"Nice but no wifi
It was a very nice room, clean and nice bedrooms. The wifi password did not work and they did not have basic cable sports channels, we had to use our computer to watch the game that night. "

We loved the location, view of the water, and the beach was perfect. The condo was well equipped and had diffident room. As it was our 40th wedding anniversary, we enjoyed the privacy. We expected peace and solitude. Unfortunately what we got was construction going on from 0800 to 1800 hours everyday. We couldn’t sleep in or even stay in the condo during the day as there was loud hammering and sawing coming from the neighboring condo. It was so loud we could watch tv or even hold a conversation at times. This made the stay less than relaxing."

"Great view - Disappointing Interior
Great view out to the beach from this condo, but the interior does need a lot of work. Hopefully the owners will recognize that compared to others in the rental program, they need new furniture (sink holes where people have sat on the couch); carpeting needs to be replaced; Dining room needs a light over the table; kitchen is in sore need of an update to "everything" from appliances to supplies. "

"A Beautiful stay, but keep in mind...
We were visiting to attend a wedding for a few days. The beach was beautiful & everyone was very welcoming! We would love to visit again, considering one-way flights & the ease of booking, however we would prefer a different villa due to dirty furniture, broken coffee pot, broken blender, chipped paint & wallpaper throughout the villa, & lack of cleanliness. If potential visitors are considering visiting, keep in mind frequent ferry rides, cooking & meal prep is on you, & no amenities are included."

" 2 week stay in Beach Villa.
This is the fourth time we have vacationed at . We enjoy the secluded beautiful beaches and great views of the sunsets. The grounds of the Resort are beautiful and well maintained. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the condition of the Beach Villa that we paid a lot of money to rent was not up to the standard we have come to expect. The appliances were old and 2 of the burners on the stove didn’t work. The furniture was old and needs to be upgraded. The television in the main room was very small by today’s standards and the picture quality was poor. The carpet was torn and dirty. The whole condo needs to be painted.
I would not recommend this villa without a very serious upgrade regarding the above issues."

"A Bit Let Down
The location was great--beach view, wonderful beach, good fishing, exceptional shelling, NO traffic.
The condo was a little run down. Paint job in bathrooms was amateurish at best (splashes of white paint on green background). Paint chipping in living room. The blinds in master bedroom has a missing handle so it was difficult to open/close; the curtains were not hung correctly. Shower head was cheap. Porch furniture was functional but worn.
Same for second bedroom. Additional sheets and pillowcases were on floor.
In general it looked liked the owners did not care about the place (or maybe the caretakers they hired didn't care). It was like there was no quality control.
The furniture looked like it came from Goodwill--functional at best. A TV Remote Control was missing the battery cover. Most things had an outdated look. There were peanuts (?) in the living room rug; so it was not vacuumed, or vacuumed badly. Wallpaper was peeling in spots.
Taken individually, these items would not lead to this low rating. But taken a whole, the condo did not live up to expectations of the advertised "De Luxe" rental and did not warrant the price charged."

"First visit - Villa 3723
Excellent staff at the resort, especially the bellhops. Villa 3723 needed a few things fixed but was overall good but a bit tired. Kitchen was clean and well equipped. In the master bath, the drain was clogged most likely with sand and was very slow to drain. Standing in water. And in the master B/R, the center blind was missing a control rod to open or close the blind. Had to reach up and twist by hand. "

"I love this resort but...
First of all, I have stayed at this resort almost every summer for the last 4-5 years. I enjoy the unique experience of this resort. Including the tennis courts, empty beaches, shark teeth finds, stump pass, the snook fishing, and getting around on golf carts.
My only issue is the rating of individual condo units. This unit was rated as “Superior”. I expect a lot out of that rating. This particular unit we have rented twice.
This unit and some of the others we have stayed at are feeling a little dated and aged. So I will list the following issues we noted on our stay.
1. The AC unit on the first day was not cooling. An AC repairman needed to come out the next day and got it working nicely.
2. The verticals blinds in the main living space were missing several of the slats. This was an issue because it was turtle nesting season an all of the blinds needed to be closed.
3. The curtain in the master bedroom would not close completely. Appeared to be something inhibiting the track from sliding the whole way.
4. The kitchen faucet has a button on it to adjust the stream/flow of water. However, this was damaged. The sink could turn on and off, but adjustments between stream and a wide spray could not be done.
5. There was only one functioning burner on the stove. We always cook on our trips to Palm Island and this made the job a little more difficult.
6. Paint was chipping in the master bedroom.
These issues were raised with the front desk staff and I did bring up that this was rated as a “Superior”. Her response specifically was that some of the units were going to be reviewed to determine the rating.
Now, honestly these issues would not keep me from staying at again. It’s kinda what you might expect from condo rentals. However, at here at this resort I have always expected a higher standard. Especially for a “Superior”.

"Paradise in not Superior unit!
This is my favorite place to come to for relaxation and tranquility. The staff is the best and the amenities are great.
However I always splurge for superior accommodations and this one (3723)did not meet the expectations I have grown accustomed to.
The blinds did not work and were missing some panels. The water pressure was weak even in the kitchen for hot. The bathrooms were right out of a hotel with the standard plastic unit. Could have at least spent some extra on the shower heads. The paint job looked to be done by teenagers missing paint all over the unit and just splashed into the closets not even cut in. The furniture was nice for a castle but this is a beach location and it just made the room so dark.
I cannot wait to get back to the property it is paradise as I said in the title if you want to enjoy a relaxed, tropical setting to forget your everyday cares, I say you run not walk to the ferry that will deliver you to heaven on earth."

"Gets the job done
I have been coming to Palm Island for over 30 years and have seen several units - we were transferred from a 2 bedroom in PIV 1 to this unit and were very disappointed. The unit has few windows since it is in the middle of the building and with the dark walls, poor lighting and heavy furniture it felt like we were in a cave. The stove had two broken burners, the coffee maker didn't work, the washing machine made crazy noises and the showers were a pain to turn on. We made the best of the vacation and spent all of it outside at the beach and pool with the kids. Unit location is ok since you can hear the Red Beard show right from the porch, but that also means that you are in the busiest part of the Island - right in front of Rum Bay."

"PI visit
We loved Palm Island! We especially liked the laid back feel to the place - enjoyed kayaking, biking, walking the beach, and just doing nothing. The food at the restaurant was surprisingly great -- could have used a better vegetarian option though.
The villa we stayed in was nice - the furnishings were wonderful. However, the blinds in the living room and one set in the bedroom didn't work which was a pain because we couldn't close them at night. Only other criticism I had was that the paint job in the unit was a mess. Little things like that ruin the big picture.
Overall though we thorough enjoyed our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to return except we can't bring our dog."

"UNSPOILED PARADISE
Although there aren't the conveniences of a grocery market or praise-worthy restaurant(s), the seclusion of the beach makes up for the lack of niceties that you may expect for the price of the rentals. I would not recommend staying in an average unit based on the rating of our unit and some of the improvements that should be considered when advertising a "fully equipped" kitchen."

"Another pleasant stay
We needed somewhere to stay for 2 days before our 3rd annual family presidents week on Anna Maria. For 3rd year we were able to stay in a lovely gulf side villa. We enjoyed the peacefull get away, bike rides and dinners at rum bay restaurant. We'll be back. Our only problem was that there was no mattress pad on bed, just a waterproof cover, making you feel sweaty. We solved problem by putting bedspread under bottom sheet. If we were staying for more than the 2 days we would have asked for a mattress pad"

"Weekend Wedding
Our room was a little dated and in need of refreshing (bathroom and kitchen- although I suppose with granite countertops they consider it updated). Kitchen cabinet doors were loose, old (but clean) appliances, porch furniture had grime on chairs. The overall facility was amazing. Although I know others were there, you didn't see many people. Check in and check out was a breeze. Lastly, lack of wifi, although it said wifi available at pool...if it was there, it didn't work. If I were on a longer stay, I would certainly like to have it available."

"Memorial Day Holiday
We were referred to this location by some friends that have stayed there a few years ago. We were surprised as we have lived here for 15 years and have never heard of it. Boy were we shocked! We had the best time!!! Talk about the best place to go and unwind. We didn't want to leave. Our family was there, so we had all we wanted. We cooked and grilled didn't have to leave the island. Beach, pool, kayak and a little kite flying for our grandson. We have already reserved our spot for next year. So happy to have found Palm Island!"

"Relax and Forget your worries
This is the most relaxing vacation, we loved driving around in the golf cart, the island was not crowed at all. We played tennis, bike ride. It was great because you didn't have to worry about finding a seat at the pool. The restaurant has the best food and prices are ok."

"Cappuccio week at Palm Island
Very enjoyable, a lovely time in spite of the cold, windy weather. saved by the heated pool and hot tub. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Liked the co-op with IPFW internship program. Had a grerat time with naturalist Chris. Beach villa was spotless and fully equipped. Our only issue was the fact that we had to go up to 500 ft. from the unit in order to get wi-fi. We understand that the resort is working to resolve that."

"Beach Villa at Palm Island
Palm Island is a perfect getaway for those that want to disconnect from the world. It is a beautiful, quaint island that allows you to fully relax and breathe. The staff are very kind and helpful at the front desk and restaurant. There is only one restaurant and one ice cream shop which allows you to not worry about where to go for dinner, etc. A few of the staff in the ice cream shop (Coconuts) are not the most friendly but that is a minor issue compared to all that this wonderful getaway offers."

"A Confused Beach Villa Unit
We have been vacationing at P. I. for 15 consecutive years. This unit had the most comfortable master bedroom and living room. Unfortunately the master bath was similar to a cheap roadside hotel, the kitchen was outdated with paint peeling on microwave and donated utensils, and the guest room beds were designed for small children not for adults. Additionally, the guest bathroom was far superior to the master bath and the whole unit seemed to have been painted by a first time painter."

"Beautiful Secluded Island.
Would try to stay for longer next time as it was a lot to pack for 3 nights and then have to pack up and leave. I think they should have 1/2 day golf cart rentals so you can return your golf cart just prior to checkout and not have to pay for the the full day. The island is incredibly beautiful with amazing beaches!!!"

My husband and I have stayed with you before, so this time we brought my Brother and Sister-in-law for Michigan. We all had such a great time. We enjoyed the beach, fishing in the Gulf, collecting Sharks Teeth (MY Sister-in law loved that). The pool was wonderful and always very clean. We will come back for sure. The check in and check out went very smooth becoause of your very friendly staff(Travis and Marty)"

"A Family Gathering to Cherish
We invited our children{2]and grandchildren{4}to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. It could not have been a better selecion and we had a marvelous five days together. I did have a problem with one housekeeper. I went to management and voiced my concern abt serious hygiene issues. I believe that they were forced to let her go. I was pleased with the way the situation was handled and my experience did not sour my opinion of the resort and I am returning this month with family. Also, my daughter wants to have her 2009 wedding at the resort. So you see, we plan on returning every winter that we are able because we love it so much! "
