"Unspoiled Paradiise
Our multi generational family vacation on was filled with Sunshine and Sunsets, shelling and shark teeth collecting on the beach, cooling off in the pool and watching a family friendly pirate show. The entire staff is accommodating and friendly. The office staff sent a welcome bag to our unit that was filled with treats for our grandchildren. Our rental was Superior and definitely lived up to the rating. "

"Beautiful and fun
The beach was beautiful loved going to the point finding sharks teeth. The cildren enjoyed our time there. our condo had a great view and we loved the patio. the inside needed some attention-the master bed was noisy with just sitting on it-the carpet was very spotted-doors didnot close right
At the ice cream shop they were not very professional. Everyone else was great red beard-cart driver. Our microwave broke and we called the second time they said oh we had the wrong place-but they did not call and it was not fixed while we were there. Also the pool was not very clean the day we arrived. I called the next morning and they cleaned it and also the deck which was nasty."

"Beached, And Loving It!
My family (Husband, myself, 6 YO daughter and 20-mos-old son) didn't want to leave after our week-long vacation in May. Our accommodations were very nice and suited our family. We really appreciated being able to be very independent and do our own thing, but then also head over to Coconuts, the gift shop or the restaurant to feel like part of a community, too. We loved getting around the resort and the rest of the island in a golf cart, and enjoyed a boat tour which we arranged through the resort. Dolphins, sting rays and fresh air! Whenever we visit and the surrounding area we are amazed by all the sealife and wildlife and the lack of people. It's so relaxing. We had a wonderful stay."

"Two day getaway
Great location, villa was lovely, resort staff were friendly and helpful .
We would definitely return.

Leaverock's dining experience was just mediocre."

"Private retreat
If you want seclusion this is the place. Everything was clean and professionally run. The only suggestion I would give them is to direct their housekeeping to the rooms that the clients have arrived early for to prepare first. I arrived for a 5pm wedding at 11am and while I was able to use the facilities, my family wasn't able to get in their room until after 3pm and we were late for the wedding "

"We loved the Island - it is so friendly and quiet.
We were able to relax and use the pool, hot tub, walk the beach and experience the great coast. We found beautiful shells, sand dollars MANY shark teeth, and saw Dolphins daily. The restaurant and water taxi were really convenient!"

"Relaxing Super Bowl
The computer had the incorrect information and incorrect pictures on a number of units we looked at. Also, didn't get the unit we had requested and booked. Owner came in and we were not told until we arrived. "

"Beautiful place for a race
We stayed here for the SUP Race Around Palm Island. It is a natural beauty of a resort and the best place we have stayed in for any race. Hope they do it again next year."

"Good Stay But the First One In March Was Better
Makin the reservation initially was very difficult. Due to a miscommunication we arrived a day early. The personnel tried their best to accomodate us, but the unit we were given, 3622, was fairly clean but shabby (not in the greatest of conditions). We were taken care of by the management by moving to the original unit we requested, 3124. Dan did a great job of taking care of us and our luggage during our move and on checkout."

"Our stay at the
It was great, the villa was nice and the location was great, we had one issue with the internet boxes and had to exchange them twice without success, the employees did not seem to know much about how to troubleshoot, they just said that they had been having issues with some of the boxes.
We had a wonderful time at Rum Bay Restaurant and got some cool souvenirs at the store
Overall great experience having gulf carts included in our package"

"PalmIsland...Paradise Found
We have been spening time on Palm Island for
the last 25 years. First as owners in the Club
Villas, more recently since we retired to Punta
Gorda as guests. The above title says it all!
The villa we rented this time needed some
additional help but didn't influence our love
of the beach and the great staff."

"Great Location, Disappointing Stay
We were so excited about our trip. We reserved a superior villa, which was just under $500 per night. When we checked in we were very disappointed with our room. It was like a nice motel room, certainly not resort quality. Several thing were broken, the fridge would not get cold, the sheet were thread bare and would not stay on the mattress. The worst part were the dining options. There is no place for breakfast, unless you count the very disorganized cafe which serves frozen, then microwaves pastries. The main restaurants served clearly frozen, canned and then deep fried or slathered with butter entrees. We were planning on staying three nights but couldn't take eating any more meals there and decided to leave early. "

"great family vacation
We rented three condominium units for a multifamily vacation. We had been to 20+ years ago. It was just as quiet and beautiful. I would recommend spending a little more money for an A rated unit. You can request photos of the unit you will be renting, as each unit is individually owned and decorated diffierently. "

"Broken fridge & unresponsive management deter from nice facility
There were several disappointing aspects which hindered what could have been an otherwise great stay. In general, the front desk was very disorganized and came off as incompetent as discussed below. First, getting directions was like pulling teeth, especially
considering the resort does not come up on GPS and once you get on the island there are no signs telling you where to go. After checking in, even though we had 4 people and paid for the two-bedrooms, we were given a single bed which we realized only after
we had already lugged our luggage up a flight of stairs in 90-degree weather. Having been advised of their error, instead of having someone bring us the correct keys, we had to lug the luggage back down, come back to the front desk, and return to the correct
room which was ironically just above the original. As we began putting away the food, we noted neither the fridge nor the freezer were cold. Therefore, we turned them down to the coldest setting and called to inquire about the location of the nearest ice machine
since every quality hotel generally has numerous industrial machines throughout the resort. Apparently this was the first time any guest at this resort had made such an inquiry so the front desk had to call us back only to advise they did not have one so guests
have to buy their own at $3 per small bag. Finally, as the unit was advertised as having a full kitchen with grills available, we made the mistake of purchasing food and drinks, which included steaks and other perishable items. Even after several hours of
the fridge and freezer being on the coldest settings, we noted nothing was getting cold. As such, we called the number provided for maintenance which was unbelievably an invalid number. Then we called the after-hours management number since the front desk
closes early and got a voicemail at which time we advised that we could not reach maintenance and the fridge wasn't working. After not receiv"

"RELAXING, PEACEFUL STAY-VACATION
We had an absolutely fantastic week! We will definately be back again! Only 1 complaint fan on patio stopped working after 2nd day and couldn't seem to get 1 lamp in living area and fan in living area to work....I did make about 3 attempts to call maintenance; however, line was always just wasn't that important to follow-up on....I'm sure; however, that had we gotten in touch with someone it would have been handled immediately...GREAT GETAWAY!!!!!"

"This was my 11 month old son's first vacation to the beach. We had a wonderful time and the condo we stayed in was very clean. As a new mom this was very important to me as well as the washer and dryer in the condo.
The guys hustling the luggage were fantastic. The day we left it was very hot and sunny. The were wonderful about getting my things in the car quickly so that my son was not stuck out in the sun. I have visted Palm Island twice before this trip and I am already looking into another trip next year. The only negative I would add would be that the quality of the food in the restuarant didn't seem the same. My name is Alicia Weigel. They accidentally put Mimi (my friend) name on my reservation. "

Feedback would be to promote amenities better... We were with owner friends so had plans but thinking of guests looking for activities maybe more could be done. Also consider creative food options- ie: poolside ordering & delivery, ect."

"This unit is a bit tired and should be updated or...
We have been visiting for about 10 years and have never had a real complaint. This trip was not the best. The 1st unit we were given didn't have the proper sleeping arrangement, so the kind and friendly office staff promptly moved us to the only other unit available. The unit we were moved to is a bit "tired" and should be updated or offered at a discount. Many of the basic cooking utensils were absent or unfit for use on a grill. The bed sheets were old and worn, and the bathroom and kitchen walls looked like they had been painted with a rag. We have been visiting for 10 years and this wasn't the best of our trips.

I realize it was busy season, but how many spring breaks have you been through? Get some extra golf carts. I waited 8 days(of an 11 day stay) for a cart, and yet everyday there were 5 to 10 carts sitting in the lot unused. The manager of the rental program was kind, but seemed to have her hands tied by a policy that required her to hold carts for people who may or may not arrive. I was standing there with money in hand offering to return the cart if it was needed. The lack of a cart led us to leave the island more often resulting in us spending our vacation dollars outside of the resort. Think about it!!

The food at Rum Bay was less than acceptable regardless of the high price. My kids don't complain much about the quality of food, but even McDonald's wont serve french fries that cold and stale.

My guess is that the staff was trying to do their best, but policy and work load may have been the root cause of some poor decisions.

The staff was always very kind and friendly. Everyone had a smile.

Red beard was a hit as usual.

In the future we will avoid spring break and stick with the off season.

I hope these comments are helpful and not taken as overly critical. Palm Island IS our favorite vacation destination. Someday Penny will sell us a unit or house.

Cheers,

"Basically Satisfied
Issues we encountered: 1)Fire Alarm sounded off for 30 minutes, 2)Water was shut off over an hour longer than expected, 3) Air conditioner failed on us, 4) The seafood restaurant doesn't have "fried shrimp" as an option, 5) "Red Beard" the Pirate was NOT available, 6)Other than these issues, we had a very relaxing time and still will consider seeing you again next Summer. Thanks!!"
