REMODEL PLANNED. This lovely old home has one of the best locations on the island. The owners are planning to remodel, but in the meantime, they are offering it for rent at a discounted rate to guests who can tolerate a dated house in exchange for the incredible beachfront location and views.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR SUMMER RENTALS: the main living areas do not have a/c, only the bedrooms and guest house are air conditioned.
Relax in total privacy on a pristine gorgeous beach. Oceanfront family home and separate guest house/art studio directly overlook 165 feet of pink sand beach with gentle clear turquoise sea (protected by coral reef, so great for kids & swimming). Coral powder-soft sand is cool to walk on at all times and there is 5 miles of beach to stroll. Very private location (rarely see neighbors). Windermere Island is a secure gated island community just over tiny bridge from main island of Eleuthera. Bone fishing and snorkeling are at your doorstep.
The architect-designed 'Ho-Hum' house is filled with sunshine and views tucked away amidst the beautiful Bahamian landscape. There are two spacious bedrooms in the main house. The master has a king bed, office nook and private gated garden off master bath with outdoor shower. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds (easily convertible to king). Both bedrooms have en-suite full baths and patios. Bedrooms book-end a large high-ceilinged living room with dining area, full kitchen and gorgeous large sunroom/breezeway with large dining table and sitting area (with a good quality comfortable futon for kids or an extra sleeper). The entire house has a wrap-around ocean view patio for sunbathing and outdoor dining.
A separate guest house/art studio, also overlooking the ocean, is just 100ft from main house. It has 2 twin beds (easily convertible to king) and a small/child-size bed nook. Guest house has kitchenette, full small bath and it's own ocean view patio. There is also a large island with an extra artist's sink and huge wide counter space for artwork projects (some easels available too). Views of the beach and sea are every where!

The village of Savannah Sound is just a few minutes away by car, home of the new and acclaimed Fishbone Beach Bar and Grill, located right on the sound. There’s also a grocery store, Midway Cost Cotters, in Savannah Sound. The towns of Palmetto Point and Tarpum Bay are ten minutes away. Both have several stores and restaurants. The main town of Governors Harbour, 25 minutes away, has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. You can buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour is a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street. You won’t want to miss it.
Rates are on a sliding scale based on the number of guests. We set the rates this way to make the property more affordable for smaller groups who use less utilities and put less wear and tear on the house. If you enter the correct number of guests, the reservation system will calculate the rates correctly.

Cancellation of or changes to your reservation must be made in writing (e-mail or fax is acceptable). If you cancel more than 90 days before your scheduled arrival, 20% of the total rental amount will retained by Homeowner and the balance refunded to you. If you cancel 90 days or less before your arrival, 100% of your total rental fee will be retained by Homeowner. No-shows, late arrivals, or early departure for any reason, including but not limited to inclement weather or illness, are non-refundable. Homeowner recommends trip insurance to protect Renter against loss from such events.
