bucket behind, go to Shut Up and Fish to fill it up , the gal is awesome &
gave tips for local fishing spots and other saltwater info. There were also chairs to take down to the sand to relax.
My suggestions would be to bring a couple extra towels if you’re staying for long like us...I did laundry twice ( I left a bottle of detergent) & possibly your favorite pillow, my husband is picky about his pillows, my son and I had no complaints though. As for the owners, thank you for offering an affordable ocean front place for a family to stay in... food for thought though- maybe throw in some outdoor and indoor rugs to catch some left over sand, to make easier for cleaning, a mop, some extra towels and sheets... I swept everyday bc of the sand (dirty feet drive me nuts haha) and I definitely would have mopped, left the beds made and new towels hung if there were extras provided and we didn’t leave at 2:30am to catch our flight. Some Tupperware with lids for food storage and leftovers for your long stayers would also be super appreciated but not necessary of course. Also, my son became buddies with the manager up front (after loosing all his fishing tools to the beach sand) he was so kind to share his tools with him, tell him sea stories and give us lots of info of the area and the waters. The outdoor shower is a HUGE win for keeping clean after beach play. "

"Perfect Beach Escape for Families!
We had a fantastic stay at this vacation rental! The location was absolutely perfect for our family holiday. Direct access to the beach was a huge win for our young girls, who spent countless hours playing in the sand. The pool was another big hit, especially for games and swimming in calmer waters.
The house itself was immaculate and well-equipped. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the beds were incredibly comfortable – a rarity in vacation rentals! We enjoyed many relaxing dinners by the pool, and the quiet location provided a peaceful escape. Everyone on the property was friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience.
The best part? Being able to take early morning and late-night strolls on the beach felt like having our own private island. It was pure bliss! This rental is perfect for anyone looking for a quiet and private beach getaway while still being close enough to access Orlando and all the theme parks. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again! "

"Love this place!
Vista Del Mar is a hidden gem! A tiny property right on the ocean with a heated pool...and at an affordable rate! The people staying here are mostly folks who winter there so it doesn’t have a busy vacation vibe which we appreciate! It’s perfect for our family. This was our second year staying at this property and we will be back! We stayed in a different unit last year and our only complaint this year was that the unit we stayed in was very dark inside during the day. Minor complaint! The location and literally everything else is unbeatable!"

"Great spot
Excellent location away from the tourist spots but close enough to cafes and restaurants. Very peaceful and friendly building, right on the dune. Nicely renovated condo, well stocked with beach and even fishing gear. Great for families and fishermen. I was there with my college age son, but it is ideal for families with younger kids as well. Management was very helpful."

"Excellent Location
First and foremost, the location and beach access were outstanding Only a 50 yard walk through some dunes to the beach, which wasn't crowded. Fishing was decent, caught a snook, make sure you get your snook stamp if you plan on keeping, 28"-32" slot to keep. Also caught a small shark and a redfish. Like other reviews said, the property is a little dark, but acceptable for what we needed. Stocked suitably with cooking utensils. 4 nice beach chairs and sand toys, ie buckets, shovels etc for kids. There was a fishing pole with a smaller reel and thin line, so I went and bought one that is more for surf casting, which I left on site. Any questions about fishing or if you need gear, check out Shut Up and Fish bait and tackle just down the road, she will help w/ anything you need. My only drawback was the assigned parking spot. It is extremely difficult to get into. And you can’t back into it or pull in straight without dragging your bumper. "

"Perfect Getaway
Was delightfully pleased - much better than described! This was an end unit and the bdr door opened to the gate access to the pool and the front door just 2 doors down from the beach! Very nicely furnished, clean, well appointed kitchen, plenty of room. All the property I saw: pool, beach access, recycling area, parking, etc., all were very well maintained. Just 4 miles from downtown Cocoa Beach. Owner/management very responsive and accommodating. If I have occasion to return this is exactly where I want to stay. Highly recommend!"

"overrated but a good value
The area around the unit was very dark at night. In the unit was fine for a bunch of guys; but not women. My wife was not impressed. Unit was clean but old with too few lamps. Price was good but ratings 4.3 was the result of many 5s and some 1s. Both are inaccurate as I had hopes for a huge bargain but got my money's worth."

Super easy keyless and accommodating....for 9 days!
Easy reserved parking. CLEAN and tidy. It was central to just about everything we wanted to do in Florida: Kennedy Space center, Swim with Manatees, airboats...gators. Super fun trip! Some of the other units were owners....some were rentals. Everyone was friendly and helpful."

I can't imagine what they could have done to set us up for success more. There were dishes, extra linens, extra signs displaying helpful tips. A 10 second walk to the beach is 99.9% the reason we will be staying here again. The rest is just above and beyond hospitality. You can truly see the ocean from the door of your condo. "

"Quiet, clean, right on the beach!
We really enjoyed our stay. The condo was very clean and restful. The beach is steps from the front door! We enjoyed kayaking with Fin Expeditions (our third time with this company), Kennedy Space Center, watching a launch, and watching the sun rise on the beach. The condo is close enough to attractions yet far enough away to relax. "

"Wonderful stay!
The apartment itself is comfortable, no frills and a little dark inside because the windows are partially frosted for privacy. But the location and the beach only steps away make it a fantastic stay. We loved it! Taco City, next door, is very convenient and the food is very good. "

"Awesome Getaway
We stayed in unit 1, it was a wonderful family getaway! We have been going to Vista Del Mar fir many years staying in other condos, this was just wonderful.
Was anxious to share location with my best friend and family.
We actually extended our stay by two days, it’s was too hard to leave!
Everything was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommen! Steps from the ocean, great heated pool, Great customer service as well!"

"HORRID
We have stayed at this property for 22 years and in this particular condo many times in the last 10 years. We were looking forward to our stay this year. The property is older and that has never been a problem. We understand that issue. In fact, some repairs have been made to the building itself.
However, condo Unit 1 has turned to disrepair and WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH OUR STAY. It has NOT been remodeled!!! It smelled horrible when we opened the door.
THE major concern was the fact that there were NO BATTERIES IN THE SMOKE ALARMS! And that is just the beginning!
There were drain flies all over the unit especially in the bathroom and kitchen. If you set down a drink, the flies got in it. In fact, there were dead flies in the refrigerator. There were cockroaches as well as lizards and palmetto bugs in the unit. It was so bad that we did not cook any meals. The microwave door was cracked, the Keurig was broken, and the refrigerator door was loose. We had to wash utensils and dishes because they were dirty upon arrival.
The sheets were nasty. There were no lightbulbs in many of the fixtures. Towels were worn out and tattered. One of the couches was covered with sand. Many of the window blinds were beyond repair.
You cannot take a shower and then use the toilet, or vice versa. The shower backs up with sewage in it. I have pictures of this situation but cannot post here."

"Uuuuggghhh!!! Beach restoration
For the entire week we were caught in a whirlwind of beach restoration in front and all around us. We felt like little Fisher-Price people surrounded by huge Tonka trucks, backhoes, bulldozers and dredging equipment. If constantly avoiding the work zones/moving up and down the beach by day wasn't enough, we had to hear the incessant beep-beeping all night long as they worked through the night also. The walls are super-thin.
The location otherwise was excellent.
Should have a dishwasher. Who wants to eat off utensils cleaned(maybe) by the previous renters?"

"Nice visit...
We were very lucky to find a beach property who were flexible for just 4 nights ... we visited Kennedy Space Center ... enjoyed the beach & found plenty of time to enjoy the heated pool ... which was very clean! You must visit Taco City right on the corner! Plenty of kitchen cooking supplies were in the unit & the owners let you know exactly what you are responsible to provide. First floor units are real handy ... no stairs are always great!"

"Could have been better
We were not notified about the renovations the building was undergoing. They woke us up every morning and made noise all day. Pool was useless as we could not use it due to the construction. When I reached out all I was told is that they can't control the time the workers got there. It would have been nice if they were professional enough to give a courtesy notice about the construction before arrival. "
