"Good location
The condo was very clean which was appreciated. The location was perfect as well. It is extremely basic and did leave more to be desired. Probably the most bare bones places I’ve stayed in. One small, thinblanket on the couch in the dead of winter, no soap in the shower, no extra pillows beyond the two in the beds,, towels, 4 rolls of TP, one roll paper towels(we didn’t need extras but just noticed how different it was from most others). The kitchen was probably the most bare bones. Other reviews said there was salt and pepper but we only had salt. Maybe one of the other groups snagged the salt! ;) no nonstick spray or olive oil to use in the old pans, no baggies, foil, or Saran Wrap. It was interesting how to figure out how to store leftover food. Glasses are kid size and cookware is old and had to be cleaned before use. The downstairs bed is also extremely soft. My back was aching every morning. TV only has cable. No streaming (which wasn’t advertised but just noted). Overall the place is clean, fireplace is nice, view out the back is nice, but be prepared to bring every single thing you might need. I’d probably stay here again and just be prepared to have to bring what we need. "

"Nice Stay, Bring Your Necessities
Good location, nice accomodations, clear communication with property managers. A couple things we were not prepared for -
1) Bring everything you'll need. They don't carry any extras: no extra towels, toilet paper (2 rolls in each bathroom) paper towels (1 back up). Also only found salt and pepper in cabinets. If you're planning on cooking, bring everything you're goin got need.
2. The king size bed is in the loft area, open to the rest of the house. This is also where the only shower is located. We weren't expecting that but we made it work.
3. Very limited delivery options. Unfortunately we had car trouble on our last night when we were planning on going out for dinner. Roadside assistance couldn't find anyone to come out and help us without it being way overpriced ($300-$450 for a battery jump). We decided to order food instead. No Doordash, Uber Eats, Postmates available. The only place we could get to deliver food was Jiffy's Pizza, which was ok but not the greatest.
Overall it was a comfortable stay and would recommend the property just come well prepared."

"Comfortable Rental with Minimal Amenities
Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Mountain High. The location is great - its in a family-friendly neighborhood, surrounded by beautiful woodsy trees.
The airbnb itself was underwhelming. Though the listing does state that minimal amenities are provided (no shampoo, conditioner, butter, etc), it was still surprising to be in such a bare bones airbnb. We've never stayed anywhere that didnt even have butter in the fridge or sugar in the cabinet. You really do have to bring everyyyyything you want for a comfortable stay. Additionally, there was a lot of cat hair in the rental (?) which is odd since the listing states no pets.
We were comfortable overall, but I think I'd find something with more creature comforts the next time."

"Wonderful stay
Cute townhouse in a great location. Very clean and quiet. We were close to all the summer fun: water sports, golf, and restaurants. We had a problem with an appliance, and the property management was quick and thorough in their response, with great communication. "

"Fine but wouldn't stay again
The pictures are way better than in person. The property is a bit grimy and a little banged up. I believe it was cleaned properly but it didn't feel clean. The whole unit could use an update. Unit didn't provide coffee or shampoo/conditioner. "

Unexpectedly we were moved to this location. The townhome was fine, but I was expecting to be on Carnelian Bay road which has views and is higher up. Our townhome was dark, with little living room natural light. I found myself staying upstairs in the loft bedroom to have light. It was a little disappointing. "

"Great Carnelian Bay Rental
This is the 2nd time we rented this unit and have been really happy with it both times. The location is fantastic - a short walk to Gar Woods and CBs. Fireplace is awesome on a cold day."

"Clean and Comfortable
We had a lovely stay at this clean and comfortable vacation rental. We love the new appliances in the kitchen and it was well furnished. We would recommend this rental to future guests. The only setback is the full bath is upstairs. It would be more convenient if the half bath on the main floor has a shower since the other guests in the second bedroom have to come into the master bedroom to shower.

"Cozy Home
Condo is very cozy. Location was great and easy to get to. Close to Safeway and not too far away from Squaw Valley.
Property was overall clean, bathroom and kitchen were stocked. Bedroom was a little outdated and the blankets seem to be a bit old.
Communication with property management was great. Would definitely recommend property to others. "

"Nice place
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. It was very clean, the kitchen was nice, and we appreciated having everything we needed to cook our meals. It was in a great location, making it easy to get to where we wanted to go. I will say that this place is not ideal for people who like to hang out and relax reading a book. We came back to the place exhausted after a day of skiing and just wanted to curl up with a book and relax. However, the couches were hard, small and the cushions (which were made of plastic) kept sliding out from under us. We used the table chairs to sit in later, and that was not great either. If you are only there to sleep and take a shower, but need a kitchen to prepare food, then this is a great place. I gave the place 3 stars, because I feel the lack of comfortable furniture took away from our experience."

"Charming Condo with nice location
The property was easy to book. Property mgmt was very nice and responsive. The condo was clean, nice location higher up on the mountain at the end of the complex, very quiet. Watching the snow fall through the balcony glass door was extra special. Will book again!"

"Good condo, but super-soft beds
The condo was nicely appointed with a spacious living room. The kitchen had the necessary equipment for making meals. The gas grill was nice to have. The beds, however, were both very uncomfortable. Extremely soft mattresses. My back ached every night and I tossed and turned all night long. "

"Mountain High Rental
We enjoyed this townhouse. It is in a beautiful location with plenty of room and conveniences not available in a hotel. We enjoyed the gas fireplace for warmth and ambiance. Checking in and out was very easy. Just know that this area did not have good cellular service or at least not for our carrier. The wireless internet was just fine, no problems"

"Clean and cozy!
The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was updated and included salt, pepper and Pam cooking spray. We made use of a few games and the BBQ on the patio. The condo is small but great for a couple or small family. Washer and dryer outdated but worked fine. I overlooked that the bedroom upstairs is loft style. The slats upstairs were very apppealing to my 2 year old. "

"Mountain High Condo Carnelian Bay
The most important thing to me with a vacation rental is cleanliness, and it was very clean. It was also recently renovated, which helps a lot. Just as important is comfortable beds, and they were very comfortable. Next is location--Carnelian Bay has been the location in Tahoe that has worked best for me in relation to things I want to do in Tahoe. The condo itself was far enough off the main road so it was quiet and peaceful. The pictures of the condo make it look much bigger than it actually is, but for two of us it was perfect and we didn't spend much time there anyway."

"Review
The space was pretty similar to the photos. The location is great. There is salt/pepper in the kitchen, but nothing else to cook with. We were given exactly 4 towels for 4 of us, no extra towels were around. There is also no shampoo available for you. Trent was somewhat rude/short/cold in our communication and when we checked in, the code to the door did not work and we had no way to contact him directly (the phone number was to the main office and they never answered). Definitely do not assume this place has a hot tub as listed because it is only open Friday/Saturday and “closes” at 8:45pm, although when we arrived just after 8pm, the employee said he was closing it so he could get home. The welcome packet also had the incorrect WiFi code. In general, was not impressed or pleased by the lack of hospitality and accuracy usually common for Airbnb hosts, especially for the cost of this place during off season."

"Review of property
This was a great property - the location was great proximity to town and the lake. Would have liked having a few more things in the kitchen (e.g., Pam spray, oil) or indicate in the listing that those small additions aren't included in the kitchen as they've been in all other Air BnBs that I've stayed in. Overall great place and would recommend it. Thanks! "

"A bit too toasty
This was our fourth stay at Carnelian Woods, in a different unit each time. This is a lovely unit that has been updated, and has a nice layout. The loft has a king bed with adequate space around it and storage. However, on hot days, it is stifling hot and the room badly needs a standing fan. We regret not asking for one. Therefore, some of us slept downstairs in the cooler queen room. The knives need upgrading, and there could be 1-2 more bigger/serving bowls. I was disappointed there weren't a few more staples left behind like nonstick spray, sandwich bags etc., only salt, pepper and coffee filters. We loved the combo lock - made it easier for all of us to not juggle a key. The location is great, plus it's near our friends who rent a house nearby."

"Mountain High-A Wonderful Place to Stay
The condo was very quiet and very clean. All the amenities we needed were available. Enjoyed the walking path in the woods behind the condo. The lake was a 10 minute walk away. Loved the location. We were very happy here."

"Perfect location and place!
First time in the area we weren't sure where to stay but this was the best place to go! We were away from the busier cities but close enough to get to them in no time. A walk across the Main Street took you to a beautiful view of the lake where you can enjoy the scenery on a picnic bench.

"Great Stay for the Family
We had a great time in this condo. The decor was great, clean and comfortable. We had all we needed in the kitchen for a great stay. While there a major snow stormed dumped snow nonstop. The HOA cleared the parking and walkways daily, sometimes multiple times in a day. Couldn't ask for more."

"Outstanding Stay, Wonderful Location, Outstanding Home like stay
Like I state in the title, the stay was almost like having a home away from home at the price range of this condo. When it comes to Vacation Properties, the variance is obviously incredibly wide, and always relative to price. But out of my 20+ years of vacationing, my stay here was definitely just about the best I could ever do at 150 or under per night. I happened to bump into those who work at the Condominium Complex (individual units are owned by different organizations or even permanent individual residents) and those who worked at Carnelian Woods were very polite, professional, and definitely the type of people who were aimed at providing a clean and quiet stay while also being more environmentally conscious. Basically, if you want a stay that feels as much as home in a condo, this appears to be a good place. But I only stayed a week during low traffic. So my experience is limited. But, I will definitely consider staying here again. "

The place was nice but having the main bedroom as part of the loft gives you zero privacy around the rest of the unit (excluding the second bedroom). Also only having 1 full bath made getting ready in the morning kind of a pain having to wait your turn."

This is the third condo in this complex I have rented and this is the cleanest nicely done of the three. I will definitely try to rent this unit again.

The house was very clean and cozy and was perfect for a family of four. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of games for the kids and for family fun time. The lake and all the restaurants were only a few minutes away by car or walking. We did enjoy our vacation in that house and would recoomend it to travelers."

"Perfect living space for two!
Spent the recent weekend here with my girlfriend. Area was convenient and only 3 miles away from Safeway. Also about a 20 minute drive away from Northstar resort. Living space was clean, spacious, and with a modern kitchen. We enjoyed our weekend very much. Only inconvenient thing was we had to go to their office to pick up a parking pass and amenity keys. It would have been better if those things were already in the house. The parking passes at least."

"Mountain High
The rental experience at Mountain High was Excellent. The layout was very homely and well maintained.
We got in late and were given the capability to access the condo without seeing a front desk which was extremely beneficial for someone traveling from the East Coast.
I would most certainly recommend this property to anyone, to include friends and family.
While we were there, we went to the North Shore Beaches, stopped at all the Visual Lookout points for different vantages, we went to a small Gym in North Tahoe every morning, we rented (student and Military discount) from Tahoe Dave's whom were extremely helpful. We went to Northstar, the locally recommended ski slopes for the "Best Kept Secret". We then made our way around to Zephyr Cove and took a cruise on MS Dixie II into the Emerald Bay. From there, we went around to Vikingsholm and hiked down to check it out.

"Clean and cozy
Was so very pleased with the cleanliness and the sweet touches like having the amenities (soaps, hand towels, etc.)displayed with care. Something needs to be done about the keyless door code, though. We got locked out twice, once because the code simply did not work for no reason (and, yes, admittedly, once because we lost the code--DON'T leave home without it!). This issue in no way detracted from an otherwise perfect stay. "
